"GY-NO-MITE!!!!"

Well, it's that time of the year again. Time to start planting flowers, mowing lawns, and....having my annual check-up. I went this morning and, along with the "usuals", we discussed some blood tests I had done earlier. It seems as though my sugar levels are out of whack, and a lot of the symptoms I've been experiencing are due to this fact. She put me on the SouthBeach Diet. I am so bummed. I suppose it could have been worse....she could have put me on Atkins....yuck! At least I have a bit more freedom on this one. Has anyone out there been on/is on this diet? What do you think of it? Any tips, tricks, or good sites out there to help me start up?

I forgot to mention....when I called to make my appointment, the receptionist asked me what I needed to be seen for. I responded with, "It's time for my annual check up." She responded with, and I am NOT making this up, "Would you like a pap with that?" I literally had to bite my tongue to keep from answering, "Yes, and could you supersize it?" OMG....the girl HAD to have been new. It was hysterical.

I'm still waiting to hear from dh about the boat. He is test driving it as we speak. I know what is going to happen....he's going to ask me what I think....yet will already have told the guy yes. *Sigh. Oh well. Maybe it will keep my mind off of carbohydrates!

P.S. Lanny....you are TOO funny. I actually LOL-ed and woke the dog!

OK Sherry, this is just a little bit too much information...LOL...my DH wouldn't even discuss it with me, he'd just buy whatever and bring it on home....

Okay, I'm laughing my tail off over this one!!! Good luck on the diet--I hope it helps! My doctor told me it was a good one to be on. Love, Kim :o)

The South Beach Diet is similar to the Atkins diet, no breads, pasta (until you are on maintenance), etc. The first 2 weeks you can't have any fruit either! That never made any sense to me. But, my ex-friend was on it, and lost mega-weight, so I guess it works! They have a book about it and a good website out there. Just google South Beach Diet and you will find the official site that has recipes and the foods you can and cannot eat. Good luck!
Hugs and love, Lisa
