"The Mother-In-Law has left the building!" Freedom, sweet freedom. My house is back to normal, In just 2 hours, I will be alone in my home....I'll be able to clean what I want, say what I want, and doggone it....why aren't I as happy as I thought I would be?
This may come as a shock to some, but, in all actuality, I will miss having her around. She isn't a problem, she doesn't complain, and my kids do love her. I feel like during this trip, I got to know her better. I was with her for 3 full days without my husband, so we did a lot of talking and shopping....I can't believe I'm going to say this, but it was actually kind of fun. And I know she is very lonely. She is alone in Indiana, kids at either end of the country, husband gone and one sister left (who's wheel is spinning, but the hamster is dead). She is a devout old school Catholic, and works the soup kitchen on holidays to combat the lonliness, and is a full time nurse. Don't get me wrong, there are things that irk me, but when I look at the big picture, I feel like a smaller person for complaining. Maybe I've learned something about myself in the process of spending time with her. Maybe it was God's gentle nudge to remind me to stop practicing my "out of site, out of mind" mantra. Yes, *sigh, I will miss her.
But still....TODAY IS CLEANING DAY....WOO-HOO!....I can't wait...."Hello Mr. Clean, whatcha knowin? Good morning Sir Windex, let's get the window's a-glowin!" Remember that commercial with Fred Astair dancing with the vacuum? Well, you can just replace my face with his and visualize..........................................

It's not hard to visualize you dancing around cleaning everything in sight. Were you a french maid in an eariler life? hehehe MIL's can be fun in a visit sort of way but believe me when I say that it's both nice to see them come and nice to see them go. I'm glad you had a great time with her. Hugs Lanny
Gee, I had the image of you like in the commercial with the Swiffer Jet, dancing around while Swiffering the living room, etc. But, I thought that Fred Astaire commercial was funny! I am envious that you actually like your mother in law. How wonderful a thing is that?! Maybe you can invite her more often now that you lived through this visit. I am sure she would love it, but doesn't want to impose without an invite. Plus, there will be yard work to do soon right? Hee-hee!
Hugs and love, Lisa
Yea!!!! Cleaning Day!!!! Forgive me for not being able to do a little happy dance about THAT...But since I know you love to clean...I am way happy for you!!!! I'm glad you had a great time with your MIL. She sounds like a nice woman (and anyone who rakes the front yard is tops in my book!!) Now get back to your cleaning...stop hanging around journal land. I see a spot on the bathroom mirror...
Lisa's right,I can totally see you dancing around your friends house dusting your heart away.Oh and don't even get me started on poor Martha,I'm on your side.It just proves that this country is still the good old boys club. KIM
Aww, you're so sweet about your MIL. As far as cleaning day, have fun! Don't get too wore out. Hope you have a great time dancing with the vacuum. LOL ~Melissa
