Well, it's 1:45, and I'm no where near getting my housework done. It's absolutely gorgeous outside today, and I should be out there, soaking up the sun. I got a late start today, due to the fact that the girls started their spring break today....which means I got to sleep in....kind of.
Dh woke me at 5:45 to let me know that he was leaving for work....like I didn't know that already! Then at 7 am, I get up and check to see if oldest was up, as she needed to be at her babysitting job at 8 am. I, of course, looked in on the youngest, and she was snoring peacefully....so I gave her a gentle kiss and made my way back to bed. Ahhhhh, the coolness of the sheets, the quiet of a spring morn....of course, 10 minutes later the youngest bounds in like she's been up for hours. "Morning Mom!" She smiles. Right in my face. How could I be upset? I gave her a quick kiss and she gets in bed with me....only to flop around, pull on the covers, get up and go to the bathroom, come back, play with the dog.....you get the picture. So I tell her, either lay with me or go watch cartoons....she chooses the cartoons. Again she comes in and wants me to get her online....then wants breakfast....FINALLY I get back to bed and get some shut-eye....only to be awakened by the phone. Crikey! So, at that point, I get some bkfst and get back into bed with my magazine. Dd comes back in, takes the magazine from me and says, "It's MY time now mom...." and jumps into bed to talk. So, there we stayed till 10....laughing and talking. It was, actually, a nice morning.
Now, she is with my mom, oldest is babysitting, and I am sitting here, taking a break from my cleaning. In my mind I know it is Friday, I know I need to finish up the pre-weekend cleaning, but because I know the girls are off, it feels like a vacation day....which is why I'm having trouble keeping on track. Not to mention the beautiful day out there. *Sigh.
So, I suppose I will continue on, trying to get things done, and maybe later, I'll go outside and sit on the porch. That would be nice. Just enjoy the afternoon sun....drift off with the caress of the spring wind on my neck....yeah....that sounds like a plan!

I love the little funny remarks you throw in like the snoring. I was reading this out loud for brianna...<she's bored> so I was keeping her occupied. It's freezing here. I didn't do a thing yet either. Big messes here and there and everywhere. I like cleaning all day on saturday...reminds me of when I was a kid and saturday morning chores. Only I start at about noon.
A vacation day? since when is that in your french maid comtract? hahaha Hope you have a nice one. Hugs Lanny
Sherry, you need to open a bottle of wine and start chillin' about the cleaning situation. Take a tip from the Ksully school of cleaning--what you don't finish today will always be there tomorrow, and even the stuff you do today will be wrecked so that will be there tomorrow also, so...forget about it!!! I'm always happy to share my tips so don't be afraid to call on me.
hey it's me cheesy! I'm on my SIL's computer. I was looking for you online cause im bored but of course you are not here again.Glad to hear of your great day of doing nothing. You don't do that often enough. Maybe I will see you tonight.
I'm getting very jealous of all of you that already have spring break! We still have 2 weeks to go! Hope you forgot about the cleaning for once and had a nice relaxing day :-)
Ahhh, cuddling in bed with your children! What more could you ask for?! The cleaning can wait, the kids can't, so enjoy every single minute of it! I am so jealous that you are having good weather over that way. I can't wait for Spring to get here so I can be out there gardening again! My yard looks like a brown gross tundra right about now. I can't believe how much you women clean in J-land! I am not worthy!!!
Hugs and love, Lisa
Enjoy these moments when you don't feel "pressed" to get things done--I wish I had more of them! :o) ~Kim
Cleaning can wait ... the children and husband can't ~ time is valuable. Enjoy the day ... relax! Hope you sat on the porch and enjoyed the sunshine.
