"Oh Crap!"....

Sherry sighed as she sank down into the hot tub. She could almost feel the tension seeping out of her tired muscles. Tendrils of steam rose upward, curling the loose strands of her upswept hair. The silken water caressed her skin, as tenderly as a lovers touch. She smiled to herself, and closed her eyes....

This is the part where my daughter and her friend, frantically knock on the door, yelling that the toilet in the other bathroom was overflowing. *Sigh. So, I say, is it just filling to fast and you think it's going to go over? NOOOOO....it's all over the floor and into the carpet....so what can I do? I jump out of my tub, throw on a nightshirt and run. Oh yes, they were telling the truth. I had at least 3 inches of water on the floor, and into the carpeted area. I call my dh who of course, doesn't answer the phone. So I call my uncle, and he says dh is there with him. He puts him on and I frantically explain...as the water is still coming out....and he tells me, "Go get a mop".  WTH???? I yell back, "This situation is WAY beyond mop...." and so he agrees to come home. (I found out later they were in the meeting and although I don't remember yelling, dh said everyone could hear me in the phone!)

So, right now the plumber is here, replacing our septic pump for a whopping $450, and I am taking a break from steam cleaning. Dh went back to work, and I am left with the clean-up. Dd and friend were *so much help to me. *enter sarcasm here. They sat at the computer, talked on the phone, played music and ate nachos. All this while I and my rubber gloves are cleaning up. The youngest, of course, in the middle of everything decided she had to go to the bathroom right now, and I had to run her over to my uncles house. Sheesh!

So, enough of my lounging in front of the computer. I must go continue my drudgery. Perhaps this evening, I will be able to finish thatbath....

I'm so sorry Sherry---this has GOT to be the ultimate disaster for you. When I first saw your animation, I thought you were going to say that you were bathing when you saw a snake jump out of the toilet (I've heard of that happening in FL by the way). I really can't think of anything more gross than moping up toilet water. Do you need me to send you some extra medication??? Fed-ex??? Let me know....;) sully

OH SHERRY !!! those things happen but do they always have to happen when you are in the tub relaxing? Can't they pick a certain time like when you are not doing something for yourself? Well, at least the weather is nice right? hehehe Hugs Lanny PS: I really am sorry this happened to you.

And now it sounds like you REALLY need it!

Nothing can put the fear of God in you like an overflowing toilet!!! HAHAHAH -sorry,couldn't help myself. That is the most horrible thing to deal with. Anything else in the house can happen, but any toilet problem takes the cake. I do like the little snake in the toilet!

Ahhh, that bath sounded so nice, and then REALITY hits! Wonder what clogged the toilet? And the "go get a mop", now that was funny!! I would have been screaming to at that point! I would have first gone down and turned off the water in the basement though, that would have helped a bit. But, then again, I am used to doing all this stuff myself, so I have had to learn the hard way! And, where do you get all your appropriate graphics?! A razor? A toilet with money going down? I love it!!!!
Hugs and love, Lisa

We don't have basements in Florida, at least none that I've seen yet! With all the rain the past 2 days, UGH! I'm so tired of it. That really stinks about the money it's going to cost and of course they didn't help, that would be too much work for kids! LOL Mine started going nonstop one day, luckily there's the turn-off knob under the back of the toilets here. Hope your carpet isn't too bad. ~Melissa

That really sucks! Same thing happened to my poor daughter once when she was home alone. She flooded the whole house, had no idea how to turn off the water! That was what started our home remodeling a few years ago (hint, hint ;-).
Hope you got that relaxing bath eventually today. I'm sure you could really use it after that!

Nothing worse than a toilet catastrophe, hopefully that bath got continued. After a day like that you deserve it!
