Shop till you drop!

As you may have guessed, we shopped once again today. We hit the other outlet mall, and did a lot of shopping.  I ended up spending $40 on two unmentionables, (okay, bras), and $4 on a Simpson's sound machine for my dh to use at work. He will be the hit of the office.  My mother in law went into any and every shoe store there was, and tried on 20 pairs in each. She never did find anything to buy. *Sigh.  All in all we had a very nice day. She bought my oldest some clothes, and my youngest a boogie board, goggles and water balls for the beach tomorrow.  Truthfully, I've enjoyed having her here. She is not the mil from hell, and she has always respected me.  I'll probably even miss her a bit when she leaves....

Dh called from his trip. They are staying in a hotel that is right across the street from Plymouth Rock. (Not to be confused with Schoolhouse Rock...."conjunction junction, what's your function?") He said they have a pool that is replicated after the bay, complete with a ship and waterslide.  Oh, how I'd love to see him and his buddy from work sliding down that thing.....

Last night I was feeling horrible. I could barely swallow, and my head was aching. I went to bed at 9:00....then the youngest came in and wanted me to switch movies for her. So, I treck to the other side of the house and do that. Then, as I'm drifting off to sleep....she comes in again to tell me she just wants it turned off altogether. So, another trip to her room, kiss, and I'm back in bed. Finally, I''m on the cusp of falling into a beautiful, refreshing sleep when....the bed is shaking and I hear a yelp....the dog is having a seizure. WTF????  He wasn't jumpy, and had had his medicine(he's epileptic)....so all I could do was listen to him pee on the floor, then flop around for a few minutes. Of course, once he was done, I had to give him a bath and clean the carpet.  Then, I had to clean the bathroom, mop the floor, etc.  Sometime after that I told my mil I was going to attempt to go to bed again.....although I might see her later, as things were not working to my advantage. Luckily, I did manage to get to sleep after that. Whew.....

So, that's my story. Tonight the oldest has her friend over, and we are going to the beach in the morning. I am going to sit and relax and try to get over this cold/throat thing.  Have a great weekend everyone!

A mother's work is never done...you sound as though you had the night from hell--poor thing--go to bed early tonight and lock your bedroom door!!! I know you won't believe this but I'm a little devastated by the Martha conviction today. I am watching her as I type this. I know she annoys everyone, but I kind of like her. She's always pleasantly condescending and I like that about her. Plus, she does everything to perfection and I find that just remarkable, and something to aspire to. I watch her and I think I will never be like her--but I watch her anyway. She's so serious about HOUSEWORK and COOKING and I find that really interesting mostly because I can't figure out what the big allure is...

AHHHH, what sweet bliss to have a mother in law like that! Wanna trade?! I would never even think to go shopping with my mother in law. I think I would rather go to the dentist for a root canal personally! But, I am glad you enjoyed her stay with you. As far as your dog goes, how awful for the little guy! And, poor momma not getting any sleep! That's what you get going to sleep at the early hour of 9:00 though! Glad everyone is okay now though and that you got some sleep! Had to get it in so you could shop 'till you dropped today!!
Hugs and love, Lisa

Wow! My daughter had seizures for close to 6 years and they just stopped. That was hard but a poor doggy do they do the same as if it were a child? I am so sorry to hear that. How horrible to see! ~Senssatinalstorm~

Well since you were sick and went to bed early I didnt miss anything. I thought for sure you would be sending me emails whining about why I wasnt on all night. Hope the sunshine cures that sore throat, drink some whiskey, that oughta help. You really have an epileptic dog?

I so felt for you about trying to rest and no being able to. Aweeeeeeee poor puppy. You are great giving him a bath and all. I am lazy and would have left him smelly till the next day. But no all that shopping i don't see any rest there...I just wish you would take it easy. Don't know how much a suntan will do a cold good...too much sun gives me fever and chills. But you must be used to it living there. Feel better pleaseeeeeeeeeee. I really want you to send your MIL over here when you are done with her. thank you. I hope she buys me stuff too. : ) Sweet dreams hun.

Maybe Martha can get out on good behavior and get a job at Walmart!
