Today has been a long day. I went to bible study, and we had 2 new girls....so of course, it lasted 2 hours instead of the usual 45 minutes. My mil didn't want to go, so I felt bad that it took so long. However, I used the time to chat and visit, and de-stress. When I got home, she was raking the front yard. How's that for a treat? She spent the whole morning out there....then she swept the driveway, garage and sidewalks. She is a nature lover, and hates to sit inside....so I just let her go! I put some grocerys away, started dinner, did dishes, wash and ironing. Now, I'm sitting here, with a horrible sore throat and achey muscles. Crap. Every time she comes, I get sick! What is up with that? I just took some tylenol, so hopefully I will feel better later.
My oldest is with her boyfriend for the afternoon. It's his brother's birthday, so his mom was taking all 4 of them to the mall for the afternoon. She's a nice lady, and is very involved with her son's lives....so I feel good about letting her go over there. My daugher always picks really nice boyfriends. I don't know who was more upset at the last breakup....her or me! LOL....but, they are still friends, so that's good. They talk for hours on the phone....
Tonight's dinner will be beef sandwiches. I put the roast in the crock pot, and covered it with a jar of pepperonicci and let it cook all afternoon. The house smells pretty good. I'll just serve chips with it. I'm not up to cooking a big dinner. Although, tomorrow I will bake a birthday cake for my mil, since her birthday is next week. I will be making my famous 3 layer strawberry creme cake. I made it for my daughters birthday the first summer we were here....and have made it about 10 times since! My aunt requests it for all birthdays and even some of her friends did too....hmmmmm, a new career path? Perhaps..............................................

I'm putting a request in early for you to make a strawberry creme cake for my birthday (October), okay? Sorry you're not feeling well. Sounds like MIL could fill in for you for a bit if you got sick. Rest up!!
Yes, that Strawberry Creme cake sounds delicious. You're going to have to put the recipe up in your journal for us! How can you just tease like that? It is nice here, 89 already? I'm not ready for that at all. Now, I'm wanting some of that cake. ~Melissa

Yummy, that cake sounds HEAVENLY! You will have to post some pics of it when it is completed. I am a frustrated cake decorator, hair dresser, interior designer, etc. I just can't find something I REALLY love to do, except be a mom. So, I will stay right in that for now! Hope your MIL enjoys it! Take care of yourself. You don't want to be sick when it's almost 90 outside! EGADS, I don't want summer to come, NOOOOOO!

I think you could start a business giving moms cooking lessons. I want some of that cake..oh it just sounds so dreamy. And a sandwich too while I'm grubbing food. You just got over being sick. Take a Vitamin C, drink plenty of water and rest...try to rest.
Oh you are sooooo bad teasing us with that cake! I can't eat cake right now ~ PLEASE tell me it's really awful! PLEASE! Not only the cake, you tease us with your WARM weather as I sit here shivering ~ MEAN!!! ;)
