Guess what came in the mail today....come on, give it a guess....oh yeah, my new freaking computer! It is wonderful. I am online in a flash. Webpages? Better not blink or you will miss them appearing....I'm thrilled. The first thing I did? Got a firewall and virus protection....I don't want anything happening to this guy. I couldn't choose a name for him, but I knew that I wanted it to be representative of the good ol days. When men were men....reliable, dependable....so I named him "BobandBing" As in Hope and Crosby. I think it suits him well.
Today I went with wee one to orientation at her school. I have to say, I am absolutely thrilled with her teachers. She has a class of 34 students, and two teachers who will be team teaching. She has the best of both worlds because one teacher has been teaching 4th grade for 29 years (experience) and the other, a man, is in his second year of teaching (new, creative ideas). They were so personable, and there is obviously a lot of respect between the two. Here's hoping her year is 100 times better than last.
Wee one is having trouble deciding if she should apply for the "safety patrol". They get sashes and get to direct kids through the halls, help visitors find their way, and, most importantly, "correct" fellow classmates who might be running through the halls. She was all excited about it....until we came home and she told Betsy. "Wow, you are going to sign up to be on the weiner patrol?" (This was an Anjelica moment, btw). Now wee one is having second thoughts. Of course, I'll just tell her that Betsy is jealous because the schools back in Indiana didn't have a patrol, and she never was one.
I have wrist cramps from filling out forms, and signing permission slips. I think there is a total of 11 that I will be sending back with her. I was also the only one who signed up to be head room mother. As I was signing the sheet, one woman looks at me and says, "Oh, you are brave....I signed up to be a helper." What she doesn't realize is, as "head room mother", I get to delegate all the "gruntwork" to the helpers, then just sit back and enjoy. Yup, I'm brave alright....smart too.
Well, I think I will close now, and go off to surf the web at lightning speed. OH! I also want to give a big congratulations to Monica for being in the Editor's top 5 this week....she is so deserving! Also, a welcome home to Sully....we missed ya girl! (Links to these two wonderful and smart ladies are to the right....) Night all!

Both of my questions/ comments from the last entry were answered. Yeah that Wee One got TWO (2!!!!!!!!!!!!) great teachers. Congrats on the brand spanking new bobandbing!!
Congrats on the new computer, I know that now the speed demon in you will use it to its best advantage hehehe They are so much fun to elplore all the new stuff. Have a blast with it. Hugs Lanny
YAY ON THE NEW PUTER BABY! WOOOOOOO HOOOOOO I KNEW YOU MUST HAVE HAD IT WHEN I SAW YOU BACK WITH AN ICON AND ALL ON MY BUDDY LIST. Tell Wee one that my daughter and son were both safety patrol people and very proud of it.
WOW! Look at your graphic! Sorry to say, but it's prettier than your last week's worth! LOL! I am glad BobandBing arrived safely and is working at top speed! There is no stopping you. Just think of poor lil' ole' me sitting here with my dialup speed of 0-2 mph in over an hour. Sigh. One day I will be able to afford my cable modem again. And, here in Somers when the time comes to sign up for "room mother" there are almost fistfights breaking out! I am not kidding you either! You see, along with being a member of the PTA, there is also the stigma and honors of being able to call yourself "room mother", not to mention the endless conversations on your cellphone in front of all us other "lesser" mom's waiting to pick up our children while "they" try to coordinate the next holiday party. I don't even bother trying and usually end up being picked as the helper when it comes time to do some sort of "clay" project! YECH!!
Hugs and love, Lisa
Congrats on getting the new computer and your new lightening speed! Life is good!!
You got a new computer .. BobandBing! I want a BobandBing! Sshhhhhh, just don't let my computasouris hear me say that, I need him to cooperate a bit longer.
The teaching team sounds like a wonderful combination, like you said the best of both worlds. My ex sister-in-law team teaches and she too was matched up with a teacher with many years of experience ... she's now been teaching about 6 years.
When I lived in Florida I was a Safety Patrol! I took great pride in my job at the time and besides I had fun telling others to stop running or getting to ask to see the hall pass! Tell wee one to go for it! It's an experience she will NEVER forget ... hey, I'm in my 40's and it still make me SMILE! :-)
I did the head room mom thing for 2 years and you got it right! Go for it ... but, should we be letting the secret out? Everyone will now want that job of deligating!
Monica
Thanks for the mention ... it's been fun having all kinds of new visitors from the feature ... gawd, there are LOT of new journals that look good. Like I need more to read! You are on my top 10 favorites and how often do I get in here? Grrrrrr
welcome to bobandbing :) it's so good to have you back with superspeed as well. Welcome back :).........Jules xxxxxxx
Safety patrol... that's something I havent thought about in years. My brother was a patrol boy and I thought I was IT because i was related to him. Tell her to just "do it" With everything in life, you have to just jump in without thinking or listening to other people.
