Monday morning....is there any better time for the sahm with school aged children? I think not. I've got one gone, one to go. Wee one is enjoying her bagel with cream cheese, watching Arthur. I brought in her clothes for the day, and she immediately complained. I chose a one piece, yellow short outfit that zips up the back. Almost a dress, but not quite. She says, "What if I spill something on it?" My reply, "I'll wash it." I got a dirty look for that one....I tell her that she can wear whatever she wants 4 days out of the week....but on that 5th day, it's "mommy's choice". Betsy always hated that....
Speaking of Betsy, John took her driving yesterday at the high school. When they came in the door I asked Bets how it went. "Great! And dad let me drive home." WHAT? This, mind you, was her first time out. Oh, I had let her move the car out of the garage, and one time let her drive a straight line to the bus stop at the end of our street (which, after that is why I said dad would be teaching her how to drive), but to drive home? I couldn't believe it. I asked John how she did and he said, "She did great. She will do fine." Then he asked what was for dinner....you know, I can't figure that man out. This is a man who goes off if someone wears shoes in the house....yet he lets his 16 year old daughter drive home the first time out? I don't get it....and I probably never will.
I did manage to finish my sewing, and send it off with dh this morning. Now I have a free day to....paint the bathroom! But no, the excitement doesn't end there. Not only do I get to paint BUT, I get to wall paper too! All this and cleaning the house. Could you be any more jealous of me? I didn't think so....
I washed the sheets to out bed yesterday. I just love climbing into a bed that is made with fresh, just from the dryer sheets. They smell so dang good! I kept rearranging my pillow and inhaling deeply....ahhhh, springtime fresh....well, actually it was citrus-y fresh, but you get the point.
Okay, it's time to go brush the tangled mess that is my daughters hair. Have a lovely Monday everyone....

Sherry, my heart was pounding reading that he let her drive home. I mean it. I think it hit a nerve because this will be my baby very soon. You work too hard. Don't you ever take a break? One day I wanna hear how you dropped the kids off at the bus and went to the beach for 5 hours. Do it, I DARE YOU!
This SAHM loves Mondays :)
Yikes a teenage driver....Caitlin is already counting the days until she can drive. Thankfully its not for a few more years! lol sometimes you just can't figure men out.
ooo a free day of painting and wallpapering. Maybe I can hire you out? lol
Have a great Monday!
I mhaving one of those mondays you know draggning. SLOOOOOOWWWWLLLLLLY Yeah Rachael now has her license and we still dont let her drive with out us in the car. not for six months. Id id the drivers training and did let Rachael drive home the first day she got her permit. She did great adn she drives great but got a little lead foot. Dont know where she got it. Oh yeah Dale Earndhardt her grandpa. LOL Just kidding but it would let me off the hook anyway LOL I heard oprah say she uses her sheets two days and has new ones put on. OH GEE give me break she has someone do hers. I jut cant fit doing sheets three times a week in my adjenda. YOu know its so easy for her. But she says the first day they feel sooooooo good the second day they are okay but the third day they are YUCK. . I agree what can I do though. That should be one of the sat questions how many times do you change yoru sheets. ????? LOL Lori
Great on Betsy and her driving. T is just starting drivers ed at school today, although she will be 16 in December. I really had a hard time with letting her get her permit in FL. Especially living in Orlando. The laws here are much better in terms of teaching the kids how to drive, rather than throwing them to the wolves and leaving it to the parents. I found it really hard to understand why FL doesn't require behind the wheel (I would most def!). It lowers the insurance, but makes for a scarey situation for those that don't take it. Have fun in the bathroom!
it was probably better you found out about Betsy driving after the event and not before, you would have been a bag of nerves. Happy monday, have a nice day :).......Jules xxx

OMG...I can't begin to think about my kids driving. You have to be 17 here (I think...it doesn't sound right now I've put it). I will never feel happy about my babies driving...even when they are 50....anything could happen!!! Also I never want them to drink/do drugs/have sex/get married or leave home. Then again some days I'm wondering if I could have them adopted...
I'm glad that you got all your sewing done! I was wondering if you would! I've been *lurking* here for awhile, but decided to comment:) I too, love fressshhhhhhh laundry! It smells soo good!
Have a great day!

I can't believe it! Driving the first time out!! whoo hooo! Wow. .I bet Betsy was on cloud nine. :-) I remember when my parents started letting me do the 'small' tidbits of down the block or almost into town and then we would pull over and then I would let them drive. . . wow. . now I ask if I can ride with mom! haha. . you wanna drive for so long and then after awhile you get tired of it and want someone else to drive. . sillly isn't it!?
By the way. . your painting looks awesome! I'm sure your bathroom will come out looking great!
I wish I had your energy!

Ughh... I just hate having to wake up Monday morning, but having some quiet for the day makes it worth it. Painting and wallpaper? You are going to so busy. Did you get it done? I love freshly cleaned sheets too, they feel so good to go to sleep on. ~Melissa
