Thursday's Entry....

As you can see by the above pictures, the girls were having quite a good time yesterday afternoon. They swam for a few hours, which was nice. They all played together really well, being that it was the first time they had played as a group. I watch the 3rd grader two days a week, and the other girl is in 4th with wee one....however, there were no problems....yay!

I just dropped wee one off at the bus stop. I decided to drive today, since yesterday so many kids missed the bus. Today she was exactly ten minutes early, which means she just made the 10 minute window. Technically, the kids must be at the bus stop ten minutes before the scheduled time. This new driver has been extremely early, and parents have called on her. Well, today she told one of the moms that we have to have the kids here early, and that she is within her minutes. That was true today, but not when 5 kids missed it yesterday. Wee one and I took no chances and drove....

There was one little girl who did start crying as she was running to the bus. She is in kindergarten and just turned 5 last week. I felt so bad for her, but one of the moms walked her the rest of the way, and got her settled down. Poor thing! Then, the "politically correct" mom says, "You know, we can't coddle our kids. They have to be responsible for being here on time. I'm sorry she cried but we have to....yadda, yadda, yadda." For pete's sake, the little girl was CRYING because she was scared! This is no time for a responsibility speech! I just looked at the other mom and rolled my eyes....give me a freaking break.  I have a feeling pc mom just alienated herself further....

Let's see, what does today hold for this sahm....well, I need to finish my sewing, do some laundry, clean out wee one's closet and pick her up from school early for her doctor's appointment. Unfortunately her ocd has become so bad that it is interfering with her school work. I was tucking her in the other night and she started crying about it. She said that she wished she could just be a normal kid for one day. My heart was breaking! So, hopefully today she will get some relief.

Boy, it's humid and muggy already today. I'm looking forward to some cooler weather. Of course, I've got a few months to wait for that! Dang it. Last year I decorated my tree wearing shorts....how un-Christmaslike is that? (Oh no, the dreaded "C" word!) Hmmmm, maybe I'll put the remaining days till Christmas in my entries, just to rile everyone up....lol. That sounds like something I would do....just to be irritating!

Have a good one everybody!

And remember....

123

days left until Christmas!!!!

Only 123 days?!  Oh no, I better get busy shopping.  Actually that's not a bad idea. LOL  Look at those girls with their nice tans.  I never understand when I see a little pale kid that lives down here. hahaha :)
If Mikey was crying and scared I'd have been coddling too.  WTH?  Poor little thing.  I'd pry feel so bad I'd keep her home and hold her all day.  I guess I'm really not PC! ~Melissa

I just dropped in after quite an absence, and realized your kids are already in school...my kids started in early August when we were in AZ, too!  Now, back in WA, they start next week.  Very nice of you to watch other kids.  That poor little kindergartner!  Everything can be so stressful for them, and then that parent with no compassion!  Geez!  Yeah!  Christmas!  JAE

yeah swiming. WE just shut our pool down last week. tht is why we had a warm up this week LOL Happens ever year no matter when I shut the pooldown LOL But hardly used it this summer so the nieghbors may buy it. YIPPEEEEEEEEE I ll probably miss it then. Hubby and I havent been in it once in two years. When we first got it 8 years ago we were in it more but was hotter then. last two summers its barely hot. But it will be nice to have the space in the back yard. OH well sometimes you got to let go. I think next year we will get a membership at the Y . They ahve a wave pool and they have exercise room. WONDERFUL!!!!!!!! That sthinks about the mom who said that about the little girl. Its scarry at five. In the 2nd grade I got on the highschool bus and went to the highschool that was scarry. fear is fear no matter what and when your young its insurmountable sometimes. I dont do well with moms like that either. Lori.

You decorated your tree wearing shorts? How sad that musta been for a Northern girl like you. I am with you on the cooler days. I absolutely love the fall. I can't wait until the trees start to change. I will be posting pictures on here all the time then. We always drive down to Gatlinburg, Tn when the leaves start to turn. Last year, my son asked why we do it when we have mountains here in our yard. Hummm, why do we do it??? LOL

I can't imagine doing to christmas tree wearing shorts. I love it to be cold and hopefully have a bit of snow to set the scene at christmas.
Every school has one of those mumsad she never makes any friends. I feel sorry for their kid, what must their life be like.
I didn't realise wee one had ocd, I do hope she does get some relief. She is a gorgeous child, you must be so proud of her :)......Jules xx

I REALLY APPRECIATE THE CHRISTMAS WARNINGS. IT MIGHT ENCOURAGE ME TO FINISH MY SHOPPING EARLIER THIS YEAR. That mom was mean. The pool party looks fun for the girls, im sure aggravating slightly to you, sitting there making sure nobody drowned. Feeding them when they came out all hungry.

I'm new to your journal but thought I would comment.

Seems like your daughter had fun getting out of school early and getting to play with her friends...and as for kindergartener, I would have to say that 'PC' woman...grrr...that's just me *grin*.  I know that if I was 5 years old and crying, I would want someone coddling me.

Decorating your tree in shorts...I do that every year, I always want a white christmas, and I don't get it...*sighs*...I'm all for the counter because I'm the one that you see at 11:59 PM at Wal-Mart starting her Christmas shopping on Christmas Eve.

Enough from me.

Hope your wee-one gets on ok at the Dr. I agree about the poor little 5 year old. Of course kids have to be responsible, but not all at once!! Give her a few days to get used to it!!
The girls look to be having a great time in the pool. How lovely.

aww it looked like they had a great time :)
I hope that wee ones appointment goes well, poor thing!
We've been having the same problem with our bus driver, showing up earlier than shes suppose to. Why can't they call and let us know of a change of schedule?
Thanks for the xmas reminder! lol

Looks like the kids had a great time on their early dismissal day.
When you told about the little K girl crying on the way to the bus stop, my thought was "Where were her parents?  She walks to the bus herself?"  What if she didn't make it there and didn't make it to school, by the time the school called the parents, IF they did it would be too late.  And if the PC mom is so against coddling, why is SHE there with her child(ren)?
Hope Wee One gets some relief.

Oh the girls look like they were totally miserable being out of school early.  Those poor, poor, poor girls! :-P

Now, I'm going to IGNORE the Christmas thing ...

Bah!  Humbug!  Christmas, Shmistmas!  Don't be opening that can of worms AT LEAST until the day after Halloween.  We should protest any store who puts the stuff out this early.

I think you are dreaming of a white Christmas.  You should come "back home again, in Indiana!"  "I'll Be Home For Christmas, You Can Plan On Me...."

Trade ya!  I'd love a Sunshine State Christmas! (((((HUGS!!!)))))

Cute pictures!!
Ya know...when we were doing some shopping the other day...now that you mention it...all the halloween was on sale and they were just putting out Christmas.  So I don't think you are off target on your countdown there...lol.
