Does anyone remember the song from my subject line? When I was a kid, we had a religious children's album, and I can't remember the name of it. It had to do with some kind of mystery musical machine, and the songs taught lessons. One of the songs, that I can remember most of the lyrics to, was sung by a snail and went, "Have patience, have patience, don't be in such a hurry. When you get impatient you only start to worry. Remember, remember, that God has patience too, and think of all the times when others have to wait for you...." That is one of those songs that just sticks with you, and stays in your mind for hours (or in my case, years). Anyway, I should heed those words while using this laptop, as I can't even pull up my mail without sitting here for 10 minutes (per e-mail!) I am trying to use the tracking site for my new computer, however, even that won't pull up! Here's hoping they are still on time, and tomorrow I will receive my precious bundle of technological joy!
I spent the morning vacuuming my pool....it's still green. I got a lot of the algae out, and gave it another whopping dose of the chemicals. It should be back to sparkling blue water just in time for the girls to go back to school. Wee-one has her orientation tomorrow. She has been wearing her new gym shoes in the house today, trying to break them in. I wouldn't let her wear them outside, but she did manage to sneak out of the house and into the car with them, as we headed out to visit my grandmother. Little stinker! I have a huge bag for good will, of clothes she has grown out of. She must have grown a foot over the summer! She put on a pair of jeans and could barely snap them. When she sat down her stomach hung a bit over the waistband. She started laughing and said, "Hey, I look just like Daddy!" Out of the mouths of babes!
I am on day 4 of my "thick, delicious shakes". And, to be honest, they are still "thick" and "palatable". I really don't mind them at all, but only in the chocolate flavor. I tried the cappuccino flavor, on the advice of my sister....horrible! And the strawberry smells good, but is a bit lacking. No way will I try the banana (gag!). So, I guess I'll just stick with the chocolate. I know I tried vanilla once, but Idon't remember how it was. Chalky probably....
I don't know why I've been feeling old lately. I suppose it's having a sophomore and a 4th grader. I remember so clearly being both of those ages. Perhaps, too, it's the aging of my parents, my dad's sickness, the possibility of alzheimers with my grandmother. And to top it off, I just saw a commercial on Nickelodeon, advertising the Rugrat's special "Angelica turns 13!" 13???? I remember when she was a precocious 3 year old. Where has the time gone? We used to call Betsy "Anjelica" after wee one was born, because she acted so much like her. She would get so mad at us for calling her that. It was cute....how I miss those days!
Well, it's after nine, and I'm going to try to track my purchase one more time....if I start loading the page now, I may get to bed by midnight....

Hey, Sherry. Have you tried shocking your pool? That always works on mine. I shock it, let it filter for a day, then I brush it all to the deep end, then wait a couple hours or a day to let it all settle, and then I vacuum it. Just a thought :o)

I am with you on feeling old... I am not handling it well. More on that later.
The key word at my house it "Patience." I always ask the boys when they are being impatient, "What's the key word?" They'll reply in a whiny tone, "Paaatinceee!" Then I'll say, "Have some." It'll be one of those memories they'll hate about me when they are teenagers.

O h man we have fought our pool all summer this year. Its a battle to the end. I am about to close it up early this year. Man its awful and the pool place does not offer much in the way of a permanant help. Lori
We called our oldest angelica too how funny. It wasn't a compliment either and yes she got pretty P o'd about it. Hurry up with the freakin' computer. I love the marge simpson..very clever. Use aol by phone for emails silly. And feel free to send me a voice mail whenever you like. You know I love them.
rofl at wee ones saying she looks like her daddy. It must be a man thing to have their bellies hanging over the waistband, lol. I love rugrats but can't get used to the new rugrats where they are grown up with braces and all that stuff, it's weird!! I still secretly watch the older ones when the kids are out, lol!!Good luck with the pool.......Jules xxx

Yesterday, our pool had all sorts of bubbles in it..... I decided to call the pool chemical peeps, and found that my pool was toooooooo clean.... HAHA! I had added algicide the night before. Normally I've been adding it for two weeks, this time it had been close to four. With all the talk about green pools, I thought I better add it..... Maybe you should try using more algicide... I dicovered that if your having trouble with green you should add it every two or three days. Anyway, good luck with it! Angie
lol love the Marge Simpson!

THe first thought that entered my mind was you. Such strange coinsidances!
