Well, here we are, getting ready to go outside and clean up the aftermath of hurricane Charley. There have to be at least two twigs in the front yard, and a candy wrapper in the middle of the back yard....
Thank God we weren't hit. After my voice entry last night, the sprinkling stopped, and nothing happened. It's a gorgeous, sunny day outside. I'll bet those people at wal-mart yesterday are going to be eating canned soup for months! Honestly, I was getting worried by early evening. CBS had nothing on all day but a harried weather man, telling us that tornadoes and 100 mph wind gusts would be here during the night, and what to do and where to go. Shelters were set up, and people in mobile homes or on oxygen were supposed to evacuate. I guess we are lucky, as one of the counties in Fl. lost many lives and homes. My thoughts and prayers are with them.
On a brighter note, Martha (lifes2odd) is fine. She and her family were evacuated from their home, but were back within a few hours with no damage. I was very worried about her, being so close to where the hurricane hit land! I got an e-mail from her last evening, after she got home and they were all good. And of course Melissa and her family are safe as well....whew. So I guess the journalers of Florida made it through with flying colors....thank God!
Now I'm not sure what to do today. I was planning on a stormy weekend spent inside, lounging about, playing on the computer. Now that it is sunny, I will have to actually do something. I suppose I will get dressed and go outside to replace everything I packed into the porch. Crud. That's gonna take a while. Not to mention the decorative things I pulled out of the ground, and my little gnome....
Okay, I'm off to do some hot, sweaty work (now there's a mental image to start your day off with....). Gretchen....let us know you are okay, and you too Kim (edgebag), as I know SC was having some effects this morning.

Glad to hear that everyone is doing well! My thoughts and prayers are also with those who have lost.
I still have not heard from my daughter, who is in the Bahamas with her father. I'm sure she is alright, I just worry about her return home.
Angie
Ps.. I haven't seen much on the news or on here about what weather the Bahamas got. Being down there, have you heard much?
Glad to hear that you aright, I was worried about you. Yes, I do worry about you as you are special. Also happy that Martha and Melissa are doing fine too. It must be the journal mojo hehehe Anyway, enjoy your weekend. Hugs Lanny
Glad you are safe and sound! Hope that is the last biggie of the season. How is that pool doing?
I am so glad to read this entry. I have seen the worse hit areas on our news and it looks bad. I suppose Florida must be a lot bigger than I imagined if some parts missed Charely. I am so glad all the other people from J Land are ok as well. Have a lovely day doing things you hadn't planned to do :).............Jules xxx

I kept you in my prayers all night as we in Texas kept hearing horrible things about all of Fla. I am glad you came out unscathed. I am still praying for the ones that didn't. Have a wonderful day! Love the Sun. Take care...

I am glad you are well and the storm did not devaste your home! A lot of rain in New Jersey. 100 mph I can not imagine that gee thats strong. I pray for those who are in the mess of the storm.
I'm so glad that the journalers in Florida are okay. I meant to write an entry sooner so thanks for thinking of me and we are fine.

Wow! I wish I could say the same :( Tonight is the first day back in my house after losing most of it to Charley (the ungratefully evil hurricane) which smacked RIGHT over my house :( Now am sitting here looking at my yard, my roof, the tree on my fridge going 'One cup of coffee, One email, THEN I'll figure out where to start.' I am glad that you escaped the path though :) and I look forward to being able to say I have two twigs and a candy wrapper in my yard left lololol
