What a day, what a day. After spending the morning lazing about, dh wanted to go "look" at trucks. We have a full size, long bed pick-up and he was considering trading for a smaller truck. With gas prices going sky high, and the fact that there really isn't a need for a 4x4 in Florida, he wanted to take a gander at what was out there. I rolled my eyes, and said I'd go with him. (Just what I want to do on Memorial Day....spend hours walking on hot blacktopped car lots, searching for something I wasn't going to be driving!)
Well, the first truck we looked at was really nice. A 2003 Ford Ranger Edge, super cab, low miles, all the goodies, loaded....we test drove it....and bought it. I tell ya, when we go shopping, we waste no time. We get it tomorrow....traded even-up. No payments....WooHoo! Not a bad deal....it's 4 years newer than what we have now. And it's smaller than our full size, which means easier handling for me. I was always worried driving our big truck, that I would ding it up in a parking lot. Of course, dh always had a reason not to let me drive it, so the chances of it getting scratched were very low....
After that we came home, got the girls and took them to Barnes and Nobles. We strolled leisurely through the aisles, looking for nothing in particular. We then headed over to my parent's house and visited for a bit. Now dh is walking through the house saying "Dayum....it's hot outside!" Well, no kidding. It's so hot out that our pool water feels like a bathtub. Not refreshing at all! Hopefully some of the rain that is in the forecast will actually fall, and water some of my sad looking plants.
As for this week, there are no real plans yet. Betsy is spending the night at my mom's tonight, and wee one will be tomorrow. At least I will get a reprieve from the continuous chorus of, "I'm-bored-there-is-nothing-to-do-why-can't-<insert friend's name here>-spend-the-night?" etc., etc.
And so, I will close this entry by thanking each and every hero in our military, past and present, living and passed on; who has unselfishly protected this great land of ours. God Bless our men and women fighting for our freedom!

The bored kid thing is so tiresome (especially one week after getting out of school). My youngest was bored the next day. Thank goodness she has friends who want her to spend almost every night out of the house (aren't I awful--she's even gone tonight!!) Looking at cars with dh, huh? Yikes, you poor thing. Hope you're downing a bottle of wine about now. Have a good one!
WOW...you DONT waste any time do you?..haha...Glad to hear you got the truck you all wanted though...and no payment??...how sweet is that??....Good ending to respect the holiday...I liked it...

You sure don't waste any time.Sounds like a good trade.Have a great night.KIM
Congrats on the new truck. I Hope you get to drive this one. I'm sorry you guys are so hot. I know I just couldn't take that weather more then 15 minutes. Don't know how you do it!
I absolutely HATE car shopping, it is even lower than visiting the gyno. I'm happy for you that you only had to go to one car dealer.
You should have little jobs for the kids to do if they utter the "B" word. You're "b", you get to dust the blinds, lucky you!
congrats on thr new truck!! what a fun day for you...lol. And...you can gladly take away our rain clouds and stormy skies...please...take them!!! :o)
Nothing like buying a good ole' pickup truck on this Memorial Day huh?! Hee-hee! Actually hubby has a dream of buying one one day, just so he can make dump runs as he calls them and not have to pile the garbage in the mini-van. Problem is, trucks never lose their value so they are always expensive (as you found out with your even trade). Sounds like you had a great day though! Barnes & Noble, my favorite place to just leisurely walk around in! :)
Hugs and love, Lisa
Congrats on the new truck, you got a great deal. Ben wants to get a motorcycle he can drive to work, ahhh!
Our pool feels like a bathtub too, its been so hot and humid out! We're getting a sprinkling of rain right now tho.
Amen...God Bless all of our soldiers
WOW! That sounds like one hell of an idea. I think you should host a giant J land slumber party! Is that not a cool Idea? hehehe Hugs Lanny
