I just finished dinner, and as I was sitting at the table, I was thinking about how each of us ate our steak. Betsy drowns hers in ketchup (ala Grammy), dh heavily salts his, then puts either Worcestershire sauce or A1 on it, and I just lightly salt it, so that you can actually taste what you are eating. (Wee one is still swimming, but she usually uses ketchup).
So, on this holiday weekend known for grilling, I pose this question....how do you eat your steak? What do you rub on it, dip it in, marinate it in....what kind of cut do you prefer....charcoal or propane ("Taste the meat not the heat"~Hank Hill)? I am curious to know....I believe we had NY strip this evening....it was on sale. My favorite, however, would be filet mignon.
So now, I will bake the cherry crisp to go over the vanilla ice cream and we will watch our movie. It has continued to rain and the temp has gone down 10 degrees. Hooray! There is rain in the forecast for the next seven days....right on time for June storms. Florida rainy season is so predictable....have a loveley Memorial day everyone!
BTW, the dog is at the humane society. They are cleaning him up and putting him up for adoption. His skin was caused by a bacteria that all dogs have, however, when their immune system is compromised, the bacteria take over. They have boxer rescue organizations here in Florida, which they will contact, as he did turn out to be pure bread.

Well...if you must ask...I like my steak Well done..I mean NO PINK whatsoever...with just a tad of A-1 Sauce...And who's favorite isn't filet mignon??...haha...the most expensive HAS to be the best taste...of course!!
Sounds like a fun filled day, and glad to hear you are cooling down down there...It's been stormy up here too...with tornados verywhere, so wish us and our house luck!!
Jackie
Hope things work out well for the doggy.
I'm not sure about my favorite cut of steak, but I like mine well done with Heinz 57 sauce... mmmmmmmmmm good!
When we do buy steak, which is very rare that we can afford it, we usually by ribeye. I like mine broiled in the oven, some mushrooms cooked in butter on the stove, salted heavily, AND to dip in, I like ketchup AND A-1 combined! How's that for not tasting your steak? Guess it really doesn't make a diff what kind I buy since I do this anyway! Glad you enjoyed your dinner!
Hugs and love, Lisa
We like to grill (on a gas grill) our steaks and generally get Tri Tip. Sometimes I marinate it with whatever marinade is on sale, or I'll rub it with some Montreal Steak Seasoning. I eat it straight up, usually Medium to Medium Well. That's what we're having tomorrow night. YUM!
I like T bones and I usually season it with alittle garlic salt and pepper then put some A1 on it like a marinade before we grill it, mmmm!
To me,it doesn't matter what the cut is.All that matters is it is well done,no pink at all.I ussually saute onions and slather my steak with A-1.I like the bold and tangy kind.Well,I'm glad the dog is being taken care of.Have a great day!KIM
A big, fat Porterhouse, medium well, rubbed with a little minced garlic and sprinkled with a little season salt prior to grilling over charcoal, served with grilled in the husk corn on the cobb, lightly steamed broccoli and ice cold beer :-)
I prefer a well-done (no pink) steak and then I dip it in ketchup - or if it's a T-Bone, we will grill them with bbq sauce on them, so then I dip it in bbq sauce. MMMMMM We had steak last night for dinner, but I opted for the good 'ol grilled hot dog with ketchup and relish....must be a pregnancy thing. LOL I don't care what sides we have with it, as long as I get to have a big bowl of ice cream afterwards....LOL Great, now I'm hungry. (((hugs))) Kyla
I do not put anything on my steak except salt. Others in this family do the ketchup thing to excess and that grosses me out. I have a sensitive stomach so I settle for bland most of the time...
I don't like steak. But I do like the cowboy graphic you used.
Are you keeping the doggie? I either eat my steak like you do or like your hub does depends on my mood!
mmmmmm steak!! I don't put anything on mine...can't ruin the taste of the meat!!
awww, the poor puppy!! I guess that means you aren't keeping him :o( Julie
My preference of steak is rib eye or filet. Best cooked on the grill with Monterey steak seasoning, then of course...catsup! Enjoy the weekend!
I don't eat steak, but when I did, I'd use a dab of A1 for each bite. It was already salted on the grill, over charcoal. LOL
Wow, a pure Boxer? I can't believe someone would abandon it. Poor thing. Puppies are worse than having a 1 year old in the house. Pry whoever he belonged to, didn't want to deal with it. ~Melissa
I like T-Bone the best for grilling at home. That's what we had yesterday. I salt & pepper it lightly after rubbing in some fresh garlic. Very good, indeed! Cherry Crisp, huh? Will you share your recipe? Sounds delish!
