Good morning....

I thought chocolate chip pancakes sounded good this morning. Not for the kids (bad mommy!), but for me. I made myself clean up the house first, mop the kitchen, etc., probably to ease that little bit of nagging guilt in the back of my head....since I had not sent my children off to school with a homemade breakfast. Okay, technically wee-one had a homemade breakfast, since she wanted warmed-up lasagna from last night. Her two favorite breakfast foods are chicken noodle soup or ramen noodles. Ick.

Anyhoo, I finished my guilt cleaning and made my pancakes....and ate roughly a third of them. I just wasn't hungry. So why did I make them? I think I just like the comfort of cooking and smelling them, and the memories they envoke. I do that with coffee. I will brew a pot, have a half a cup, and just enjoy the smell that lingers in the air. It reminds me of breakfasts as a child, going on vacation and sitting in restaurants, cold winter mornings watching the snow fall outside my window. I think this might be a key to weight loss. I have recently begun enjoying the task of cooking, the smells, the memories, and then actually saying to myself that I don't really want to eat it. And you know what? It has been working. I wonder what Dr. Phil would say about my new discovery? How's it working for me? Just fine.

I am going to work on my sewing today. I need to get a few orders out so that I can have some fun money. I saw a commercial for SeaWorld in Orlando, and they are running vacation specials. I would love to go there and see the marine life, and I'm sure the girls would too. I remember going to the one in Ohio as a kid. You could actually pet the dolphins. They had them in these little tanks and kids would just run up and touch them. Of course, that was before it was considered politically incorrect to boil a lobster, so I am sure things have changed. Still, I think it would be a fun thing to do....especially since the polar ice caps are going to melt and drown us down here in Fl. Better get that boat ready!

Forget stupid Sea World, you live by the ocean, go take a look at the animals there. What you need to do is take them to Disney!!!!

Mmmm--chocolate chip pancakes!  Now I'm hungry!  That bowl of Fiber One didn't do much for my taste buds--LOL! Love, Kim

Sherry, you're killing me here with the pancake story.  Run to IHOP and get some and leave them on the counter top to fill your house with the aroma.  Don't you realize you have to clean up the mess you created in making those pancakes?  That would cure me of wanting any on the spot...Love Sea World...

I saw that on AOL about Florida being wiped out with the global warming and stuff.  I think you have a good 100 years though, so no need to get the boat ready yet!  Choc chip pancakes -- YUMMY!  I used to make these things too, and even would make them into shapes; cats, mickey mouse, etc.  Now, they are lucky if they get a hot breakfast on the weekend!  And, good for you not eating a ton of them!  Maybe that is the key to weight loss, just to eat a little to curb that craving, but stop once it's curbed!  You better call Dr. Chromedome himself and let him know!!  Hee-hee!
Hugs and love, Lisa

My girls love Seaworld.  I made pancakes for breakfast on Sunday, but I actually ate them, a lot of them. LOL  I started to clean today and then just got sidetracked.  I don't even know about what. ~Melissa

I've NEVER had chocolate chip pancakes before ... am I deprived or what?!

Go to SeaWorld .. we did and they had the dolphins you could pet.  I swear my kids didn't want to leave that area ... when we FINALLY moved on to other stuff they decided it was the BESTEST park.

mmm chocolate chip pancakes! When my mom was visiting last year she made homemade crepes and made a banana glaze to go over, oooo those are good!
I've been canning, something I swore I would never do but its actually fun. We obtained a whole bunch of pears and I have been making pear butter, good stuff :)

I went to Seaworld when I was little and absolutely loved it. Caitlin went a few years back with her school. They did a behind the scenes day and she was thrilled. Now she wants to be a marine biologist.

This is great!  I just found it.  The writing style and content and animation are just fantastic.  Well done - please keep it up.  I wish that I'd been able to read this when my daughter was younger; it would have saved me a lot of grief.
