Well, the storm is gone....thank goodness. It wasn't as bad as Frances, which was also a plus. It was more of a severe thunderstorm, minus the thunder. We got a lot of wind, and lost power for about an hour last night, and four hours today. But things are up and running again. As you can see from the pictures, we had a pretty big branch end up in the back yard, and a mess everywhere else. John and the girls cleaned it all up though, while I worked inside. I still don't feel up to par....and milked it a bit as well so that I could stay inside! LOL....I'm so evil....
The girls are off school again tomorrow. I swear, I might as well homeschool! This is getting ridiculous. It has been sunny and warm all day....just a bit of wind, which had died down as the day went by. There are, apparently, 21 schools that are still without electricity....along with 90,00+residents in the surrounding three counties. We didn't even have to turn our generator on. I think John was disappointed. He kept saying, "Just let me know when you want me to turn it on." I didn't let him during the day, because I figured if we were going to be without electricty for a few days, we might as well save it for evening. Of course, we are now ready for the next one....
I did leftovers for dinner, and BOXED cake for dessert. Not even a box mix, but a boxed FROZEN cake! How's that for lazy? LOL....it wasn't bad. It was a Pepperidge Farm vanilla cake. I went to their outlet store the other day and they looked good....
Okay, I'm going to go and make John's lunch for tomorrow. I hope the Georgia residents are faring well with the remnants of Jeanne....stay safe Gretchen!

I have those branches on the floor of my yard every single day. We got a big tree back there and the slightest wind causes it to lose it's limbs. The pool looks like a swamp..tell hubby to have fun! OH and the pepperidge farm cakes...yummy. I like the choc and yellow cake one and the coconut one.

I am sure everything is picked up and put back in order already. LOL!

I am glad that you guys made it through this storm pretty well unscathed. I love the evil you...busy inside and can't help outside! That is so me. The cake sounds so yummy that I think I will have to hit the grocery store tomorrow. Okay off to sort socks and try to match up about 50 mismatched pairs. Have a great night! Kim

I am so tired of upkeep now that we have big trees. years ago it was not a big deal. The guy across the road is getting a settlement and he is going ot buy our pool from us. Then we will have a big empty spot inthe back yard. GRRRRRR But soon I ll have grass believe me I will have grass and we are going to get a membership atthe ymca. We will have a wave pool and exercise room too then. sauna too. Well anyway I am glad the damage is not too bad and That you got to keep your big trees I mean I just love big trees. I hate them to get blown down Lori

I'm glad that you'll are safe. Indeed, I say milk your ill health for as long as possible, cause once you're better you wont have the chance to rest. Take care, Shermeen x
