Sick on Saturday....

Only one more day till Halloween....yippee! I love Halloween. Although it just isn't the same trick or treating in 80 degree weather. Oh well.

I've really been complaining lately, haven't I? I need to stop focusing on the negative and start being positive. Okay....here goes....I'm POSITIVE it stinks trick or treating in warm weather....lol.

I feel rather cruddy today. However, (trying to think of something positive) my husband did make me some coffee this morning and it was delicious!

Wee one is at the mall with a friend. She had spent the night at her house, and called to ask if she could go with them. I told her yes, and asked if she was going to stop by and pick up her wallet. She said, "Yes, I am....and make sure there is A LOT of money in it!" I tell ya, that kid is hysterical. I have a feeling she is going to come home with yet another build a bear. She had over $60 of her own money in her wallet....so here's hoping she doesn't come home with three of them!

I'm taking Betsy and her friend to a Halloween party today. A boy from drama is hosting....and they will be playing improv games. Actually, I would enjoy going to a party like that! However, I highly doubt I'm invited. Dang.

Although I'm basically a loner, I do envy those with a tight circle of friends, who do things together. I'd love to throw a party with good food, drinks and games. I'd love to have a group of gals to go out to lunch with and chat and gossip with. There are a few women who I am very close with, and would trust with my life....but they are hundreds of miles away from me. All I can say is, Thank God for the internet, and AOL journals in particular, as this is where I have met them. It's funny how you can talk with someone from a far, and feel closer to them than someone down the street.

Okay, I'm off to do bills, then help dh with typing up some homework. Have a lovely Saturday!

I'm thankful for the internet too.  I think is some way we are all loners on here.  Once we have children, it's almost impossible to be as social as we want to be or once were.  Then, once they are older, you forget how to be.  I for one, would rather be a loner, it's easier that way.  But, I do enjoy my friends here, you included naturally!  LOL!
Hugs and love, Lisa
P.S.:  I want to go to that party with Betsy too!!!  I was in drama all the way through high school!

Yes, thats SO true, that you feel closer with people who you meet on the internet than the people down the street. Ive meet many friends online. I have a pen pal, and we're really good friends. We have so much in common. When we are older, we are going to meet in person. I cant wait for that day! =)

Anyway, have a great halloween, im headin down to your neck of the woods tomorrow to go to Disney. Were stayin at the Grand Floridian. Should be awesome. Happy Early Halloween, those parties should like fun, I havent been to a real halloween party in a while. Since I was little. Take Care- Enjoy the candy and fun!=)

I wish I could beam you over here for Sunday halloween then you could trick or treat in autumn weather. When I get my own house, you can visit me, then we can have some girly fun. I too thank the internet for some wonderful freinds I have made, you being one of the nicest and kindest. AOL does have it's uses :).........Jules xxx

Since we have moved often, my online friends are honestly my best friends.  I especially like our once a year weekends when we get together.  It was scary the first time but now it's like we have known each other forever.
Hope you start feeling better soon.

I understand about having your close friends far away. We move around alot, military of course, and the majority of my good close friends aren't close by. I have a couple here but sometimes its not the same. Yes thank goodness for the internet and journals :)
I hope you start feeling better soon. We have trick or treating tonight and then we need to stop by one of our friends house for a small party. I'm tired tho,lol
Have a great weekend :)

Tonight our town is doing trick or treat and here in ky its 78 and sunny. Can you believe that people are sitting on thier porches and handing out candy. Its just unreal for us. Oh man never send a girl to the mall with money!!!!!!! LOL It just cant stay in thier bilfold LOL You know what you say about being a loner. I am that way too. I actually think being a loner comes from being hurt by friends or supposed friends. Yes I too feel much closer to my special people on the internet than Those right here. I think it would be neat to have party with drinks and food and games. But its so hard to find people around here that i am close to and can be not on guard. The one friend I had has changed so much and now that shes working and does not need me I am finding out that she does not use me as often.I know see she was mostly using me. I did not see that before. So I guess that is why we are loners. Lori

Halloween is a US import that I actually quite like. I never celebrated it as a child, in fact I never saw a pumpkin until about 5 or 6 years ago. We knew it was Halloween & witches & ghosties were out & about, but didn't mark the occasion in any way. I find the whole pumpkin & trick or treat thing great fun. There are very mixed feelings about it though. A lot of people say it's begging, or demanding money with menaces! Lots of old people find it frightening. My daughter is going to a party & then out trick or treating. I'm staying home with pumpkin lanterns lit & sweets to hand out!
I know what you mean about friends....I see cosy groups of friends on TV (not so much in real life!) who have each other to dinner & socialise together & I feel quite envious. I haven't got that & I guess it must be because I prioritise other things. Also do you find that if you really like someone, your hubby doesn't get on with their hubby or vice versa? Between us we know quite a few couples, but really only get on with one of the people in the couple.
My really old friends whose hubbys I'd put up with whatever they were like, I see about once a year! Terrible!

I literally started cracking up about you not being invited to your daughters friends party. You're so funny

I really hope I was included in that group. I better be! I love ya! And I would love to come over to your party, but I suck at games, my mind goes  blank and no words come out its like i freeze. I'll just drink your wine and admire your brickabrack. And pet percy. You guys play.
