Oh Canada....

Ahhhh yes, this morning I have a special place in my heart for Canada. Why, you ask? Well, when I walked out the door to take Betsy to the bus stop, what hit me in the face but the most beautiful cold front I've ever felt! Straight from our friends up north....a Canadian cold front pushed it's way south over night. Betsy actually had to put on a sweatshirt! Me, however, I rolled down both windows and enjoyed the chill in the air. And, to top it off, what did I see in the crystal clear morning sky? A shooting star! I was turning onto my street and just happened to look up....I made a quick wish and went home to open windows. Of course, it will be 75 by the afternoon, but that's okay. I'm a morning person and you can bet your bacon (Canadian bacon of course), I'll be up early to enjoy these humidity free mornings.

Today it was "suggested" by dh that Betsy and I mow the lawn. Here is how he "suggested" it.
dh: "I filled the lawn mower with gas for Thursday."
me: "For Thursday? What do you mean?"
dh: "You know, so you and Betsy don't have to."
me: "Why would I have to fill it?"
dh: "So you have enough gas to mow."
me: *Looks at him like he's nuts and walks away.

I suppose he thought that topping off the mower would be enough incentive for me to mow. Guess what? It isn't. Only a few more weeks and we don't have to mow until the spring. There may be the odd mowing here and there in January or February if the winter is mild. But from what I've been hearing it's supposed to be a cold winter everywhere this year. Fine by me! Not only will Canada provide me wtih cool mornings, but a nice cold winter that will prevent mowings. Is there anything Canada can't do?

Hahaha I read your entry and then read your comments. I can't believe someone would use your comment section as a place to hunt for companionship. Had me laughing. Place a personal in Sherry's comment section, too funny hahaha As for your cold front, hope it stays around for you. As to the mowing? I'm like you, I don't like mowing and can't wait for winter to get here so that darn grass will stop growing. Hugs Lanny

I figured since it was warm in Florida that you had to mow all year round. Wow...so even though it's sunny and warm the grass just stops growing? What's up with that? How does the grass know what month it is? It's been chilly here for two weeks and our grass is still growing. I was thinking about mowing just to lose some weight but Im afraid I will have a heart attack. Enjoy the breeze. LOL You are hysterical. That's twice you made me laugh out loud today.

You did such a good job of the grass last time it may be your permanent job now. I quite like grass cutting, I love the smell, unless theres dog poop on the lawn I have missed!!. I can't imagine wanting it to be cooler, its strange, I would love it to be warmer but then again I dont wish to have your hurricanes thank you. Have a lovely day :).........Jules xxx

OMG, I was rolling on the floor with laughter!! Sorry, it wasn't just your talented writing that had me going.  After reading your witty way of describing the day and the mowing conversation with dh, I proceeded to read the comments.  Lanny points out that the comment before his is a personal ad ~ I was like huh, HOW?!  OMG, they did it!  Sherry your journal MUST really RATE in order to get personal ads placed here!!! Too funny.

Oh, almost forgot do you charge for personal ads!?!?

Monica, who's being BAD

Oh Canada . . . . sorry, that's all I know of their national anthem!  Should have paid more attention at those hockey games!  Hee-hee!  I am so happy you have a cold front moving in!  It is a wonderful feeling to walk out your door in the morning and have that cold air hit you in the face!  It's why I love Fall and Winter!  So refreshing!!!!
Hugs and love, Lisa
P.S.:  With the conversation your husband and you had the other day, my end would go "Oh, you filled the lawn mower with gas for Thursday?  Good, you can get right to it in the morning while I run out to do some errands.".  LOL!

Yes it's been nice here, nothing like what you're feeling though!  The cold front is supposed to push through here tonight and I can feel it now.  It's definitely cool out there.  The high for us down here is 77 tomorrow.  I can be happy with that. LOL  Yes, thank you Canada! ~Melissa

I love it when the weather turns crisp. I guess you get it much hotter over there in Florida so you must enjoy it even more!
