Busy weekend....

Whew....what a weekend. Saturday we spent the day working in the yard. I managed to get 10 wheelbarrows of leaves and pine needles....but the yard looks soooo much better. Just as we were finishing up, my parents stopped by and visited for a while. It was then that wee one decided to dress the dog up. As you can see by the pic, he's a good sport about it. Earlier in the day, wee one and her aunt took him to "Dogtoberfest" at the local dog park. He got bags of treats and coupons, and wee one got a shirt and candy. It sounded really cute. However....

They must have let him eat a lot of things he isn't used to, because what was waiting for me when I got home from the store the next day? Oh yes, lucky me I got to clean up two piles of "Percy surprise". The funny thing about it was (if there is anything funny about doggie doodle), that he had tried to get into the tub when he was feeling sick, because he knew he would need a bath! Now, if that isn't a testament to my obsessive cleaning, I don't know what is. Yes, even my dog knows if he has an accident in the house, he needs to be cleaned up....

On Sunday we went to church, then to the mall to get dh some new shoes. He has had the same pair of "funeral, wedding, party, interview" shoes since we were dating. They are plain, black loafers with a small silver buckle on the side. I figured, he was due for a new pair....lol. He got something that looked just like the other pair, minus the silver. We also got two pairs of shoes for wee one, gym shoes and the elusive "black boots" that we couldn't find last year. I had no intention of buying boots, in fact I had forgotten all about them. However, while sitting on the ground helping her try on gym shoes, I happened to look over and they had ONE pair left in her size....no others anywhere, in any other size. So, I figured the footwear gods must have been smiling down on us, and I bought them for her. Since it was buy one get one half off, and we were up to three pairs, I figured it would be silly not to get one more pair....and walked out with a casual slip on for myself. Oh, how I love shoe shopping!

From there it was off to Ruby Tuesday's for lunch (gotta love their salad bar), and then to the pumpkin patch. I have to say, I have never seen such beautiful, big pumpkins in my life! The Methodist church has this sale every year, and the pumpkins are from a Navajo reservation in NM. The proceeds go to the youth group at the church. Wee one picked her's out, and I got one for the contest. After that, it was home to work on carving. Funny thing is, it was JOHN'S project, and the kids were begging to help....but once I made the first cut; the phone rang for Betsy, wee one decided to make herself some soup, and John just HAD to study. I spent TWO HOURS doing that dang thing and I had BETTER win something! LOL....it was fun though. I love pumpkins....I was in heaven in that patch....I am not kidding when I say I could spend $100 on pumpkins alone!

I ended up going to bed around 9 last night, after doing 2 loads of laundry. Amazingly enough, I wasn't sore from the outside work until this morning! I get a night off tonight, as dh is at school and won't be home for dinner....yippee! Ramen all around....

Those pictures are just great..percy looks so cute in the halloween costume...I love it! I don't know where you get all this energy for yard work...I pull a few weeds and i'm ready to go lay down and watch some TV....

I think that's so funny that percy knows to go to the tub when he's soiled himself...it just goes to show how smart dogs are! And how well trained you have him!!
