Ahhh yes, it's Monday again. Time to say goodbye to the weekend, and hello to a blissfully quiet house....
Of course my week is jam packed with things to do....starting today with my quest to find a TI-83 calculator for my dh (you can decide what the "d" in dh stands for). Of course we had the entire weekend to do it, but did we? Noooooo. And I've seen our credit card statements, so I know dh can actually purchase things without my help, so why does this task fall to me? I'll tell you why....I'm going to the store anyway, so why not just pick one up while I'm out? Hmmmmm, well, maybe because the Office Depot is no where near where I'll be today? Or, perhaps because I have a hundred other things to do? Or maybe because IT ISN'T MY FREAKING RESPONSIBILITY?! Now, I don't mind doing things for others, trust me. I do it every day....like when I pick up dd's clothes because it's just too much to walk them to the washer, or when I finish making my teen's bed because it must be too exhausting for her to pull the covers all the way to the top of the pillow (I will never understand that one). However, dh has known for over a month that he needed the calculator. Honestly, I don't know why I'm even writing about this. These things will never change, so I might as well suck it up, and do it with a smile....
You know, today I had decided to start the week with a positive attitude. I'm going to become more organized, be less of a procrastinator, really try to enjoy my life here in the sunshine state until we can leave it behind....I guess I'm not getting off to a very good start, huh?
Okay, FOCUS....let's see....tomorrow I'm going on a field trip with wee one's class. She's looking forward to having me go, which is always nice. At least someone wants to be with me just because....I have to take Betsy for a CAT scan on Thursday for her kidneys, and I have a room mother meeting on Friday. I'm sure other things will pop up between now and then, but that's the tentative schedule....
Oh yes, as for my cough....it's still there, but not as bad. I suppose I was jumping the gun thinking it was pneumonia....or maybe I was subliminally hoping I'd get a week in bed being catered to....
Well, it's time to get wee one dressed and out the door for school, so that I can start my positive and procrastination-free day....happy freaking Monday everyone!
P.S. Did anyone happen to catch "Desparate Housewives" last night? It was really good....

GRRRRRRRRRR i wanted to see that. I was busy cleaning up from roofing!!!!!!! Lori
I watched it...you know which one you reminded me of right? LOL Wonder why that other chicky blew her head off? I liked the chick with the lawnmower. Go to the freakin' doctor.
I had to purchase one of those calculators for Bethany last year and it was a pain to find one. And, now that she has it, she is the only one that knows how to use the blessed thing since it's so technical!! Whatever happened to a 'normal' calculator anyway?!?! Field trips are always fun with the kids and actually Bethany wants me to go to NY with her chorus this year to see a play, but I am not going to NY with 3 other pre-teens as my sole responsibility! I draw the line there, I get lost in my backyard, nevermind going into a city with teenagers! AAAGGHHH! Glad you are feeling somewhat better! :)
Hugs and love, Lisa
You might be able to pick up that calculator at Walmart. Now that the "back to school" craze is gone, they usually carry them. They are costly, upwards of close to $100.00. Have fun on the field trip and a great week!
Oh,yes,I caught the show last night.I loved it.I can't wait to find out what the big secret is.What do you think it is.Good luck with the procrastination-free day.Its a good thought though.KIM
I wish I would have known you needed a TI-83, I have one collecting dust somewhere! I bought it off of Ebay for 60 bucks for a class. Happy shopping!

Monday..Monday..Monday...mondays are a drag and the pain in the rear for me!! Well I have to go study then Im off to Colorguard the busi-ness never ends!--Meg
It's an unfortunate fact of life that most husbands just ARE like that isn't it? They try...they wash up once or twice & look for praise & treats. They think they are amazing if they master ironing their own shirts...but still can only do it once a year. Your right...it's best not to even think about it, let alone talk about it, or you'd just start screaming & carry on for about 2 weeks!
And yet...they must have something or we wouldn't go along with our side of the deal...looks, sex appeal, ability with power tools???What is it??
Loved Desperate Housewives last night and can't wait for the new one! Finally a primetime soap I can sink my teeth into and alot of familiar faces :)
Well since you'll be out and about you could pick me up one of those nifty calculators too please?? lol just found out today that we will be needing one next month and I promise not to procrastinate like your DH did, altho I'm a girl so that won't happen <grin>
Have fun on the field trip and prayers for Betsy. Get well soon!
WELL, THIS IS LIFE THE WAY I START LOOKING AT THINGS. I SAY TO MYSELF, HOUSE WIFE OR THIS IS LIFE. WELL, HOUSE WIFE, GOOD SIDE TO IT. (SOMETIMES) IF YOU ARE A STAY AT HOME MOM. THAT IS REALLY A BIG HELP WITH TAKING CARE OF THE FAMILY, KIDS, WASHING, COOKING, ETC. WELL PUT IT THIS WAY, WIFE, MAID, NURSE, CARE KEEPER, ERAND RUNNER, TEACHER, PARENT, MINISTER, COACH, HEALTH EDUCATION TEACHER, ETC. THE LIST GOES ON AND ON.
MOST PEOPLE ENVEY THE WIFE THAT STAYS AT HOME AND TAKE CARE OF ALL THE ABOVE, OH, I FORGOT ABOUT THE CHEIF, BAKER, ETC. HOW MUCH DOES THIS SAVES EACH HOUSE INCOME? I THINK A LOT. I GUESS THIS IS WHY WE ARE LABELED AS HOUSEWIVES AND DEPENDENTS.!!!!!!!!!!!!! OH, IF YOU ARE A WIFE AND WORK, WOW, YOU HAVE A DOUBLE JOB. BUT, A WOMAN, CAN DO THAT ALL MORE. THAT IS WHY WE MAKE THE WORLD GO AROUND. WE SPREAD OURSELVES, LOVE AND KINDNESS AND STILL HAVE TO MAKE OR SHOULD I SAY, TAKE TIME FOR OURSELVES. GOD BLESS EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU ON THIS MONDAY. BUT ALSO, NEVER FORGET TO PRAY. NEVER.
Oh yea I was here...im not sure if i I commented but I definitly read it. Youre the shopping/errand slave. yOu are blowing off your cough..you have a school trip and a meeting this week. I remember.
Sherri you are too funny! I am sorry it took me 4 ever to get back over here to your journal. We were everywhere this weekend but home it seemed! I think I have spent two weeks in my office though so it felt good to get out. I am also trying to get out of the groove of procrastination. I have been doing an awful lot of that... making good plans and/or decisions and then I just don't follow thru because I feel exhausted, tired, zombie like or just plain old worn out. I think I'm gonna get back on vitamins, more water and salads and veggies like crazy! I also need to take more walks and get my workout. I know then things will feel like normal again to me. Ugh, the first 3 days or so is the hardest of getting into any habit though.
