I know that I've already posted an entry today, but after watching the last Dr. Phil segment, I just had to say....I think I've found my long lost sister! This woman is obsessed with vacuuming! She vacuums 4-5 times a day, and says everything is okay as long as the lines in the carpet are straight. I live by this rule! She came home from vacation and was so tired....yet needed to vacuum before resting. She is irritated when she sees footprints and feels the need to suck them up immediately. Dr. Phil said that her need to see order helps her to cope with things that she cannot control....which is so true. I might not be able to control certain situations in my life, but cleaning is an activity with a predictable outcome....it's calming....almost zen-like.
Anyway....I just thought it was interesting. And now you know just what kind of clean-freak you are dealing with here!

SHEERY???? Have you ever thought of maybe visiting Dr. Phil yourself? I mean, I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with you or such, but maybe a nice chat with him would help. I noticed your graphic was wearing a nice french maid outfit, cute. Hugs Lanny
Oh girl. . I didn't realize it was like that! LOL! how funny and probably so very true!

Hmmm, OCD possibly? I saw that one as well and actually thought she was the least strange out of all of them.
And we should be surprised by this revelation?! LOL!
Hugs and love, Lisa
Okay, I vacuum every day...okay...sometimes twice a day....but you have to in my house with all the animals...
That's my excuse and I am sticking to it!!! LOL

Sherry, Sherry, Sherry....please chill out. Just kidding! I like the freshly vacuumed floor look also, but I'm not compulsive about it. I just vacuum once a day and feel ok as long as I do it once. Now get back to work!
I really do hope you feel better. Praying for ya!

you must be related to my husband! I keep a very clean house. But he is the King of Neat I do believe. and the floors are his Biggest pet peeve. Sometimes when Im really board I will take a tiny piece of paper and toss it on the floor. Just to watch him agonize over it. and see how long it takes him to break out the vaccum cleaner!

I seen that show! I vacuum quite a bit myself but she had me beat!

I wish we lived closer so I could have you come and vacume my house!
I totally understand the vacuuming thing. When I had carpeting though I didn't like straight lines and would purposely avoid making them. I preferred fluffy zigzags. LOL But what I hate more then anything is mopping the floor making it look all pretty the kitchen tiles and seeing foot prints on it that sorta looks like breath on a mirror. I hate that! We are a lot alike except you are like this at all times and I am only like this a few days a week.
I really need to get my book published so I can stay home! I miss Dr. Phil!!!
LOL one of the things that I enjoy about AOL Journals is how DIFFERENT we all are. I think that you're a terrific writer, but I can't imagine ever developing the slightest interest in vacuming as an activity. An occasional urgent necessity, but that's about it.
I have an entire house that is crying for your attention. Sure you don't want to move back up north?
You are not going to belive this, but when I lived up north, I had a carpet I used to vacuum everytime it got footprints on it. I loved seeing it all smooth and the footprints erased. My kids thought I was mad and my family thought it was my way of handling divorce. I just liked the way it looked, freshly vacuumed. So across the pond you may have foudn a distant relative, lol. Carry on the good work :)...........Jules xxxx
