Weed whackin' momma....

What a day! I got up at 7:45 and decided to give the house a once over....which, if you have been reading for any length of time, you know ended up being a pretty good cleaning! LOL....after that I gave the dog a bath and then re-arranged the porch to accomodate my new rocking chair. I had no idea John had gotten it for me until Friday morning. I got up and opened the blinds to the sliding glass doors and there it was. I was so happy! I just love it too....last night I sat out there with the cool night breeze, a magazine and scented candles. Talk about relaxing! What a guy....

The rest of my day was spent in the back yard weeding, raking leaves, trimming the foliage, replanting, and getting things ready to put the rock in. I have to say, I did a damn good job. My feet hurt and I have a blister on my hand....but everything is ready. I need to go to Lowes and buy a few plants and maybe some lawn ornaments. I just remembered that I didn't put out my little gnome garden stakes! I'm sure my mother will be sorry to hear that (she hates my gnomes! lol).

I have two more hours until I have to pick Betsy up from work. These late nights are going to make me crazy! John worked all day today, so we are arguing over who did the most work (I think I did, being that I was outside doing physical work, and he was at his desk! lol), and who should pick her up. I told him that the deal should be that I will pick her up on weeknights, and he can do Friday and Saturday. Sounds like a pretty good deal to me.

She is really enjoying the job. This is her second day and she is already making everything on the menu, running the register, etc. Her boss is really nice and seems to like her work ethics. One thing she did forget to say when she got hired was that she has her teen bible study on Wednesday nights. The boss asked her if she was involved with anything so that she could work the schedule around her, but Bets was so nervous she forgot. Well, she went in today and told her about it, and the boss said that she will make sure not to schedule her on those nights. I thought that was really nice. I'm just so proud of Betsy for getting a job and wanting to work. She is the only one of her "group" of friends who is working now, and I know that is hard for her. She told me today that she likes the job, but wishes she were a kid again. I had to laugh at that one....

Well, I'm off to put my nightie on....seems dh has caved in and is going to pick her up....on the motorcycle no less!

I want to wish all the mom's out there a wonderful and happy Mother's day!!!! Enjoy!

Happy mother's day to you too. Wish you a lot of relaxing time on your new reclainer.
I had my first pre-natal mother's day today. My husband gave me some pink flowers on behalf of our baby to be. Everybody celebrated my mother's day at church. It is a very nice feeling. I am looking forward to elevate from mom to be to mom status.

Wow!!  That is a lot of gardening and lawn work!!  Part of my Mother's Day gift was getting the lawn mowed.  I was so happy!  It was way due!
