I scream, you scream.... oh yeah, and we also had ice cream....

I am not having a good week. My hormones decided to have a party and have invited their friends....so I am overflowing with emotions, tears, you name it. As I was driving my "typical teen" (read: smart alec daughter) to work, I contemplated stopping at the grocery store and picking up a bottle of wine for myself and escaping for a few blissful, buzzed hours. Then I remembered that I had something at home that would make me feel much better than that. Left over vicoden from my last bout of sciatica? No. What I had in mind was much better....

I decided to use my new ice cream maker and freeze my troubles away. I chose the vanilla recipe to start with....something nice and easy. It called for heavy cream, half and half, sugar, vanilla....I could feel the tension melting away as I read the recipe. I followed the directions to the "T" and I must say, it turned out quite well. Smooth, creamy and straight to my thighs. Who could ask for anything more?

Right now JB is outside working on the tree house for wee one. She is at church with her friend and, as I said, Betsy is at work. Yes, I've got a free and quiet night with the hubby and he is outside working off his frustration from the day. I should be enjoying these nights as next Friday is my last day of freedom. The girls will be home at noon....and won't return to school until next August. Where did this year go? I am amazed at how fast it went. Betsy gets her first paycheck on Friday, and I told her that she can do whatever she wants with it....and then the rest of her paychecks will be split between her checking account and car insurance. It's just amazing to me that I have a child who is now in the work force.

Anyhoo....

Completely off topic: My desk had a bunch of scratches on it and it was driving me nuts. So, today I took a brown marker and colored for an hour or so. Let me just say that it looks pretty dang good. My mom said that you are supposed to make a paste consisting of instant coffee andwater and rub that into the scratches. That would never work for me....I'd be journaling and licking the desktop all evening.

Well, I suppose I should go now. I have a load in the dryer that I should take out, and one to put in. But I really don't feel like doing it. Let's take bets on weather or not I actually do the remainder of the laundry, and finish tonight....or leave it for the morning. Come on....it'll be fun. Winner gets a bowl of ice cream and a dusty donut!

I sure do hope you are feeling better. I get like that a lot. LOL But I don't have an icecream maker anyway and If i did ronnie would use it and trash the place with it. There would be icecream on the walls and the cabinets on the floor all over briannas face. It would be strewn across plates in cabinets that were never used. There would be icecream fingerprints on the microwave door, the fridge handle and the fork and spoon draw handle. It would be on his clothes, briannas clothes and the dogs coat. So I'm grateful I don't have one. I'll stick to the alcohol thank you very much. LOL
How in the world do you think you are going to get betsy to save half? Pay half her car insurance? I told mine I wanted 25 a week from her to start saving for car insurance and she told me, "NO WAY."

I vote you did the laundry....and then had some more ice cream!  My kids still have over a month of school left.  No complaining from me!  (LOL!)  I love those kids...just not up my butt every single day! (LOL!!)  DD#1 gets her license in August and although I keep saying I can't wait, I know deep down it will be sad because she won't need me to drive her around anymore and alot of our time together will be gone.  Kind of that "be careful what you wish for" thing.  But, I'll just have to find some new things to keep me busy!  Plus, I'm trying to come up with some kind of "car" rules.  Like, you want to drive the car, you'll have to have dinner with us at least twice a week...hmmm....ever see the Gilmore Girls?  Maybe that grandmother is on to something......

I love your entries, you always have a way of making me laugh or just cheering me up even- if for just a little while.  I visit your journal often.   If it were me I probably would have taken the vicoden, but ice cream isnt a bad idea either.
School gets out early there.  They dont get out here till June 8th.
Oh, and by the way-- i bet you finished the laundry before going to bed.  Am I right?  I am arent I?!!!LOL!!!
Hugs,
Angel

Yummy, ice cream.  Got any chocolate!?!?!  There is this recipe that my DH's family always does.  It calls for 6 bottles of Yohoo and I forget the rest...lol.  But it makes some seriously good chocolate ice cream!!*~*Emily
