I had all sorts of things to write about....but now that I'm sitting here I can't remember any of them. I suppose being that it's just past five am isn't helping. The stupid dog woke me up, shaking his head every two seconds. Apparently, he is having ear issues again. I tell ya, that dog has more ear infections than fifteen three year olds!
Did anyone happen to catch Oprah yesterday? I don't usually watch her since, well, I don't like her, but she had a woman on who wrote the newest hot selling diet book about French women being skinny. I wanted to see what their secret was. Apparently, they do not see food as "bad" or "wrong". They eat what they want, and (here's the key) STOP when they feel satisfied. In other words, if they want a chocolate eclair, they eat one....but put it down half way through because they have already experience the taste and smell. Here's my problem. Who in their RIGHT MIND would waste half a freaking eclair???? Therein lies the difference....
They also have a three bite rule. You get your plate, you take three bites of everything and then you are done. There was no talk of how big your bites should be....are we talking dainty little bird-like bites, or "I haven't eaten all day nevermind the fork just tip the plate into my mouth" sized bites.
Truthfully though, what she said was pretty smart. Enjoy good, wholesome foods and eat slowly, savoring every bite. Your fullness will register sooner and you can have what you like. They don't snack on chips or processed food, but good cheese or yogurt. And if you go out and eat a big dinner, you don't have to have a huge breakfast in the morning. It's about balance. And there are no "bad" foods. Carbs are good, fats are good, protien is good. Just in moderate amounts. They had an American woman on who actually lost 23 lbs. eating this way. Ithink you would have a hard time in the beginning with will power, and recognizing when you feel full. But beyond that, it just may work.
I have to make 34 ice cream cone cupcakes for school tomorrow. (how's that for a segue?) I bought the colored cones for a bit of flare. I do need to go get some frosting though. No, I am not going to whip up a batch of homemade frosting....wayyyyy too much work. LOL. Wee one has been working on her makeup for two days now. Her talent show act will be with her little friend, singing a "Spice Girls" song. She will, of course, be Baby Spice, complete with a Union Jack shirt and plaid skirt. However, she has not yet decided between the "shocking red" and "flaming pink" lipstick. I told her how about just wearing some glittery lip gloss. You can only imagine her response....
Well, I hear Betsy's alarm going off so I suppose I should get ready to take her to the bus stop. Have a lovely Wednesday everyone....

Now post pics of wee one as baby spice. Reminds me a ineed to download some songs of thiers LOL I have heard htat diet before and if it works for you great. I think what ever works is fine I ll send you this one that has worked for the girls. They love it and I can see why. Its a threehour diet. LOL NOT what it sounds like but its more do able if that is a word..................
My train does that often. Oh if I could only remember all those wonderful things I was going to write when I get home or when I get up or when everyone leaves. The diet sounds a lot like "The Weighdown Workshop" a Bible based plan. You are right on the button when you say "It's all about balance".
I have heard quite a lot about french women and their diet. I can't imagine just eating 3 mouthfuls of everything on a plate, what a waste, especially if you have taken the time and effort to cook it and its yummy. Maybe we should only cook enough for 3 mouthfuls each, lol. I was watching a prog on MCDonalds and in the french version the adult meals are the same size as our happy meals, bit a a swizz eh, lol. Hope you have a good day.........Jules xxxxx

Only eating half an eclair-- man that would be so hard to do!! I saw that French woman on tv not long ago on another show but I cant remember which show it was. I dont usually watch Oprah either. Never did like her show much.
ice cream cone cupcakes sure do sound good. I remember having those when I was a kid.

Hmmm...interesting. Did they say anything about the huge bowl of M&M's that must be on my desk at all times or I will go psycho without my daily...hourly...minute fix? LOL
*hugs*
Dont laugh, but I saw that episode and I went right on amazon and bought the book and had it expressed to me...it's sitting right here...i'll let you know what I think of it
I love the information on the French ladies and their eating habits. I think you are right... it might just work. Hey, 23 lbs is 23 lbs!! Must be worth a try. Love the train graphic!! Hugs,
Lisa
Hmmm, I was just thinking about a diet to go on, maybe I will try this new French diet! Since, I hate actually eating, the 3 bite rule sounds good. But, then again, I do love my Devil Dogs at night, and 3 bites isn't going to cut it! I hope your cupcakes turned out good! And, who wants homemade frosting? Kids want the sugary stuff woman!!!! Love the idea with the colored cones! You go girl! :)
Hugs and love, Lisa
