Phun at the Pharmacy....

I spent my morning and early afternoon at the doctor's office and pharmacy. The doc's office was packed. Seems strep is running rampant in the sunshine state. They've even had a few cases that have advanced to scarlet fever. However, I have nothing as dramatic as that thankfully....just a sinus infection. I was blessed by the "antibiotic gods" and given a prescription, which I took straight to my local Walgreens. I got there at 11:10 and was told, "Give us about 20 minutes." Apparently their definition of "about" is quite different than mine. Around noon the guy at the counter asked my name again and said, "Did they tell you we are out of one of the medications?" I just look at him...."Noooooo, they didn't." Well, he went back and checked and apparently they weren't out, they didn't have the correct dosage. The problem, however was fixed, and I took my purchases up to pay. I had picked up some Sudafed for wee one who woke up coughing and sneezing, and some cough drops. The guy rings it up and, of course, asks if I know how much the Sudafed is because after his 73rd scan, it still won't register. I looked at him and said, "I think it was on sale for a dollar," to which he replied, "You know, I think you are right." Gooood answer my man. So, I ended up getting my $6 bottle of Sudafed for a buck. Not bad.

So here I sit, my poor, sick little self....eating a happy meal from McDonalds. It was pretty good, and I even got an Incredibles toy! I will, of course, give it to wee one....although I'll have to explain why I have it in the first place.

Tonight is school night for dh, which means leftover night for the kiddles....yippee! I've got the night off from slaving over a hot stove....

Okay, I'm outta here....have a good one!

That's too funny that the cashier listened to you!!!  They never do that for me!!  Glad he didn't mess with you after having to wait that long though!  Hope you are feeling better within the next 48 hours (when the meds start working, get it?).
Hugs and love, Lisa

Great deal on the sudafed. You should be feeling better in about 3 days and the meds will continue to work in your system about a week after that. Sleep tight my friend!

Strep does seem to be bad this year.  I can't believe you got the Sudafed for a buck!  That is great.  I love lazy cashiers. LOL  I know you already gave the toy to wee-one, but it would've been funny to tell her you were a good girl at the doctor so you got to pick a prize out of the treasure chest. ~Melissa

OMGracious.  I love the Wal*Mart story!  Too funny. . . I am so glad the guy went with it for you (and his) relief!    Have you seen The Incredibles yet?  I think I may actually make an event out of it this weekend and take the kids to the movie AND McDonald's for the toys. . .We don't ever eat there, but I want the TOYS!  Thanks for the hint. . . Cya, Kris  PS  Hope that you are all soon feeling better. . .

Kara was here. The links in my emails aren't working at all. I click and click and nothing opens up. So much for alerts. So I'm clicking off my journal back and forth like the olden days.

oh goodie!  McDonald's is giving out "The Incredibles" toys!  I didn't know.  The ones here in Pennsylvania have been giving out those little girl dolls for awhile now.  I hope they switched as well.  I'm going to find out asap.  I took my two children (ages 3 and 11) to see the movie, and although it was a bit long, I found it to be rather entertaining.  I also suffer from sinus problems, so I can totally commiserate.  And a sick child truly stinks.  Nothing I hate more.  Sending you best wishes for a healthy clan very soon.  love, Anna
