Tonight dh and I went out and bought ourselves a little something....since we have thouroughly worn out our old mattress, we took advantage of a 4th of July sale and bought a new mattress/box spring set! Now, before you go high fiving John and "Oh, you little minx"-ing me....it is worn out because we have had it for 16 years. Yeah....no exciting reasons behind the need for a new one. Although, I'm not saying it hasn't seen it's share of fun times....lol.
I'm so excited though. We went through the store and laid on several different models (of beds....not actual human models....although that would have made the experience a lot more fun!). They will be delivering our new set on Wednesday....and taking away "old faithful".
We also went out for a quick bite with my mom and Betsy. We went to a restaurant called Mama Fu's. The menu consists of Asian cuisine....pot stickers and such. Let me just say this....do not ever go there. It was HORRIBLE. I should have taken my money and thrown it out the car window....at least then it would have the chance of making someone happy! I can't tell you how bad the food was....yuck.
Wee one had quite a day. She started out at VBS, went to her friend's house and swam until 4:30, then headed to the carnival that concluded the VBS program. She got home around 8:00. The kid is exhausted! She had such a good time though. She wore the t-shirt they made which says Jesus and has an American flag on it. It is so cute! She came in, held it up and said, "Papa would be so proud of me!" Awwwww, he sure would have been! I am so glad she had such a good time this week.
I should get my butt to bed, as Betsy has the morning shift tomorrow. Night all....

Congrats on the new mattress. We purchased our new mattress this year too and it was one of the best things we ever did. I sleep so much better and ours was only about 10 years old but it was just no good anymore. Beautiful candles! I hate when that happens and you go to a new restaurant or somewhere different and it really was awful and a waste of money.

Sonny and I need a new mattress - his has to be at least 200 years old! OK, maybe I exaggerated a wee bit - it's about HUNDRED years old. ::sigh::
Congrats on the new mattress - have FUN!!! ;-)

It's not that I like to cling on to "stuff" but I think I'd have to stuff my old lumpy mattress in the attic. After all mine's probably steeped in litres of amniotic fluid and blood! (After 3 hospital births where I felt like a captured whale I had the others at home!) Of course, I did try to get the stains out (Oxy clean and a damp sponge work wonders!) but who knows what DNA lurks amongst the springs and foam. Anyway, I don't think Dan and I will be going bed shopping anytime soon (he's hardly ever in it!!) By the way, my weights all beneath the shoulders!!

ah a new mattress is so neat. I love that I wouldl ove to have one ours is about 7 years old but before that we always had used ones that were 30 + years old hand me downs (FROM FAMILY Of ocurse) So anywayI bet you guys will have a breaking in part next week WINK WINK LOL love the gift you got how sweet. So neat to get something from someon e in another state and something that you cant find in your area. that is so sweet. I would cherish something like that forever no matter how small or big.
I bet you will absolutely love the new bed. Doesn't it feel strange lying on the beds in the store? I just feel like a dork. LOL
I will be sure to stear clear of Mama Fu's if I'm ever up that way.
The candle holders are beautiful and Happy Birthday Sherry!!!! ~Melissa

Don't you just hate when you go to a new place and it ends up being a bomb! I hate when that happens...

I wouldn't trade my pillow top for anything!! We just got it. It is so hard getting used to a new one at first though. It is for me anyway.
My hubby just got to go on day shift at work. I now have to get used to him being in the bed with me at night. It is proving to be harder than I thought. I am okay if I go to sleep first so I don't have to hear snoring. Funny thing is, he says the same thing. LOL....
keep writing and I will keep reading...
