Happy Halloween!!!!

I can't believe another Halloween is here. It seems like just yesterday it was summer....oh, wait....it is always summere here! LOL....truthfully though, we have had the most wonderful weather here lately. Of course, I just took a gander at the seven day forecast and....appropriately enough, it was quite scary. We are looking at high 70's with a chance for 84 on Saturday. Yuck.

I'm not sure what the plan is for this evening. Every year we go to my mom's to trick or treat, and then enjoy a chili supper afterward. However, this year wee one wants to trick or treat with the kids in the neighborhood. I hope that mom will be okay with that, and come here for the chili. I know she wants to be home part of the time to give out the candy she bought....although she could just empty the candy into a bowl and have the kids serve themselves. We don't get many kids here at our house. Since we are on a cul-de-sac, and there are no other streets in our neighborhood, the kids tend to skip us altogether, and head out to neighborhoods with more houses. Which, of course, means lots of extra candy for us!

I feel bad because wee one's class did not plan anything for today. No party or "autumn activity"....we must be politically correct here.....for the kids to enjoy. See what happens when I'm not in charge? LOL....wee one told me that they would have a much better time if I had "signed the sheet before that woman did!" I told her I was across the room at orientation when the room mother sheet was passed around....but apparently she thought I should have taken a running start and dove for it across the room. LOL....oh well.

Betsy had a great time at her Halloween party on Saturday night. She said that there was a great turnout. One of her best friends was hosting the party, and her dad allowed the girls to decorate however they wanted. They had tombstones and balloons, and candy galore. They watched scary movies and the dad even made steamed oysters! The kids dressed up, and apparently Betsy was a hit as Daria. Of course, she failed to take her camera....grrrrr....but said that her friend took pictures. I will post them when she gets a copy. I'm glad that they got to do this. It was one of those fun "teen" parties I remember as a kid. And props to the single dad who hosted it....he is of the belief that the kids should enjoy their teen years, and does what he can to make it happen. Obviously, Betsy won't be trick or treating tonight. She will probably be the designated "candy hander outer"....

Okay, I'm off to clean this scary mess of a house....seems as though the dirt devils were out this weekend....Have a SPOOKTACULAR Halloween!!!!

Hope you have a nice Halloween today....my kids aren't trick or treating this year...we bought a bunch of candy for the trick or treaters and they said that's good enough for them, they'll just eat that...

With that attitude, that single dad is going to be snatched up in no time at all. What a doll!
Happy Halloween Sherry! Try not to eat to much of that candy and get constipated...oh wait..that must be what the chili is for. LOL

We are on a cul-de-sac also and I always put out a bowl of candy and ask that the kids take one little bag I make up each, but of course, they are probably gone with the first few trick or treaters because we have mostly teens on this road.  Sigh.  We go over to another road that has a big loop and is very family orientated.  The kids LOVE it!  Bethany is probably not trick or treating this year, but she will be with us, I am not leaving her home alone that's for sure.  Hope you have a great night with your Momma!  HAPPY HALLOWEENIE!!!
Hugs and love,
Lisa

Have a great day.  It is pouring rain here, our first cold halloween in 6 years since we moved to a cooler climate.  Not sure how many kids we'll get but I have a TON of candy JIC.

Trick Or Treat

We don't get many trick or treaters either!  We're way down at the end of a (dark) street.  I just leave out a cauldron of goodies and head off with my own monsters...  <g>
Happy Halloween!

when we use to do trick or treat i sat a bowl out and let to moms came back........ becuasei forgot something now you know mom lives over the hill. it was all gone six bags of cand large bags!!!!!!!!
I quit doing it. see our subdivisin just grows and we have three new aditions on it. so the cars are lined up going down the street they come in car loads and bombard our neighborhood from the country and other places. I gave up when it became like a circus. that on top of the fact that there is so much evil with so much nastyness going on in our town on that night with cars egged and  things done to property so we shut our doors windows and curtians and blinds turn out oru porch lights and have our own little party we do a few verses and watch a video or play games. . sounds like your kids had a wonderful time and great fun. IM glad they did. I think it should be mainly the NIEGHBORhood kids or families. we have non stop line of cars bumper to bumper for 2 hours. ugh the noise too!!!!! woudl not be bad if it were just neighborhood kids. Cant wiat to see the pics.

Happy Halloween!!  Hope Wee One has lots of fun trick or treating!!   That's sad that Wee One didnt get to have a halloween party in school. Some of my best memories of Elementary school is the Halloween parties and getting to dress up. It was always so much fun.  Things just arent how they use to be-- so sad!!
Have a great day.

So no trick or treating for us. Which sucks cuz I spent forever on their costumes! My poor fingers! Hope you and the fam enjoy the rest of your halloween!!
