Ahhhh, relaxation. I've been going a mile a minute all day, and it feels good to sit down for a bit. I just finished cleaning out my makeup carrier....my brushes are clean, the pencil shavings are gone, and the lipstick smudges are history....nothing but shiny cosmetics as far as the eye can see. I went out today and purchased some mascera, foundation and powder, lip gloss and eyeshadow. Why does it seem that it all runs out at once? I've always been fascinated by makeup. My aunt introduced me to it as a child, and since the age of 12 I have rarely been seen without my face on. I don't wear tons, but enough that if you saw me without it you would ask if I felt alright, because I seem pale. The one thing I could never live without, my cosmetic of choice would be my lipstick. I love lipstick. You will NEVER see me without it. It's so versitile; have to run to the store early in the morning? Lipstick and sunglasses. Bus stop? Lipstick and sunglasses. It just makes me feel good. Of course, I can't wear lipstick without first putting on my Natural Ice lip balm. My lips actually get thirsty if I don't put it on. I layer it on every night before bed....why? Because I don't ever want those "old lady lips". You know the ones....with the dry lines around them that the lipstick seeps into as the day goes on. I've been slathering the goop on at night for as long as I can remember....we're talking 7 or 8 years old. I must have had a bad experience in my childhood where an old woman kissed me and I saw the lips....
I'm also fanatical about tweezing. I can not have stray hairs around my eyebrows. The arches must form a perfect half moon....yes, I've been known to measure them. It is one of the first things I notice when I meet someone....are the eyebrows groomed. I'm not judgemental about it....just curious. I think everyone has something they notice when they first meet someone. Teeth, eye color, hairstyle....whatever.
I've been washing and packing today. Dh gave me a list of what needs to be packed, (however, I wonder why if he can write it, he can't do it....), and I have a few things still in the wash that I will finish up tomorrow. The grass will have to be cut when we return, as it hasn't stopped raining long enough to dry out. We will most likely come home to a jungle! The dog has his babysitters in order, and I bought him some food today. It's funny, but I think he knows when we are leaving. He gets upset, and sits in the corner, ignoring us. Poor guy. Actually, I wouldn't mind taking him....but I don't know how well he'd do on the long ride.
Well, it's after ten, and dh is going to bed. I'm gonna finish up here and head there myself. If I don't write tomorrow, I'll be sending in audio entries from the road....now there's something to look forward to....weather reports from somewhere other than Jacksonville....yippee!

Have a safe trip...and have lots of fun!!! Julie
I'm laughing! I hardly ever wear makeup and my eyebrows are always with that five oclock shadow because I shave them <afraid of the tweezer> But lipstick is great but if I had to choose the best item I would go with mascara. You can always pinch your cheeks to make them pink in a hurry if ya had to. And squeeze your lips together tight to make them red. But you can't do nothing to get your eyelashes to stand out except mascara. Just how my mind works. I'm a freak about glopping lotion on at night too the past year. I don't wanna wrinkle up anywhere. You better send in audios from the road!
I'll look forward to your audio entries and can't wait to hear about what you are seeing or the weather going on somewhere down the road! I for one, HATE lipstick! Always have had big lips and when I put lipstick on, they feel even bigger! But, you are right, with lipstick on you at least look like you are made up to start your day! My mother constantly told me to put "some lipstick on" before leaving the house, but I never did. Guess it's the rebel in me!! I do notice that your momma likes lipstick too, so it must run in the family! Hope you have a pleasant trip and I can't wait to hear your entries!!!
Hugs and love, Lisa
P.S.: My eyebrows are also plucked by my own hand, and no, I have never measured, so they probably aren't exactly perfect! LOL!
Best of luck to have a wonderful trip!! I am not a lip stick wearer myself, though I do find it awesome on so many people..I think Im afraid of looking "those" people who have no idea what they really are looking like with thet crazy color on!! haha...My choice is chapstick alone, and I always feel better with my eyeliner on...My eyes are big and blue, so if I put the eyeliner on it draws the attention from my unmakeuped (is that a word?..haha) face...

All my make up in my make up box is so old cause I never use it. Sometimes I put make up on and think "Well that didnt work" and I take it back off.
This entry was enlightening and entertaining. I'll remember to pluck my eyebrows if I ever have the opportunity to meet you in person. hehe I've often thought you are a lovely woman that takes good care of herself. What an example you are to your girls. :) Have fun today.
Have a wonderful vacation! Angie
Ps...sometimes I wonder where in the heck you come up with some of these topics...lol...keep it up, I'm amused!
I tend to only wear make up when I go out. I do the lotions and gloop at night though. I do my eyebrows but don't like doing it as it hurts, but I suffer, lol
Hope you have a lovely trip and I look forward to the audio entrys....Jules xx
Im a stay at home mom too. Yes if I had to keep one it would be lip stick. No contest. That and yes a pair of sunglasses in a hurry will do ya. We take our dogs on vacation with us. They do okay on trips they seem to understand. I cant leave my fur babies. most places are very dog freindly now too. Ihave tons ofpics of them on our camping trip last weekend. We go once a month till oct sometime. Okay now sneaking out for a ice cream. AT SONIC> well have you tried that chocolate blizzard sonic has. OH MAN for a chocoholic its great. its called smores. Me and hubby snuck out and got one alone about two weeks ago and still crave it. We are finally getting our pool in shape. It kept being cool and raining up here in ky. I like the title of your journal. SECRET life is right becuase everyone has false impressions of what I do all day. Right now taking care of my grandmother and her house is a fulll time job!!!!!! she lives twohouses down. SHE Isa handful. But even without that I am busy on the run all the time. I love your community journal love scene. Man you got some writing skills going on there. I thought about trying to finish it but no way could I continue on. It was quite steamy. Have a good time on your vacation. Lori
I saw your daughters journal. nice to see kids talk kindly of their dad. My husband earns the dough and works on cars and remodels our house when I come up with crazy ideas and is always there for us. My daughters did a fathers day entry for thier dad too. Tracy is 23 and Rachael is 16. THey both have journals and love doing them. Lori
I don't usually wear makeup in the summer. I tan pretty good, even with sunblock on and with all this GA humidity sweating it off is just ick. I do put it on if we are going somewhere though. Never was a lipstick wearer but I have a pale lip gloss that I like and I love my blistex :)
I hope you have a great trip!
Mom, you were always a makeup fanatic...I inherited your trait, altho, I did not get the lipstick trait.. I hate that stuff, and I know you want me to wear it, but ICK! I prefer the regular chapstick.. I don't really even need it..I've got the all natural look to me...I've got nice red lips, dark blue eyes, and perfectly curled eye lashes..don't we all wish we had them Mother? hehe I guess I'm just one of those naturally beautiful women from a natural beautiful Mom..(join me in an AAAWWWW!) I appreciate you doing my eyebrows as well, I hate stay hairs, bugs the crap out of me and you know it..I hope.. I can't wait for this trip and I'm gunna miss Percy...
~Your Dd~
Love the lippie animation! I'm terrible at make up! Your photos always show you looking very well groomed (& tweezered). God knows how you get your eyebrows equal....I always realise one's slightly thinner when I do mine. Well done you...perhaps you could teach classes...there's a career thought!
I wish I could be this way about make-up! I wear it if I'm going out, going to church, or something like that--but other than that, I'm bare-faced! I love the way I look when I'm "all dolled up", but I just don't get that way too often! Love, Kim :o)
Well I'll let you know if you ever meet me, be prepared for untweezed brows. I am 41 and have only had my eyebrows shaped once and never kept up with the tweezing. I always think about it, but the pain makes me shiver.
