Pics of the trip....

Here are a few of the pictures I took on our vacation. Upon viewing them, I have come to the conclusion that I am NOT a photographer. Blurry, dark....*sigh. Here's hoping the ones I took on the regular camera turned out better.

I think I have a cold. Who gets a cold in 100 degree weather? I got up this morning and was thinking, why am I so dang tired? Why does my head hurt, my sinuses pound and my eyes feel grainy? The feeling has lasted all day, and I've been sneezing too. However, I managed to clean the house, do 5 loads of wash, go to the post office, pick up my mom's car so dh can take it in tomorrow to get the air fixed, go grocery shopping, fix dinner and now, wee one is having a friend spend the night. At least I know she will not be bored this evening. Betsy is in her room watching a movie, and dh is sacked out in front of the tv. I still have a mound of bills to pay, a checkbook to balance and clothes to put away. The vacation is definately over.

I can't believe it will be July in 2 days. That means on Saturday I will have to change my "about me" section. I will be 35. A true "mid-thirties" woman. My last year to check the little "25-35" box on surveys. The age I thought was so old when I was a teen. It's the age of hair dye, botox and the first signs of the dreaded "bleeding lipstick lips". I will be five years from 40, ten years from 45 and fifteen years from the big 50. It's amazing that I am getting older....because I don't feel it. I'm not complaining, mind you....just wondering where the time went. My teen years are gone....my babies are growing up....I'll have a 20 year old in four years for pete's sake. Well, okay, there's something to be happy about. I'll only be 39 with a 20 year old....lol.

John was just in Betsy's room, speaking in a hushed voice. I am assuming he is questioning her about what I would like as a gift. You would think the man I've been married to for 16 years would know what I like by now. Sheesh. Sometimes I wonder....I never have trouble buying him gifts. I suppose that is because I pay attention. How freaking hard is that? Oh well....I suppose I should just be happy he remembered.

You mean YOU get presents?!?!  Man, I am definately living in the wrong house!  I never get presents on my birthday!  Wahhhh!  The pictures were beautiful by the way, and NC is definately scenic!  Your Aunt Connie is much younger than I thought she would be for some reason or she is just very well preserved, LOL!  And, whenever I go on any type of vacation, even to Pennsylvania, I always end up with a "cold", but I think it's more of a change in the temp and allergens than a true cold.  You will adjust in another day or so.  And, another thing, you can look at turning 35 as being on the young end of the new bracket you will be filling out in surveys that have the age "35-44" range!  And, start saving up for that botox now, I hear it has to be repeated every few months or so.  Hee-hee, I am such a little devil!
Hugs and love, Lisa

Men are all the same when it comes to gifts, they are clueless. At least he hasn't told you to buy your own, then expect you to look all surprised when you upwrap it, knowing whats inside!!!
I love the photos, its looks a beautiful place.......Jules xx

Oh your aunts street is beautiful!  I couldn't imagine pulling out of my driveway and seeing that everyday.  I can't believe you came home and did all that work in one day!  I'm exhausted just from reading about all that cleaning. LOL ~Melissa

I had forgotten all about the 'nasty' grass in Florida where you can't walk barefoot on.  I enjoyed looking at the pictures and seeing your family.  NC IS beautiful from what I remember.  It's been way too many years since I've been.

Thanks for sharing NC with us. :)

We are not getting old.  We're becoming wiser.  That doesn't happen for husbands.  They get old, but they are as clueless about birthday gifts after 20 years as they were when they were dating us.  Alas.  That's why I just tell mine what I want or ask for a gift card.  Everyone wins.

Happy birthday!  And I hope you feel better soon.

Nice pics  . we are alot the same. I also will be 35 this year, except my oldest baby will turn 20 when I'm 37(and 1/2) LOL.I now have a 1 year old and have assumed the role of stay at home MOM.......Hail to all those Moms who choose to stay home I think it's much harder than going to work outside the home.......No breaks, no sick time, no paid vacation......Not even a paycheck...but the rewards are endless.....MC
