It's been a slow day here in journal land. I can usually count on at least fifteen or so new entry alerts in my mail box, but not today. I forget that kids are still in school in most of the country. Year end parties and festivities are still going on, and excitement runs rampant among the children as they wait for summer vacation....we are into week #2 of summer vacation here, and let me tell you, the excitement has worn off already. Wee one told me today that she can't remember what day it is....(unfortunately, I can never remember what day it is during the entire year!).
Betsy received her report card in the mail today. She got all B's, and I'm quite proud of her. She was in gifted classes this year, and the work was extremely hard. She studied at least three times a week, which for her is a lot. She is one of those lucky kids who don't have to crack a book, yet still gets an A. I was looking through her math book, and I couldn't believe freshmen were learning these things. Of course, I can't remember how many quarts are in a gallon....
I made an exceptionally good dinner tonight....and I wasn't even trying. I was rummaging around the pantry at around 4:30, and found a box of oven ready lasagna noodles. On the side was a recipe where you mixed ricotta cheese, mozzerella cheese, egg and spices, then roll it in the noodles and cook it with sauce and cheese on top. It turned out wonderfully! I tossed a salad and had rolls with it....it was a hit. Dh and Betsy cleaned their plates. My little italian food lover was at her Grammy's, so she missed out on my masterpiece. However, I'm sure she will have some for lunch tomorrow.
We ended up taking the truck for a spin to my parent's house. It started to storm, so wee one decided to come home with us. She was panicky that it would storm and she would be scared and need me.....how sweet! Of course, half way home she decided she really wantedto stay, and was mad for the next hour. Some Breyer's vanilla and Hershey's syrup fixed her right up! I had some too, in my British mug.....mmmmmm.
Hey, I just got an e-mail saying I was being featured in the Women's Community. I didn't even know there was one. I am a small blurb at the bottom with a link to my journal. How cool. Thank you Alice Mask, Assistant Program Manager, AOL Communities, Inc. I appreciate it! I'm also on Local Talk. Monica was featured there last week, and had a wonderful picture of her family, along with a link to her gambling boat entry. I loved that entry. But then, everything Monica writes is fun and exciting. I wonder how they decide to put people on these pages. I wonder how you get a job with AOL, choosing people to be on these pages???? LOL....
Well, enough rambling for this evening. It's after 11 and almost time for Family Guy. I love that show. Goodnight all.....sleep tight.....don't let the bed bugs bite....

Congrats on your journal!!! I know...you are like TOTALLY PSYCHED, but kinda embarassed about HOW psyched you really are?....lol...at least we have an addiction that won't hurt our lungs, or cause us to go to jail...though we may be getting carpl-tunnel soon...haha

Congrats my friend! I love reading this journal, and obviously so do the people on the AOL selection board, or whatever it's called. You are a great writer with a quick wit. That's an irresistable combination. Have fun! :) Kimmie
Congrats on being featured in two places! Wowee you're getting famous. I wonder if you'll ever walk down the street and someone will say, "Hey, I read your journal!" LOL now wouldn't that be something.
I think the alerts aren't working today because I've visited my regular journals that have I have alerts set for and they had entries, but I didn't have alerts.
I love your snail animation. Congratulations on getting featured! It's exciting to be chosen for things isn't it! FAME!
Congrats on being featured :)
Yah for Betsy getting good grades on her report card.
mmm your dinner sounds really good. I was lazy last night and we had BLT's,lol.
WOW! So, how many times has this been now that you have been featured? Three, Four? That is great!! I also made that recipe on the lasagna noodles, but it didn't come out as great as yours did. Hmmm, wonder why. Congrats to Betsy for getting all "B's" on her report card! I know how hard 6th grade math is, never mind freshman math. I stopped helping my oldest in 4th grade because it was already too hard for me! 14 more days until school ends over this way. Gee, can't wait! NOT!
Hugs and love, Lisa
You are featured everywhere! That is great though, your journal is wonderful.
Oh that dinner sounds great. I bet my kids wouldn't touch it though, they are freaks.
I can't believe you bought a Ford! Oh well, I won't hold it against you. LOL Will that little truck pull the boat or do you use something else?
I sure wish we'd get some rain. I finally had to get the Spongebob sprinkler out on my grass yesterday. ~Melissa
Your dinner sounds wonderful. I cooked a big meal last night and no one was even home except for me and hub and younger daughter later on...I really hate when that happens...I think this summer is going to fly by...at least I hope so. Congrats on being featured. I will check it out later...
