Obviously I was bored last night, and decided to photograph dinner as I made it. It was too hot for anything heavy, so I made fried chicken salad. It turned out pretty well....everyone enjoyed it.
Then next few pictures are from today. This is wee one's friend who, whenever she is over, finds a myriad of critters; tree frogs, lizards, dragon flies, and snails. (And yes, they are "catch and release" only) They have such a good time together, I love having her over. They swam together, ate lunch, played inside, took the butterfly net outside and ran around....truly a lazy summer day. Oh to be young and frivolous again! Unfortunately, I must have picked up Brianna's virus from Kara's entry....and passed it on to wee one, as right now she is covered up, shivering, with a stuffy nose and scratchy throat. Poor baby. She is also watching her most favorite show....Full House. She is obsessed with it. She watches an hour in the morning, and an hour at night. Becky is getting ready to have the twins, and wee one can't wait. It's funny how she is so into the show, becuase when Betsy was a baby, the show was popular and people always said she looked just like "Michelle Tanner from Full House".
I am looking forward to my stint as writer for the Community Storybook. However, I am surrounded by wonderful and talented writers, and I hope I am able to contribute something as good as they have.
Well, I hear wee one calling...."Mommy....I need someone to take care of me...." She always knows just what to say.

Dinner looked great. The snails, ICK! We have lots of snails around here and they leave their slimy trails all over the place. I hope Wee One isn't sick for too long.
The storybook is really great and you'll do a wonderful job.
Dinner looked yummy...glad you weren't having snails! lol
Caitlin's been watching Full House and thinks John Stamos is cute....hmmm so did I when I was watching it but don't tell her that or you'll get "the look"!
Hope wee one feels better soon.
My girls watch Full House for the hour in the morning and at night on Nick. They also watch 1 episode at lunch time and another hour around dinner time. We've pry seen every show 3 or 4 times already! LOL
That salad does look good. Those girls are brave to catch insects. Most would just scream and run away. ~Melissa
hi, your dinner looks brill, a recipe would be nice as we don't have fried checken over here in the UK as much as you do in USA, it does look delicious. The snails look cute and remind me of a lovely summer when my daughter and her friend had about 20 in a snail farm. They used her puppy in my pocket house for them and even at one time had them on a tiny version of a fairground wheel, poor things. They all lived through the summer and kept off my plants and were released again into the wild once Natalie had goen back to school.
Your writing for Community storybook sounds fun, good luck with it :)
ps I posted from my ordinary name and not hosty name today, I tend to forget which account I am on, lol
THANK YOU! ((((((Sherry)))))
Im looking foreward to your part in the story too. That snail is gross. But i Loved watching you make dinner!
When I read the title, I was afraid you were serving "escargot" (isn't that how you spell it?!)--you know--fancy snails! The chicken salad looked delicious! Can't say the same for the "critters", though! Love, Kim :o)
Awww! I love snails. I aquired three giant snails when my daughter bought them in a petshop & then neglected them. They lay 100s of eggs & you have to destroy them or you would be overwhelmed. I now have 3 more as I obviously missed them in the soil & they hatched. I couldn't kill them then! All 6 now live in a giant seed box...the ones with the clear plastic lids...propagators. I love watching them chew their way through lettuce. I don't think you are allowed to keep giant snails in most of America. Look after your little yard snails! They are very cute!
