Yes, my flowers have been blooming and London chased her first butterfly the other day. It's been so mild here....although it got quite cold over the weekend. I even covered some plants because they were predicting a frost for Friday night. It still seems funny to me when the top story on every station is, "Get ready everyone....we are preparing for FROST!!!!" LOL....even the teachers at school told the kids to be sure to dress warm on Friday. Turns out, it wasn't as bad as they had thought, although it did get into the low 40's and, I hate to admit it, I was COLD! Apparently my blood has thinned, much to my chagrin, and I am now an official "southerner". Betsy has been walking around with her sweatshirt on, talking through chattering teeth, and John has turned the heat up at least 5 times this weekend. We even had a fire in the fireplace on Saturday night....it was so warm and cozy!
We didn't do much over the weekend. Betsy and wee one went with my aunt on Saturday to take Jody to the airport, so JB and I decided to go out and shop for a while. I wanted to get a new bedspread, since I ruined mine in the dryer....don't ask....but I wanted the same kind. I didn't know if the store would have the same brand or style....but they did! I have a queen sized bed, but always buy king sized comforters....so I knew it would be expensive. $179....and then I saw the sign that said "any size $69" woohoo!!!! I grabbed that sucker, along with two matching decorative pillows ($30 marked down to $10), and ran for the register. Of course, I did make a small stop at the 75% off Christmas department....so for $136 I got the comforter, pillows, and a cart full of really nice Christmas decorations. I told John, "See? I saved you money!" He just smiled politely and rolled his eyes....of course when I mentioned that with the money I saved, we could go to Red Lobster for lunch....he thought I was brilliant. As it should be....lol.
We had a nice lunch together....and I must say that in all of the seafood places I have eaten here....and there have been quite a few....Red Lobster has the best freaking clam chowder EVER. It is so good. I know it's a chain restaurant, but I prefer theirs to any other. After lunch we went home and relaxed for a while, then decided to take London on her first real walk on a leash. She did so good! We walked about a mile and a half and she just loved it. However, like a child you try to tire out and they refuse to sleep, she remained in "hyper puppy mode" until bed time.
Today we went to church, then came home and had homemade soup....minestrone. My mom made it and it was really, REALLY good. Hit the spot on a chilly day. Wee one went to a friend's house, and JB washed my car. We took London on another walk, and then collapsed in front of the tv. I forgot about DH, but caught the last 20 minutes of it. I thought the kiss between Carlos and Lynette was hysterical. Excellent plot twisting potential there! Who was the guy in the trunk???? And are Mike and Susan back together? Someone let me in on the first half of the show!
Okay, I'm tired and have to get up early in the morning....I'm off to bed....nighty night!

no they are not back together....and the guy in the trunk is the guy that was looking for Caleb to kill him....and the kiss was a payback for Gabrielle kissing lynettes hubby....lol....

Sure has been cold. We turned the heat on too today... and I'm so happy we both get to drive clean cars. My hubby washed and vacuumed and even shined up the van so at least it will be clean, well for maybe about a week... oh I haven't had clam chowder in ages and sure do have a craving for it. This is good weather for soups. I have to use up our ham and make a ham and bean soup or something though first. Don't you love it when you find a sale on something that is a must have?! Hugs,
Lisa
WEll it seems as if susan and mike are softening back up Susan helped set mike up for bowling as afamily with her daugher after the boy apologized to her and susan got Mike some time with his son thogh the boy doesnt know it yet. so Mike is softening to her. but shes not really with him yet. the guy is searching for caleb and actually was being mean to him after he tried to get him out of the basement and didnot sound very nice to me. the man fell thruw the steps and his gun went off and he shot himself. They put him in the trunk and she shut the trunk not realizing her son had just dropped the keys in there so they could not move the car. it just had to sit there. Gabby and lynette got into it over the kiss gabby jokingly planted on lyns hubby. then lyn wentover to have itout with her and gabby had been telling carlos to have an affair to let her off the hook. she did not care. then when lyn came over gabby sitll could not accept her one percent fault in the matter so lyn kept kissing him to show her how it would bother someone. So thats why carlos wasasking about having an fling.
we had near seventies today but forty mph winds. its weird. HECK IM cold in sixties and its not becuase IM in the south lol its just age getting old lol I wish we coudl get back into walking again myself. I do hope we are on the warm up end. WOW hwere did you find saleslike that???? I love your pics as always
Sounds like you had a great weekend! Great deal on the bedspread! I've never tried Red Lobster's clam chowder, but I shall. I usually don't like it at a restaurant like that, but I'm willing to give it a try. Have a great week!

Brrrrr, in the 40's huh? You poor things, you must have your earmuffs on! LOL! I bet Red Lobster uses Cambells Clam Chowder, you should buy some and see if it tastes the same (but use milk naturally, not water to mix). My dogs still have no clue how to walk on a leash and walk ME instead, especially Buffy, she chokes herself every single time I try. I have a King Sized bed and buy the California King comforters because the regular Kings just don't do the job. They are wicked EXPENSIVE!!
Hugs and love,
Lisa
Hey Queen of Organization.................
Good Job on the weekend.........
London is just getting cuter and cuter by the minute.
Its been in the 40's here in Illinios too, which is practically unheard of for
January...........
I wonder if this global warming thing has finally hit full blast ??
40's is chilly for Florida....I am in Northwest Florida near Pensacola/Destin..and we had a hard freeze the other night....... I miss the cold winters of Virgina...BUT I don't think I could handle that kind of cold anymore!!!
Actually had some Red Lobster Clam chowder this weekend and it is good!
I like the stuffed mushrooms at redlobster...none compare anywhere else.
I'm so glad that I can't remember the names and who's who on desperate housewives unless I'm watching it...otherwise this kiss thing would have been ruined for me since I didn't see it yet. I can't believe how big and cute london is. She's just gignatic. cynthia is beautiful. LOL about you being cold. You southerners are too much. LOL
Wow-40 degrees? Were you wearing mittens and a scarf...lol! :) You have become a Floridian!!
