Mmmmm, how about some pancakes with your syrup? That is what my dh John usually says whilst watching me drown my flapjacks in rivers of Mrs. Butterworth's. I can't help it....I'm a fan of the breakfast cake. I had a craving for them yesterday, however decided to wait until today to make them. I put mini chocolate chips in them and they were gooooood. I just finished them....and of course London finished hers. I made one from that last scoop of batter that is never enough for a full pancake, and has no chocolate chips in them. And guess what? She loved it....lol. Of course she did....she's just like her mommy. (no syrup for her though)
Anyhoo....Betsy is back to school today, although she did not want to go. She is still feeling queezy, but she has physics now and can't miss the class. She sent me a text saying that her stomach hurt....which I'm sure I was supposed to reply with an "Oh honey, mommy will be right there to pick you up!", lol. However, I didn't reply....and I haven't heard from her since.
Wee one went to school a bit peeved with me as well. Her safety patrol group is going to Washington D.C. at the end of the year, and I said she couldn't go. The trip is not school sponsored, and there is no teacher involvement. The parents are given the information, and if a committee is set up, kids want to go, etc., then the trip will be scheduled. Every year a few parents do set things up and the kids go....but I just don't feel like she needs to be doing this in 5th grade. They ride busses for 8 hours, then immediately get off them and begin sight seeing, without stopping at the hotel to rest. Most of the kids are sent without their parents....which I think is crazy at this age! And if you are a parent that goes, that means you are responsible for your child, and whomever is placed in your group. Now, I have no problem with this if it's a trip to the museum or zoo....but D.C.? No thanks. I tried to explain this to her rationally, but she was not having any of it. And her biggest complaint was that they are going to Busch Gardens and she won't get to go. I told her we will take her to the one here in Florida and she says, "Yeah, well we lived here 3 years before you took us to Disney!" LOLOL....okay, she got me on that one. I did okay the two trips that are school sponsored and planned for the end of the year, so she was happy with that.
I gave London a bath yesterday and she is so fluffy and clean! I just love it when she is freshly washed and smells like baby powder. It's so easy to give her a bath, it amazes me. Percy loved baths when he was well, but when he started getting sick it was so hard to get him into the tub and manuvering him around, poor guy. London doesn't particularly like baths....she tries to escape when I'm putting the shampoo on her....but I always manage to catch her and keep her in place. I have also learned not to get dressed for the day before bath time! You would think I would have known that already....
Well, my sweet yet talkative girlfriend is on the phone so I must go....I hope everyone has a great day!

I gave both my pups baths yesterday as well. Even though they are small, man bathtime is hard. I do it in the sink in the laundry room and the counter and the floor was covered with water when I was done. I also don't get in my clothes for the day before I bathe them.
OH I Love syrupy pancakes lol Yeah I dont do field trips unless I was there. Maybe betsy just wnated you to say take some pepto lol or something. I guess if she was really bad she would have said MOM COME GETME!!!!!!!!!! But it is hard towork with a sick tummy and not at your best. But she is learning that sometimes many times daddy probably goes on and does the job when he is not at his best too!!!!!!!!!! Yes I need to bath my dogs but right now Im so afraid of sickness or makining them sick I dont want to take any chances. PLEASE pray pepper is still keeping the cough and IM not getting any sleep. its like that cough you have after a cold you just keep it for a while.
Hi! How's it goin'? Reading about chocolate chips in pancakes sounds so good I think I know have a craving. Now you've got me thinking... I do have some blueberries around here in the pantry somewhere... maybe blueberry pancakes for dinner would be just the ticket for a meal tonight or later this week. My kids love pancakes and they are so quick n easy for dinner. Hope Betsy feels better and give that puppy a hug from me. Hugs,
Lisa
yum!!!!!!! those sound really good. If only I had someone else to make them lol.
I have to agree with you on the DC trip, poor wee one. I gave Roxi and Muffin a bath on Saturday and it was pure horror lol. First I couldnt get Roxi into the tub, then I couldnt get her out.. then me with the bright idea of ok lets go brush them off outside they take off rolling around in the dirt and dry dead grass.. oh well.. maybe next weekend lol.
Oh I hear ya there. There lots of good syrups out there.
But I only want Mrs Butterworths on my pancakes and waffles, etc.
And not the "Lite" stuff.............
Give me the high colesterol sugary stuff. YUMMY....
yummy .... pancakes, waffles and french toast .... I'm so hungry for some breakfast now! :)
Sorry I have not been around your journal at all in december .... but now I'm back into the spring of things .... I'll try my best to keep up with journals now! :) Promise not to get too mad if I do get behind again?

Mrs. Butterworth is the only syrup we use!! None of the generic stuff. You can tell the difference!! Hope you have a good one!
Missie :)
I agree about the trip. I'd have said no, too.

LOL! I am giggling because I plan my wardrobe around the day that I am washing the dogs. Drawstring pants, check. Sweatshirt where you can pull the sleeves up, check. Pull hair back from face, check. Then when it's all said and done, clean the entire tub with Soft N' Scrub with Bleach and then take a shower myself so I don't smell like wet dog for the rest of the day! Have you learned the trick of keeping your hand on London's back so they don't shake in the bathtub? I learned the hard way on that one! LOL! Giles even waits to be blown dry after his bath, not Buffy though, she is scared to death of the blow dryer.
I won't allow Bethany, who is 14, to go on ANY trips that are more than a 2 hour bus ride, so tell Wee One that one. They are going next year to Canada as they do each year in Florida on a "ski trip", Bethany is already bugging me about this even though she doesn't ski. She can bug me and whine until she is blue in the face, but there is no way in hell she is going to Canada with other kids her age and staying in a hotel! I was once that age too ya' know, I know what they are thinking about! LOL!
We have pancakes or waffles for dinner at least once per week. Love them!!!!
Hugs and love,
Lisa
My 17 year old took a trip like this to boston recently. She was sick the whole time with the flu and nobody cared, there was nothing she could do. she was forced to go on all the tours sick and all. I totally agree with you about not allowing the trip.
I hesitate sending my kids on field trips when their teachers are supervising so I completely understand.
My weakness is French toast with lots of syrup :)
I hope that Betsy is feeling better!

I love chocolate chip pancakes-but we add banana to them and call them Monkeycakes!
I agree with you in regards to the trip! That is too fat ro go for a 5th grader!
The Busch Gardens in Tampa is great! There is also a water park right there (I worked there in high school) so you might be able to get a 2-for-1!
