I forgot to put in a subject....

THU    FRI   SAT

66°F   75°F  78°F
What is happening to me? It's cold outside....yet my thermometer reads 48 degrees. That was a heatwave in Indiana this time of year! I wouldn't walk outside with the dogthis morning because I was cold....and of course she wouldn't go out without me....so I ended up taking her out, then getting into a hot shower for 15 minutes. I'm losing it folks....I might as well admit that my blood has thinned, I'm getting used to the heat, and according to the forecast, Saturday will be a great day to go to the beach to soak up some sun. Sigh....I feel so defeated. My northern ancestors are shaking their heads in shame....

In other news....I finished my ironing last night. I spent two hours on it but I was working on it in front of the tv so I wasn't bored. I watched All My Children, which I had missed during the day whilst at the pizza party. Which, by the way, went well. The kids were happy with their pizza and chicken wings and my cupcakes were a hit. The other mom and I walked in just as they were grading a test....on which wee one scored 100%! It was a 13 colonies test where they were given a map of the east coast and they were to fill in the blanks with the correct states. We had made up a....oh man, what do you call that when you use the first letter of each word to help you remember something????....anyway, we did that and she remembered it perfectly.  She looked over at meand wrote an "A+" in the air, to let me know....lol.

Not much else going on here. I am out of my "annoyed funk" today. Well, as of 10:45 am I'm still out of it....we will just have to see how the rest of the day goes. I noticed that a lot of people here in j-land seem to be in the same state of mind. Must be the time of year.

I have to go re-windex all of my mirrored and glass surfaces. I don't know what happened, but last night I started noticing streaks on everything I cleaned yesterday. I hate when that happens. Perhaps some Pledge got on my paper towels and caused the problem. In any case, I could see the streaks on my sliding glass door, bathroom mirror and computer monitor. Oh, and the tv in my room. I'm almost out of paper towel too. Betsy told me that there is one brand that I buy that tends to streak....of course I dont' remember if it is Bounty or Brawny. I can't imagine my studly Brawny guy would streak on me....hmmmm, that came out wrong....but what a mental picture! LOL....

Bounty streaks on me.....and Brawny has little particles that come off as I'm wiping.  ::Amy cries::  They WILL invent a perfect paper towel some day!!!  Maybe.  I buy Brawny anyway because I like the pick-a-size thing.  LOL  I wonder if there's a difference between regular Windex and the one with vinegar......

Did you guys get the 40s they were predicting?!  I walked outside and thought 'Hmm...it's warmer in Alaska than it is here....'  LOL

yeah i live in indiana and 48 degress would sooo excite me. they say we are to be in the low 40's today and that really got me excited too. those temps that you are showing that start with the sixties and end in the high seventies would probably make me have to celebrate big time. haha. we have had though a very mild winter which is abnormal so i shouldnt complain too much. though when it does take a dip into winter like it did yesterday i feel like 100 percent worse probably than if it just stayed cold. our bodies i dont think have had enough time to adjust to the cold yet. though i dont know if there is any hope for me cause my body has never ever handled the cold and ive lived here all my life. just looking at your future temps though make me feel all warm inside. haha. debbie

there is a bounty that causes major streaks I can't remember which one though. Please I beg you to never ever ever question Mr Brawny again. I love him! But sad to say I'm down to less than a half a roll with an entire house to clean. I don't know how I'm gonna make him last.  But he's good to me so I'll just use up one little piece of him at a time.

That sucks that you are getting used to the Florida weather...it's like you're transforming or something. Don't you miss pretty coats? Sweatshirts and turtle necks? Long underware? Did you know that legwarmers are totally back in fashion up here? And boots with the jeans tucked in or rolled up at the top? I'd rather be cold then hot. You can always make yourself warmer.

WTG WEEONE! I'd have failed that test so badly. My geography sucks...nevermind historical geography!

Thats really funny about your daughter because today in my GED school were learning about the 13 colonies, where they were on the map etc and were having a test Tuesday lol... maybe I could borrow her to study lol. Congrats on the A.

But anyways have a good weekend, get outta the house seems it will be nice for you this weekend, weather wise. I had to leave comment when I read about your daughter and the test at school. Have a good one take care, keep in touch

I always read your journal, but only comment occasionally. I had to comment on this one though... I love to read about how much pride you put into taking care of your home and family. When my sons grow up and get married, I hope they find a woman with values like that.

I have a tip on the streaking paper towels. I never use paper towels to clean windows or mirrors. I always use coffee filters. They never streak or leave lint. Maybe you could try that. I found it by accident when I ran out of paper towels one day. :o)

Congrats to Wee One on getting an A+!!
My oldest son just got done learning about the 13 colonies as well.
I Love the ABC Soaps and I watch them when I can.. I usually catch them on Soapnet most of the time.  Thank God for Soapnet.
I use the Pledge wipes when I dust.. so much faster and easier.  Yeah, I know.. its the lazy way.  I tried the Windex wipes but they left streaks.  I never have any luck with windex and papertowels... I always get streaks.  I use my old wash cloths as cleaning rags and I never get streaks when I use a cleaning rag  with Windex.
Hugs,
Angel

Hee-hee on the streaking Brawny guy!  That would be fun to see!  Poor baby, you were cold at 48 degrees?  Yep, you have lost your ability to withstand the cold.  If you came to New England you would be in a parka, scarf, hat and gloves at 60 degrees.  LOL!
Hugs and love,
Lisa

Kudos to Wee One on her test score! (I think that word might be "acronym") and I just wanted to mention that you've got me all hungry for pizza, chicken wings and cupcakes...but it's only 8:15 AM, so I have to suffer a while...

When I worked a job detailing cars, Windex and ordinary newspaper were the combination for streakless windows. Worked wonders.

Have a good day!

My blood has thinned out too....*sigh*  My mom makes fun of me and I don't think that I could go through a KS winter! lol

Congrats to wee one on her A+ on the test!

When I clean my windows here I use newspaper instead of paper towels. It doesn't streak.

Oh my!  Now I'm picturing your studly Brawny guy streaking on you, and you chasing him around the house with a bottle of Windex!!!

I wish my blood would thin.  I am so hot all the time!  When everyone in the office is huddling in sweaters and coats I'm in short sleeves with my little desk fan on!

Now why can't my cleaners be as concerned with the streaks as you are here in this entry?  Yes, I'm in a funk too-- but some new shampoo and conditioner has brightened my weekend-- and perhaps I will find a new job soon or settle into the one I have and accept the crazy weather of Florida.  Hugs,
Lisa
