Wednesday....

Mmmmm, candy corn....I bought some a few weeks ago, and it is still sitting in my glass pumpkin. I buy it because it brings to mind memories of past Halloween's, not so much for eating it. I usually have a handful and that keeps me until next year. I love looking at it though....

I really don't have much to say today. So far I have cleaned, shaved the gams and now I'm going to vacuum. I have dinner thawed and ready to go, and I'm caught up on my laundry. Well....on the washing/drying/folding....not the ironing. I hate ironing! The board is set up....so I guess I should do it. I could watch my soap opera whilst working.

Okay, I have a confession to make....I am freaking out in my own home. I keep hearing noises and it makes my heart race! I never thought about it before, because I knew the noise was most likely coming from Percy. But now....yesterday I was sitting here and I heard something in the bedroom. I crept in there and was poking my head around the door like an idiot. Then, I went into the bathroom and pushed the shower curtain back, really fast, like something or someone was in there....lol. I'm such a dork. But it is kind of unsettling being here without Percy to protect me. Of course, he probably would have just licked the intruder....but still. It would have given me a chance to run!

Okay, I am going to vacuum and then do the dreaded ironing. Yuck. Oh yeah, I read somwhere a fun little thing to do when you are bored. Go to Google and type in (with the quotations marks) "Your name is" (i.e. "Sherry is") and then see what it comes up with. I'll give you a few of the good ones I got....

"Sherry is a miraculous accompaniment to
food." (You just know I am!)

"Sherry is produced only in the southernmost part of Spain, near the town of Jerez"....(this is not true, I asked my mother and she said she had never been to Spain.)

And my very favorite....

"Sherry is consumed almost exclusively by vicars, grannies, the aristocracy and alcoholics."

(*I remembered who I got this game from....Jimmy over at StupidSheetGuy....I felt guilty not giving him props....so here they are! ;o)

You know, the same thing happened to me when my Shepherd died years ago...I was so used to having him around the house and never feared anything, because you know how a dog alerts you to things...well, after he died, I found myself scared a lot in the house when I would hear things...or just the fact of knowing that I had no one to alert me to things.  Now, with my english mastiffs...I never have a fear of anything...I can nap in the afternoon in peace knowing my angels are watching over me, and will alert me to anything going on...even answering the door, people see the sheer size of my dogs and do not stay too long at my screen...they have no desire to come in either. Dogs are our protectors and angels...

I like to buy those candy corns too and just have a handful from year to year- oh too funny about the shower thing- sounds like something I would do!!  Went thru the same stuff when we gave our Seanesty to a family friend.  That dog was my body guard and sent from heaven.  Kind of a package deal with my husband when we got married.  That dog really knew when I was pregnant with Aaron and then again with Courtney.  Slept by my bed all the time and did nightly walks to make sure everyone was tucked in.  He knew that I was mommy and if I was upset the whole house was too.  Stayed by me like glue if anything was wrong.  I should ask to have the dog back but he seems happy with who he went to.  And I think it would be cruel to uproot him again.   I didn't really love Sean as much as he loved me though.  He had all this hair I had to clean up and so I felt like his slave and was frustrated with him all the time.  Way worse than the cat we have now.  It was just awful.  All I did was clean up dog hair.  He was a golden retriever to give you some idea of how much hair I was dealing with.  It was just everywhere.  But oh we still do miss Seanesty.  Hugs,
Lisa

Hee-hee!  Very funny about the "Sherry is . . .".   I will have to give that a try but with the name Lisa, I will have too much to wade through.  Maybe Percy is back visiting you and that's why you hear noises.  I get freaky like that after I watch a scary movie, which is the reason I don't watch them anymore.  Did you ever clean up after a shower when you don't close the shower curtain?  Yep, guilty, did that before.  LOL!
Hugs and love,
Lisa

LOL that's very cute. I used to walk around my house as though someone was hiding in it waiting to get me. Now I hope they are there so i can take out my frustrations while killing them. Hey, they wanna break in they are gonna have to pay the piper. I don't like candy corn...or looking at it. Or picking it up off the floor cuz of the kids being slobs. But it's cute that you like it. Have fun ironing. NOT!

Sherry...definitely sounds like Percy is visiting.  When our first Golden went to RB, we kept finding her favorite toys out in the middle of the room.  They wouldn't be there when we went to bed, but by morning, there they were.  Used to freak me out too....but then it became sort of a comfort to know she was still around to protect us.

Well, at least you didn't shave the carpet and vacuum the gams! Oh and I heard noises too after Baby died. I also heard her for days, breathing or walking across the kitchen...she died in April and I still wonder why she doesn't bark when someone drives up. It will take time.
