Cool and crisp....yeah baby!

What a wonderful week this has been weather-wise. It's been COLD every night and cool during the day. It got down into the low 40's last night....I had our bedroom windows wide open and snuggled down under the covers. You get the best sleep that way! Of course, with the loss of humidity comes the dry, itchy skin. Wee one and I both have it and let me tell ya, we've been itchin' and scratchin' like crazy! I went out yesterday and stocked up on Aveeno lotion and shower gel. Mmmmmmm....smooth....

JB was outside washing the car when our next door neighbor came home from a three day trip to Dallas. He said that he had noticed a trickle of water coming from her garage while he was washing the car, and wondered what it was. Well, it turned out that her toiled had overflowed on day one of her trip and the entire house was flooded with four inches of water! Can you imagine? She has a company there right now, soaking it all up. I have offered my house to her and her daughter if they need it....I feel so bad for them. What a thing to come home to!

It's so quiet in the house right now. JB is studying, Betsy is showering and wee one is at a "Fall Festival" at church. They got to dress up and she went as a hippie. She looked cute but was a bit upset that she didn't have the proper shirt to go under the vest. She ended up wearing a sweatshirt which, although a bit bulky, works for the chilly temps. She got her report card today and I am so proud of her. Four B's one A and only one C. That kid worked so hard, and brought up her grades . She was relieved. The teacher is having a pizza party on Friday for the kids that made the A/B honor roll. I'm helping along with the room mother....and both of our kids won't be there due to their one C! LOL....wee one said only five kids made the A/B honor roll....and I bought 30 plates! LOL....

Yesterday, wee one said that she was talking with a boy she has been friends with since second grade. Apparently, the kids are already trying to decide who they will be asking to the "fifth grade dance" in the spring. This boy told her that he is going to be in trouble because girls keep asking him, and he says yest to them all. Then he says to her, "I don't know why they keep asking me," and she replies, "Well, you are an attractive guy." LMAO....gotta love the innocence!

And, of course, I must give a shout out to the Chicago White Sox....let's go all the way boys! (This from a die-hard Cubs fan no less!) WooHoo!

Always with the kind heart, you! I hope you'd be extended the same courtesy. Poor Wee One, coming up short by one C. I say Pizza on the Stupid!  She'll have her day.

Enjoy the cold, and keep the Aveeno on hand

Congrats to Wee One for working so hard and getting the good grades!!  The weather here in Bama has been great too!  Highs in the 60s and lows in the 30s.  It's nice being almost 9 months pregnant and having great cool weather.  Anyway, I hope you have a great night!!*~*Emily

I'm with ya on the White Sox!

LOL about the boy telling all the girls yes. It don't matter anyway because at that age they are too shy to hang with eachother anyway and girls stay with girls and boys stay with boys. Too cute!

Oh that toilet mishap sucks. I feel bad for her too.

Don't go catching a cold with that window open. It's 39 here tonight and I'm freezing my bum off. Sitting here with a blanket wrapped around me

Good for wee-one on her report card, that's great!
I love the cooler weather too.  It just seems that I want to stay snuggled in bed longer in the mornings! hahaha
Your poor neighbor, that stinks.  To go away and have to come back to that?  You are so nice to offer her help.
My girls are going to a fall festival at their church too, but they want them to dress as Bible characters... so Alana is going to be Mary and Mikey just wants to be Snow White... whatever. LOL ~Melissa

YIKES on the water in the house when you come home from a trip!!  Worst nightmare!  CONGRATS to Wee One on making the honor roll!!!!  Hopefully this will help ease her anxiety for a little bit.  Dances already?!?!?!  OMG!  I haven't let Bethany go to ANY in Middle School.  I am such a mean Momma.  ;)
Hugs and love,
Lisa who is shivering over this way this morning, it's in the 30's.

OMG, I can soooo relate to your poor neighbor! My husband and I came home from work one day to find several inches of water in our house due to a broken washing machine hose -- it was a nightmare and a mess, and even though the water only sat in there several hours (not days!), the drywall had to be ripped out along the bottom of the walls, the flooring was ruined and all our wood furniture was taken away. Luckily, the homeowner's policy covered most of it, but the mess and inconvenience to say the least!!

Nice of you to offer your home to them...

Congratulations to Wee One on the good grades!
Last year, my son made all A's and one B, but he didn't make the honor roll because he had a C in conduct!! Can you believe he made a c in conduct?? I was so mad at him over that one.

It is kind of you to offer your home to your neighbors. That is awful that she had to come home to something like that!

I love all the graphics you put in your entries. Where do you find them?

congratulations to Hayley for her good grades. It is a bit mean not to let the kids who got 1 c not to be able to join in the party. You and the other mum could maybe have a private celebration. Well done again..........Jules xxxxx
