Well, today I was supposed to take Betsy shopping (the graphic represents HER....obviously....lol), however she came into my room around 6:30 and told me she had "tossed her cookies". So now, I'm letting her sleep and will check on her in an hour. I did my big cleaning yesterday (yes, I gave in), so that I could spend the day out with her....I hate it when my kids get sick. You just feel so helpless!
Of course, I do have wee-one's classroom orientation this afternoon, so I have at least one "for sure" on my schedule. She is really excited about it. Last night when she came in from swimming at the springs, the first thing she said was something about orientation. Imagine that. Later on she told me that she swam with fish, got to touch some....yet the first thing she talks about when she gets home is school. Oh, to be young again! Trust me, next week the excitement will be gone and NOTHING will be said about school. Well, nothing except, " I'm tired, it's too early to get up, I don't want to do my homework, I wish it were summer again...."
We are draining our pool. AGAIN. Second time this season. It is as green as pea soup after going on vacation for a freaking week. It was blue and clear when we left....had 7 days of rain....and now I can't get it to correct itself. I've had it! JB has had it too....he wants me to go buy a new cover and shut it down for the season. However, we have a few months left and I think we should keep it open. So....we will drain, refill, and start on chlorine this time. We were using the Baquacil which is a different kind of sanitizing system....gentler to the user....and obviously not strong enough to cut it with the Florida heat, humidity and rain. So, it's out with the environmentally friendly and in with the kick a** chemicals....
Last night I spent an hour arranging my pictures into folders. I've never done that kind of stuff before, but decided I should. The other day I watched a dvd on my computer, and when it was over I was brought to a screen thatlet me look at my pictures as a montage. Now, I'm sure there are those out there saying, "Well duh....didn't you know you could do that?" To which I must reply, "Well nooooo, I'm not computer friendly!" Anyhoo....Betsy and I had a great time watching them. I put on classical music and we made up lyrics as the pics went by, made jokes and laughed our butts of for about two hours. I realized I had a lot of "junk" pics, so I cleaned house and now I have my neatly arranged and sorted by subject folders. It's so cool! Now, I just have to figure out how I found that montage thingy....

I know what you mean about the kids and school and summer ending... this week yay and next week "I don't want to get up!!" Mine are all back to school now and it's so hard for all of us to get up early and I'm trying to pack lunches and make breakfast too ( : ( ) and drive them to the bus. Sigh. Crazy world we live in... if only school started at about 11... and hope the new chemicals work for your pool! My MIL has a pool and it drives her nuts too. My neighbor has a big hole in his yard right next to us. Hubby is so mad as it is 2 feet from our line. Oh well- I told the kids to please not fall in that big hole or go anywhere near it. Maybe they will screen it or put a fence up. Hugs,
Lisa
How long can you use your pool still in Florida.
When do you usually close it up for the summer ??
I know just what you mean about the pea green pool....it took us the entire month of July to get ours nice and blue...and now we are headed for a weeks vacation and it will probably be green again when we return! Hope Betsy is OK...must be something in the air....DD16 came in our room at 3:30 this morning covered in hives. Don't know what that was all about either, but I gave her some benadryl and now she is sleeping soundly. If she reacts to Benadryl the way I do, she may be sleeping for hours!

hope Betsy feels better soon and you manage to get your shopping trip. Hope you get the pool sorted and can keep it open a bit longer. When does the summer finish in Florida?...........Jules xxxxxx

Poor Betsy, I hope she feels better soon. It's great spending time laughing with the kids though ain't it? Instead of always being the meany. I'm the meany a lot lately and when there's a moment of laughter I cherish it too. As for pictures...I have like 5000 pictures on the computer I gave my son and I have to save them all and sort them out and get rid of the dumb ones and have some developed and I just don't have th energy. Have fun at the school today and Im in the middle of lysoling my counters and doorknobs. It's doing the ten minute disinfect and then I gotta clean it. Funness!
aw I hate when kids get sick and it ruins fun days out. Hope she better. Now about hte folders I need to save mine in stead I put them in aol journals then if i crash can save again to pc LOL Yeah I had to use cholorine here in ky too much rain and hot and humidity and fungus. Man a wave pool. how cool I love it when I get to go. we have not had rain for a good three weeks. its dry here could you send some up.???????? Love you girl hope you have some rest this weekend. and glad yoru back. Love wee one too who is off on subjects by the way we went wlaking this weekend and guess what ?????????? I saw a sign that said no outlet. I told hubby hey they got no electric here lOL I thought about what she said and it was so funny to us.
Good for you cleaning out your files and putting them in the right folders! I did that awhile ago and have to do it yet again. Sigh. Takes a very long time to do! Sorry that Betsy isn't feeling well. I hope by the time you get this comment she is doing better!!!
Hugs and love, Lisa
