As you can see, wee one's tree house is coming along....she and her father spent the day "raising the roof". It really looks great. It is turning out so nicely, in fact, that Betsy is thinking of having him build another one for her to move into. You know, a nice little place of her own....lol.
It's been a quiet day today. I took Betsy and her friends to their orientation this morning at 8, then came home and did a few things before I had to pick them up again. Wee one had spent the night at my mom's, and came home later in the day. I spent the rest of the day sewing and making a nice dinner for the gang. It has been a while since the four of us have sat down to eat together. Between Betsy's job, vacation, swimming and what have you....
Right now JB is in front of the tv, Betsy is in her room and wee one is at yoga with my aunt. They have also planned one last trip to the springs before school starts. I can't belive how quickly the summer has gone. It seems like only yesterday they were finishing up the school year.
Wee one got the coveted postcard today....announcing what teacher she was assigned. Right around August 1st of every year, the phone calls start....wondering who got what teacher. She is happy with her teacher, although it was not the one she wanted. She wanted a specific team of teachers. So far three of her friends are in her class, all of whom are safety patrol as well.
When we got home from vacation, we tore through the mail, looking for the card. Saturday we ran outside, fighting over who would open the mail box. Yesterday I just happened to get the mail as she was riding her scooter home from a friend's house. Being the evil mom that I am, I held a flier high above my head, waving it and jumping up and down like an idiot. She comes careening toward me and jumps off the scooter. "Guess what?!" I yelled. Face full of anticipation she smiles and says, "What?" to which I reply, "It didn't come today, but here's a flier for you!" LOL....I love being a mom.
To make up for my meanness, I lether get the mail today. She ran up the driveway as I was emptying my bucket and said, "WooHoo! It came!" I asked her who she got and she said, "Oh, I don't know. I got my Toon Town registration!"
I guess it runs in the family....however, the card was in there, buried under a few bills and some snail mail spam. After all that anticipation and excitement, she reads it and says, very flatly, "Oh, I really didn't want that teacher." And goes on to look at the various stickers in the Toon Town envelope. Like everything else in life, the anticipation tends to be more exciting than the actual event.
I'm in such a crafty mood. I need to find something to make. I have a hundred ideas from a craft shop we went to in NC, but I don't know where to start. I'm terrible that way. I have so many ideas that I rush through them and although it looks good, it's not great. I need to slow down and concentrate on one thing. I wish I knew how to make one thing really well. I want to be passionate about something and put my all into it. I guess the only way to find out is to start trying things. But where do I start????
Okay, I'm outta here for tonight. I have to catch up on last weeks Reno 911 before tonight's episode. Ooooh, and Stella is on after that. Have you seen that show? I have a little thing for Michael Ian Black. He is so incredibly funny in a smarmy, sarcastic kind of way....and that really turns me on!!!! LOL....I know, I know, TMI right?

Loved the pictures. That treehouse is one of the best tree houses I have ever seen- and it isnt even finished yet. Your husband sure knows how to build a treehouse.
Wee one is so lucky to have such a wonderful father.
I love Reno 911 and I also love Michael Ian Black. Jack Black is ok but Michael is my favorite.
Hugs

Can your hubby come here and build my kids a treehouse? We have woods right behind us and lots and lots of trees! I will even promise not to take his pic and post it like, umm, someone else did! :) That is some treehouse!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is it going to be hooked up to electric too? We were also able to get my son's class assignment yesterday. He was happy that he got a male teacher, but not happy that he is in a class with mostly girls! LOL!
Hugs and love, Lisa
You are a pissa teasing the kid like that. LOL I'm the same way with crafts I have all these ideas but only a few come to life. We still have another month of summer to go here. I want to learn yoga or something. That tree house looks amazing I showed ronnie just to be annoying.

Here is a site in case you want to look it over. It may be nothing but for those who like to craft, it might hold something.

Love the tree house! I actually printed out plans for grandad that I found on the computer in hopes it would inspire him to build a cabin for the grandkids. (did not work!) I am leaving for Maggie Valley NC this morning! Going to hit sliding rock on the way up and let the kids experience God's natural made fresh and clean water slide. (As opposed to the really gross unsanitary one we join every summer near us!--yuck!) I totally relate about the craft thing, I feel like there is an inner artist in me, she is just haveing trouble finding her way out!
