Monday morning and back to reality....I spent 45 minutes with wee one doing some homework that she "forgot" to do. I should have checked her book bag last night, but between making her lunch and washing the 100 dishes that Betsy didn't do (but she did manage to sleep all evening....thank God for that....*enter sarcasm here), I forgot. So, during her usual cartoon time, we did a spelling sheet through half of Garfield and Friends, questions 1-5 in science through the second half, and then writing the spelling words five times as well as definitions through Arthur. I made her some toaster strudel for breakfast, but forgot about it in the toaster until she came to the word "nourish" whilst writing her definitions. She had eaten them both by the time we got to the word "starve" (*to perish through lack of sufficient nourishment). I tell ya, 5th grade is going to wear me out!
And so, here I sit, ready to start another week. I've got cleaning to do as well as sewing....and I really want to try my new craft. Tomorrow I'm going with my mom to her new condo inspection. It will be the first time I see it from the inside. I'm looking forward to it. I promised her I would help her paint and wallpaper when she gets in. It really is pretty from the outside, so I'm sure it will be nice on the inside.
A few weeks ago I downloaded the "site meter" (little rainbow like box in my about me section). Have you seen this thing? I didn't want it for use as a counter....since AOL provides one....but for the most awesome feature I've ever seen. When you sign into your account, you can choose an option that lets you see, on a world map, where your last 100 visitors come from. I just love that! I've had visitors from Austrailia, Italy, South America and even the Middle East! I love learning about other cultures, and how people live....so, if you are reading this from another country....leave a message in the comments section, along with a link to your own journal or homepage....if you have one. Oh, and if you want a site meter of your own, just click on mine and it will take you to their site.
Before I go, I will leave you with this little reminder....
Only 122 shopping days left! LOL...
****Correction....thanks to an observent reader....there are 116 days left. I don't know what I was thinking....just excited I guess! HoHoHo!

IN THE RAIN!!!!!!!!! Now I need nap. In fact I dont know if I can take reading anymore journals after yours. IM LAZY!!!!!!!!!! I hate this I got things to do.
I want that site meter. what is the name of it or the link ???????
I had the site meter on my first journal. Yes, it was very cool. I was laughing about betsy sleeping and what you said. Fifth grade is hard. Harder for us moms. LOL. I wish it was back in the ole day when the kids went to school and the parents didn't have to help with shit. Now elementary involves the parents in every aspect and it makes our lives so much harder. More work for us. Like we didn't have enough already. And the teachers are getting paid but we aren't. Not fair not fair. What craft are you going to do? Did I miss something else?
Just gotta love mondays NOT LOL

Your morning started off hectic...good teachers (and there are some), don't feel the need to give so much homework. They're making work for you, but they're also making more work for themselves. Problem is teaching isn't left up to teachers anymore, they have too many state guidelines they must follow.
I can't wait to hear about your new craft...I'm on pins and needles :). Whatever it is I know you'll do it perfectly. What kind of sewing do you do? Is it for others?
I'm so happy that you had a great weekend. The museum looked so interesting.
Ow, that site meter sounds cool...but, my journal is so new...maybe I'll get it for the heck of it.
PS...yes, that's our cat, his name is Calvin, (but not as in Hobbs, or Klein)

Matthew had a ton of homework when he was in the 5th grade too.

OMG! Sherry, you are starting to countdown to Christmas earlier this year! AAAGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! I didn't know your Mom was moving into a condo! Where have I been?!?! I am sure it's beautiful because you are just like your Mom and she won't settle for less than perfect just like you. LOL! I am not looking forward to homework and it will be starting tonight! Fun, fun! NOT!
Hugs and love,
Lisa
You are one hard working SAHM..................
You are very organized. Do you get any help at all ?????
I noticed in your journal pic that you are smiling, which by the way you have a beautiful smile. But how do keep smiling with all that work to do ?????
My son was in the 5th grade last year. It was hard on all of us. Not just him! I had always heard that 5th grade was the hardest, and now I believe it.
I have site meter on my journal also. I love it. It's so interesting to see the stats.
I love the Christmas countdown you have going on. I just posted in my journal about what my boys are asking for this year. As they get older, the gifts get more expensive, don't they?
