Squeeky mouse and silent chair....

Isn't my mouse cute? I got him in St. Augustine....it's a special edition Charming Tails. I bought one for a friend for Christmas and thought they were so adorable. Now I MUST collect them! I've been on eBay and the one that I wanted that was $20 at the store was....$4 new in box. How's that for a deal?

My computer chair has been squeeking. Every time you sit down it sounds like Dracula emerging from behind a door. Today was the last straw when dh was on the phone with the insurance company and every time he switched positions he squeeked. "My drivers liscense number? Sure it's squeeeeeeeeek...." So, being the mechanical genius that he is, he turned the chair over and squirted the heck out of it with WD-40. Of course, it still squeeked because the source was under the back of the chair, which meant he would pry it off (along with about 100 mini nails) to squirt underneath. It worked....then he had to start hammering. After nail #15 bent, he whipped out the electric stapler. Now my chair doesn't squeek, but the back is studded with shiny silver staples. That's okay though, since I have a decorative throw over the back at all times. I guess the point of this long, drawn out paragraph is....my chair doesn't squeek anymore.

Wee one has a friend over for the evening. They are playing hide and go seek in the house right now. Wee one can't seem to find her friend....she just asked me if she was hiding under my desk. They have already run outside to check the progress of the tree house and asked if they could swim. It's been drizzling, so I told them not until tomorrow. Dh and I put the tent up for the girls, which made them very happy. They get their sleeping bags and pillows and camp out in front of the tv....that is after dh goes to bed. He told wee one that he was sleeping out there tonight. You should have seen the look on her face....too funny.

I spent the day cleaning out wee one's closet. I have four more bags for Goodwill. I can't believe how much crap that child has! After I had been cleaning for about an hour, she came in and said to me, "Mom, you aren't letting me see what you are throwing away!" and I said, "You are darn right....now get OUT!" LOL. She was able to see through the bags and saw that I am getting rid of her electronic battleship game. Well, if it hasn't been played with in 12 months, it can go!

Hmmmm, I had something else to say, but I got distracted with Betsy sitting here, reading as I type. I hate when people do that. Especially nosey teenagers!

Okay, I'm outta here....

My oldest does the same thing to me, she will make like she has to come in and ask me a question, and the next thing I know, she is STILL standing next to me and I just KNOW she is reading!  UGGGHHH!  No more squeeky chair!  HOORAY!  Just don't get a staple in your back now!  :)  That mouse is adorable!  Great deal on the $4 one!  Wee one can't go in the pool when it's raining out?!  How come?!?!  That was my FAVORITE time to go in the pool!  Of course, not when it was thundering or lightening out.  I wasn't THAT crazy!

Glad you had a good time in St. Augusting.  Beautiful town!  My sister has lived there for over 25 years now.  Love to visit her when I can and always go sightseeing.

The mouse on the boat is too cute!  I feel your pain about the 4 bags of stuff for Goodwill.  We are doing the same thing here.  Sigh.

I love the mouse and what a bargain. I got lots of my calico kittens and yare dragons off ebay, it can be addictive. I give up trying to throw things aways from my kids room or anything from Mick as they all get it back again! A habit Mick has taught my kids. I also hatehaving people stare over my shoulder as I write, espcially if its my journal, they can read it when I have finished, lol. Hope you and your family are enjoying the summer..........Jules xxxx

My family is the same way when I am filling up garbage bags with their useless crap. Most items I throw out and think are gone forever show up again a few days later and I have to keep throwing them out. OMG the chair. LOL I would have probably just thrown it out. You're very thrifty. Cute about the sleep over. I feel bad for my younger two kids because my oldest daughter had a sleep over every weekend from the time she was 8 till about 14 and now I hate kids sleeping over. She ruined it for them.
