Thoughtfully gazing into the bathroom mirror this morning as I was brushing her hair, wee one pondered the age old question, "Mom, do you really think that mermaids would wear bras made of sea shells while swimming?" Huh. You know, I've never really thought about that before. Personally, if I were a mermaid swimming free under the sea, I wouldn't bother wearing anything. And besides, I'll bet it's really hard to come across a supportive yet breathable size DD sea shell. (*I would like to thank the folks at The Disney Store, for providing the Ariel t-shirt that sparked this morning's "Wee one's Wonderings....")
We were up early today, as she is attending vacation bible school with the little girl down the street. They have to leave at 8:15 in the morning, and today we had a scheduling conflict. She has been cat sitting for my aunt and uncle and today was her last morning shift. I had her over there working at 7 am....slave driver that I am.
Betsy is not fairing so well in the "sick" department. She did really good yesterday and actually managed to eat last night with the family. She hadn't gotten sick since work. However, last night was apparently a bad night for her. She just called her boss to tell her she wouldn't be in and I sent her an e-mail saying the same. I checked on her a few minutes ago and she is dizzy, nauseous and warm to the touch. Poor kid. I gave her a few sips of water....here's hoping that stays where she put it.
I got about 1/2 of my sewing done yesterday whilst being angry at dh. He was being a crab ass about vacuuming the pool. This happens every year. The rain comes and screws up the delicate balance of shock and sanitizer....and we are left with a lovely greenish floor that needs vacuuming. It is usually Betsy's job but, *see above. I was inside preparing his Sunday dinner....which left wee one who can't reach over the sides well enough to vacuum. Being that it was 90 degrees and 487% humidity didn't help the situation. He complained, slammed doors, muttered....crap that drives me NUTS. So, in my anger I sat down at the sewing machine and sewed my butt off (I'll show him....make me mad and I'll just go contribute to the family finances! Hey, wait a minute....). Actually, once I hit my stride I go into a sewing "zen-like" state that is rather peaceful.
Today? Well, I will be periodically checking on Betsy and cleaning. Wee one won't be home till after lunch time which means it's kind of like having a few hours to myself....oh yeah....
Happy Monday!

teh questions that go thru kids minds. I wish I had awee one mine are so big I dont get those questoins I get harder ones I m now having toshow that I dont know everything about. POOR BETSY> I sure hope she feels better soon. I know she hates getting this job adn being sick right off the bat. YUP DH's can sure piss us off at times MAKES you wnat to slap them becuase then you see the kids mimic that attitude. You ask something they then hum and haw and pout too!!!!!!!! WHERE did they learn that. IM a big frustrated today myself and feeling overwhelmed. GRRRRRRR Just got so much on my plate. We dont have the pool thankfully anymore. But I tell you this year its finally getting hot!!!!!!! go figure.
WOW, I hope that Betsy is feeling better soon. Miserable to be sick like that, and also with her job, she probably is thinking a lot about that. . .which won't make her feel better! :( Did the pool get done? I love when I sew like that and I was doing the same thing last night. . . I love the result too, because I get really picky about how things turn out. So just tell him, "Bring it on Man! My machine is calling! Aaaaahhhhhh hahahahahaha!" Then you have the perfect opportunity to sew Or clean, whichever the case may be! Cya, Kris
besty feel better soon cute about the mermaid thing
It never ceases to amaze the things kids think to say.
I would think those seashell bras would chafe wouldn't they?! LOL! I love how people with pools have someone who lives in that house that HATES to clean a pool or to add chlorine, etc. We grew up with a pool once we moved out of the 'hood, and my mother constantly complained about cleaning it, etc. Me? I would be jumping for joy saying "HOORAY! I HAVE A POOL TO CLEAN IN MY YARD!!!!". I hope Betsy feels better soon. Man, I thought this bug would be out of her system within 24 hours, guess not. Ugghhh!
Hugs and love, Lisa
Now that's something to ponder!! LOL.
Hope Betsy feels better...nothing worse then having a stomach bug and then having to work around food.
Have a great day!!
*hugs*
How wonderful wee one is attending Vacation Bible School! Glad you got some sewing done over the weekend also. I accomplished more this weekend than in the last six months. Man, I must be low on vitamin B12. Hugs,
Lisa
When we were young marrieds and my dh made me mad, I would "wash clothes" or cook. (Been married 45 years this year) Back then we had to heat water to use in the washer. I used verrrry big pots and poured the water into the wringer type washer. I for one don't want the good ole days back. BTW we had a lot of CLEAN clothes back then! LOL
omg that daughter of yours says the cutest things all the time. She's a joy! Poor Betsy! Speaking of sewing? How's the inspection going?
hope Betsy feels better soon and hope the pool got vacuumed..............Jules x
