Beach bums....

As you can see, we had a great time at the beach yesterday. The sun was behind us and the breeze made it about 10 degrees cooler, which was so nice. The water was wonderful as well, just cool enough to be refreshing.

My mom enjoyed herself as well. Yes, I realize that there are no pictures of her in my entry. That is because I was threatened with my life if I put one in here. I don't want to get grounded, so I'm not going to disobey my mom!

Wee one had a great time playing in the sand and using her boogie board. She just can't get the hang of that thing....she slides off before the waves come and ends up getting sand burns on her legs from dragging behind. Betsy spent her time doing the usual....listening to her cd's. She does not like the beach, but will go if we ask nicely....lol.

Dh and I took a half mile walk together down the shore. It was so peaceful. Along the way we saw a couple who were fishing. When we headed back we saw that the man had caught a pretty good sized fish. And when we came right up on them we saw that he had caught....a baby hammerhead shark. Now, correct me if I am wrong but if he caught a baby....doesn't it stand to reason that mommy would be somewhere nearby???? Wee one had caught up with us at that point and saw the shark....and didn't go in the ocean past her ankles for the rest of the evening....lol. Smart girl!

This morning we got up early, picked up mom and spent the morning in St. Augustine. It was nice....and HOT. Very humid too. I ended up getting two of the little mice figurines that I collect and a "Caribbean Fruit" Yankee candle. It smells sooooo freaking good! Well, I should say that so far it smelled good in the jar, however now that it is lit, I can't smell it very well. Yankee just isn't what it used to be. I do have a Yankee peach candle that smells every time I burn it....and I bought a knock-off candle at Wal Mart that, unbelieveably, smells great when I burn it. Go figure. And it was only $4.

Well, I suppose I should go and....hmmmm, I don't know. The girls are watching a movie, dh is snoozing on the couch....looks like I can do pretty much whatever I darn well please....oh, who am I kidding. I need to vacuum.

Your photos are beautiful.  I miss the ocean, more than you can imagine.  Today the Hoosier state is hot and muggy, a blazing 91 degrees.  I'm glad you enjoyed the salty spray of the ocean... I'm going outided with Jonah to enjoy the spray of the water hose!

I LOVED the pictures!!  I love the ocean and would go every day if I lived close enough to it.  Looks like you all had a really nice time.  We are almost 6  hours away from Ocean City but we try to go every summer.
I cant stand the heat but to go to the ocean-- I would put up with it!!

Love the pictures!  A beautiful day at the beach!  Aren't candles great?!  They always make a home "a home" and --yikes about the sharks!  I always kinda worry about those darn sharks when we are at the beach.  Rob and Nicholas seem to have no fear which makes my worries worse.

Your digital camera is way better than mine!  Your pictures come out so nice & clear & mine are so blurry sometimes but I'm thankful to have one (it was given to us) but it is a bit outdated.  Technology-- now if they could just come up with that body shaping and sculpting pill that was free and worked overnight-  all of us women would be soooo happy!  I have to get working out more often... don't even want to be seen in my suit- sigh.  We are hoping to get up to St. Augustine sometime this summer and check out the historical district, maybe peek in some antique shops and get some ice cream.  I can't wait!  I've heard so many nice things about it.  I love historical towns and cities.
Hugs,
Lisa

I cant wait to go to the beach.I think the water is still too cold on the big lake yet.And as for the baby shark, that is really scary, kinda cool, but scary.Whenever I buy a good smelling candle,it doesnt smell nearly as good as it should. That pisses me off.GRrrr..... Have a great day,KIM

I want to go to the beach! Waaaaaaaaaa.  I love the pictures - took me back to when I was a preteen living just out of Daytona Bch. :-)  You were brave showing the picture of your shadow in a bathsuit! LOL, that was funny - you pulled a trick I would pull.
