The weekend....

It's been a lovely weekend here. The temps were warm yesterday, and cool today! Beautiful! Yesterday wee one and her aunt went on a bike ride at the "rails to trails" park. There used to be railroad tracks, but they were taken up and a bike trail was created. Wee one said it was beautiful, with wildflowers and farms along the way. They also had benches and such to sit and relax, or have lunch. John said he wants to go as a family for a nice, leisurely ride. I said that sounded nice, as long as we do it before the temps settle in the 80's!

Betsy and I went shopping whilst wee one was gone. We took a nice stroll around wally world, and picked up a few necessities. Of course, it turned into more than a few and I spent more than I meant to. But they had some great deals on cereal! LOL....really, it's the only place to buy cereal if you don't want to pay $4 a box!

Later on that evening we picked up mom and went out to dinner then to Barnes and Nobel. We all got books....and wee one and John got movies. I wanted to get a cappuccino, but didn't. Sometimes I think I want one, then just the smell of it is enought to satisfy me....it's so comforting for some reason!

So, while taking my mom home last night, we passed the church that wee one attends with her friend on Wednesday nights. It was then that I remember her saying something about singing on Sunday morning. I happen to ask her about it and she says, "Oh yeah. We HAVE to go because I have a special part!" Jeez....thanks for telling me! LOL....so when I got home I called my friend and sure enough, they had to sing at BOTH services! So, we went to a new church this morning, and enjoyed listening to the kids singing. It was so cute. I just love hearing kids sing like that. The service wasn't bad either....however, I will be staying with my church. I think my mom enjoyed it because it did kind of remind me of the type of services we attended as kids.

Anyhoo, right now dh is yelling for me to get the corn cooking so he can start the grill. We are having steakand potatoes and corn on the cob. Mmmmm. Sounds good. I should make a dessert though....but I'm not sure what to bake. I was going to bake cookies, but I'm not really in the mood to do that right now.  I did just buy some ice cream, so maybe that can be dessert....hey yeah....sundaes on Sunday!

Hi Sherry! I think Wally World uses the cheap cereal as a ploy...I can never escape without spending $75-$100!! I love that swing...I need one. We are grilling here too:)

Enjoy Your Sundae,
Kim

You look like a teenager. Not old enough at all to be that childs mommy. LOL
Wallyworld? I DON"T THINK WE HAVE THAT HERE and we don't have frogs that look as gorgeous as those. Ours are dark forest green and dry and all scaley and no bigger then my my fist which is small. that one you got was bright green and shiney, so beautiful. Brianna said, "It's a funny looking frog." So many reptiles in Florida. LOL
The church children singing thing sounds so nice. When I was a kid our catholic church had a very cute mass aimed at kids and teenagers. The teenagers from the highschool would play religious rock songs on their various instruments, the preist would joke, all the children would sit on the floor around the alter throughout the mass. Then our Priest that ran that mass, left to work on a religious tv channel and they stopped it. I wrote a letter to the new priest and asked him to bring it back when I had kids. And he wrote me back and basically said, "Get lost!" LOL So anyway.....don't cha just love when kids wait till the last minute to tell you there is something really important you are soposed to do for them? ugggg

Love the idea of sundaes on Sunday!  YUMMY!!!!  Love the pictures too!!  Man, if Wee One doesn't look like her Aunty!  WOW!  What a great way to spend the day, going on a bike ride and seeing nature.  And, the way you and Betsy spent the day isn't too shabby either!  I would take either of them!  I love Walmart for their cereal prices, but unfortunately, my son only liked Crispix and they don't carry that there.  But, they do have the staple Cheerios!  :)  Sounds like you had a wonderful Sunday and that's how they are supposed to be!
Hugs and lots of love,
Lisa

Wee one seems to be close to her auntie...that is great! My kids don't really have an aunt that cares to spend time with them. I envy that. The frog is cute..I like frogs as long as they stay away from me...they creep me out a little. Wally world always gets more money out of me than I tend to spend...I dunno how that happens? Especially when the kids go with me! I love to hear my kids sing at church and school...they are so adorable! Oh yeah, I have a recipe for a no-bake Strawberry cream cheese pie that is to die for! Check it out if you have time....thanks!
Hugs,
Stace

We had a lovely Florida weekend too and today is shaping up to be another gorgeous day.  One of the greatests joys in my life is directing a children's choir at my church.  I am in my 13th year of directing and I absolutely love it.  So glad Wee One has the opportunity to be involved in a children's choir, I wish every child did.  Have a wonderful week!

Can you believe we had snow here?  Very NOT right.  Glad you are having such nice weather.  Dh & I were just talking about driving or flying down to Panama or St. Petersburg for a few days without the kids just to get a way... and have some warmth... we just want to lay on the beach all day and read... then go out and eat expensive food at night.

Have a great day!
