Friday night....(how original)

No specific reason for the animation....I just thought it was cute!

THE JOB

Turns out the ass. (yes, I meant to abbreviate that way) manager didn't know they had hired 2 new cashiers and the call was to ask Betsy if they could keep her application on file for the summer. She was pretty disappointed! But, we will forge ahead this weekend and put in some more applications.

THE LAWN ORNAMENT (aka BOAT)

We put in an ad in our local boat trader and today we got our first call on it. The guy will be out tomorrow morning at 9:00 am. Dh is outside now spiffing it up some more. Here's hoping!

THE FURNITURE

Thank you to all who complimented my new set! I just went out there and sat for a while....it's just beautiful! There is a light breeze, and the new floor lamp makes it all cozy. Wee one said it would be a great place to spend the night....lol. She said it was like having another living room. It's not "real" wicker, but a synthetic type. I liked it better because with the mold and pollen here, it will be much easier to keep clean.

THE FIELD TRIP

A few have asked about the fact that it was a "religious" trip Betsy went on and to be honest....I never even thought about it! She goes to a public high school and they have an actual "Christian club", but that is not who sponsored the trip. It was a history teacher who set it up, and it was open to anyone who wanted to go. Betsy didn't even know about it until two days before the trip, when a friend asked her if she would like to go. So, I suppose since it was strictly voluntary, people don't have a problem with it. They managed to fill an entire tour bus and I would venture to guess had it been more widely advertised, more would have gone.

Anyhoo....that's it. My itemized update. I have such a headache right now. I think it may be from my dh (and tonight the d does not stand for darling) arguing with me over something stupid. Men can be such jerks. (I say that with a loving heart, of course....)

POOR betsy. God has something better for her. I pray you sell your boat and get a good price. We have severe storms almost here first time I can remember cops driving down with sirens saying seek shelter. Its blwoing cars off the interstate they say. NEEDLESS to day we did not get to camp in our new camper this weekend. :<{  I am glad they had that opportunity to go to the holy land. That is awesome . I have a head ache but its not from arguing. I was a little in excess lastnight LOL Yeah men can be jerks and we can say it with love. I tell you I have my days too.

I'm sure Betsy will find something.  Our "plicker" has been outside since we got it 2 years ago and is still in great shape.  Keeping my fingers crossed on the boat selling.

Poor Betsy, but she will find something.  We are getting a new Chili's in town and the hiring sign went up on Tuesday, well my Katie went in to fill out an app. and then they told her they are'nt hiring anyone under 18.  Katie will be 18 in July, so they said, "come back in July!"  She is pretty bummed out too.  I enjoyed catching up on your journal as you probaly noticed I've been incommunicado for about 2 weeks with a "fried modem".  Have a good one! .:Barbara:.

I agree that the graphic is totally necessary. :-)
What a bummer about the restaurant job.  I hope that she is able to find something that she likes very soon.

And a very organized entry!  I hope we get to go to that Holy Land experience soon.  I wish we could get Rob's grandmother and mine down here to see it but they are getting to that age where it's too hard for them to travel at all.
Hugs,
Lisa

Since your daughter didn't get the job, it just means that she's supposed to be doing something ELSE this summer...she just may not know what that is yet!  I am a true believer of "everything happens for a reason" (although my 16 year old HATES when I say that!!) so I know that she'll be doing something bigger and better soon!  My sister has that same set from Target!  I LOVE it!  It has this great rocker to match too....I steal that seat everytime I'm at her house!  (LOL!)  I wish I could have your boat...I LOVE being by the water!  BUT...no boat in our future!  Have a great weekend.
