Alright now....no comments on this graphic! (Although truthfully, it is a perfect representation of myself....)
Today I spent the day with my husband. He took the day off, as well as tomorrow. He is one of those guys that never takes vacation time, and we decided that since he working his butt off without proper recognition, he is going to start enjoying the vacation time he has earned. He said to me this morning that he felt guilty being off because there are projects going on that he is involved in. I said, well, considering that this journal is rated PG-13, I can't type exactly what I said....but rest assured it was R-rated and completely appropriate!
So, after taking both Betsy and wee one to school (awwwww), he came home and took me out to breakfast. We went to a great new diner that, I must say, had the best french toast I have ever eaten! And it was a typical 1950's diner too....silver on the outside with the little windows, red and white glitter booths, black and white tile floors, stools and a "bar" at the front, and classic 1950's tunes playing. We have to go back and try their burgers because I just know they are going to be spectacular!
After that, we rode around a bit, taking in the sites and then headed to the phone store to get a new provider. We got a spectacular deal that was only $10 more than our old deal....plus 700 extra minutes and a line for Betsy! WooHoo....
Betsy had a poetry slam tonight at school. She was thrilled because over 50 kids showed up and it was a hit. She is president of the poetry club so she was a bit nervous about how it would all work out. They had coffee, cookies, pop, etc. Next week they have their end of the year bash. I think she will be sad because she is good friends with a lot of seniors and they will be leaving. Oh, to be young and carefree once again....lol.
Next week I was invited out fordinner by a *new friend*! Now, I may seem chatty and outgoing here, but in "real life" I have a few acquaintances, but only one or two real friends. Both of whom live back in Indiana/Illinois. So, this darling girl took pity on me and is dragging me out with some ladies from the neighborhood. (Her neighborhood, but I'll take what I can get!) Here is the thing....I'm a little nervous because in the 17 years I've been married....I've never gone out with friends alone without my husband. I can hear the gasps of amazement! It's not that he forbade me to do so (he would probably like me to leave sometimes). It's not that we are attached at the hip (although that would be a great explanation as to why my hips are so big). It's just that we have always done things together and as a family. He has done very few things with friends over the years, and when he has it is usually a motorcycle ride or helping someone move. So, this will be a new experience for me. I told Betsy about it and said to her, "Face it sweetie, your mommy is growing up!" She just rolled her eyes and left the room....apparently I'm not as funny as I originally thought.
I can't believe it's almost 9:00. I've got things to get done before bed so I'm taking my leave....have a good one!

My hubby is the same way!!!!!!!! We only take time off for camping trips as a family. DO you know we have neverwent away alone. Not even on a honey moon. I had just had Rachael and so the kids were with us. So in 17 + years of marriage no honemoon. The girls have talked ot setting up something for us and them taking care of the dogs for us. IN a cabin no less. Breakfast out alone sounds like a nice little morning. We hope to get new plans in Nov. that is when our contract runs out. Becuase our phones are crappy and I might be changing providers. No kidding. I may go to that new nextel with walkie talkie. We have four on our family plan now with cingular.
I to may seem chatty and out going But do you kow I went one time alone out with girls. It was Lisa and BEverly to a homeschool fair and book sale LOL So funny the one time I do go out its a moms homeschool deal so it was for the girls LOL I have no close friends I have one down the road but we dont do anything together just an occasional yard sale and email. she hoemschools so most ofour contact is over that and NOw I wont be doing that and they are talking of moving so I dont know that I will keep close contact if they move. I think its only becuase we are neighbors that we are friends you know what I mean aquaintances. SO I really have no one to hang with. I dont know that is bad or not.???!?!?!?!??! I only do things with hubby too. We go out every weekend to dinner or something but not with couples. I did go out and meet jo jo one time and we also did go on the company dinners but we are always off to our selves. Never fails. I dont know maybe its me who knows but I dont have to time to think about that today Im scarlett ohara oh ever notice she did not have man friends!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have a great time on your Mom Night Out!
Big O.
I know exactly what you mean about never going out with friends. We have always done things as a family or we're working and too tired to develop and cultivate friendships as we should. Plus we're both home bodies and loners... other than he goes fishing a lot and my idea of a good time is browsing and spending too much at Walmart or putting yet another layaway in! Ugh! I really should make a life for myself other than work and housework. LOL... our weekly date used to be to go to Walmart. So sad!! We are looking forward to getting dressed up and going somewhere nice soon... hubby and I. (NO friends!!) Well best wishes and hope you have a great time and meet some new people. Hugs,
Lisa
You know what? I hope you have a GREAT time out with the girls! You deserve to have some really great girlfriends to be goofy, chatty, and confidants with. I'm going to pray that you have such a great time with those ladies! If we lived nearby, I would have drug you out months ago!!!!

I would feel the same way as you do about going out with new friends. I also never go anywhere that doesn't involve the family or with my hubby. I forgot how to do that actually! LOL! I hope you have a wonderful time! What a great hubby you have taking you out to eat and spending time with you and the girls! I just have to say this, AWWWWWWWWWW! :)
Hugs and love, Lisa
I LIKE YOUR GRAPHICS AND SPENDING TIME WITH YOUR HONEY IS THE BEST. COME VISIT FOR A SPRING VISIT
Well, good for you for going out with the girls.Hopefully you will have a great time.KIM
Sherry, I did not gasp in amazement! I can totally understand and I relate to you! I have about 2 real friends and yes, many acquaintences, but none I would feel like hanging out with all the time. My husband is the same way. We are best friends and we love doing everything together. I really don't have the desire to go out with the girls, though I have several times in my 21 years of marriage. The last "girls weekend" I went on was a year ago and all I wanted was to go home. They were acting immature (3 of them mooned the entire lobby in the glass elevator at the hotel! And they were all about my age!) . . . I just wanted to get out of there. I'll take my DH's company anyday.
.:Barbara:.
You are too funny. Teenagers are so mean that was hysterical I would have bust out laughing. LOL
I hope you have a good time. I have no friends either and I would hate going out with a bunch of women and I wouldn't go. But you have a great time and don't be like me. I think that's so cute that Betsy is the Pres of the poetry club. Something very nice for her college applications yes sireee. I haven't been out to breakfast since 1994
I think it's a great graphic and it's always fun to spend time with the honey :-)

Aww, it sounds like a nice breakfast out with your man and I've only gone out with Aaron a couple of times and I definitely have a better time with him. However, I hope you have a spectacular time out with the ladies and make alllll the men who are with their wives drool! ~Melissa
