It's field trip day! Betsy and 75 of her closest friends are on their way to the "Holy Land Experience". I had never heard of this before last week when she brought the permission slips home. She's pretty excited about it. They have a gorgeous day for it....sunny and 82. This morning she was running around, searching for her cd player, a bag to carry snacks in, etc. They do get to have lunch at a fancy Cafe as well....but heaven help us if she doesn't have Mountain Dew to get her through the bus trip! LOL....I don't know how anyone can drink that stuff! I hope they all have a wonderful time. I get to pick her up at school this evening. She should be mighty tired tonight!
She also had her first job interview yesterday, at a local fast food restaurant. She was a little nervous, but told me that it went really well. She said that she made eye contact the entire time, and smiled a lot. The manager told her that they are having trouble with kids getting jobs there, then flirting during their entire shift. She assured him that would not be a problem for her, that she would be there to work. He asked her if she was good at math, and she told him that indeed, she was an A math student. (I was looking at her math homework last night....might as well have been alien gibberish....I can't believe that a child of MINE can understand that!) All in all it was a good interview, and he said if she didn't hear from her by Friday she probably did not have the job....there was a girl there waiting for an interview after Betsy. She said she was really nervous. I sure hope she gets the job, but if not, it was good experience!
Today is wee one's first after school meeting for patrol. She is pretty excited about it. They also have a special program going on today. I'm not sure what it is, as it's a "secret". So, all the kids are excited to find out.
I went out last night, looking for the particular set of patio furniture I want....and of course they are sold out. And of course they don't know when they will be getting more, but I can "call every day to see if any came in". Yeah, sure. I think I'll just go look around and find something similar, rather than do YOUR job, thank you very much! Sheesh. I do want to get something though....my porch looks so empty since I threw out all the old stuff. That's what I get for procrastinating though....
Okay, I'm off to get wee one ready for school. Have a lovely Thursday!

Yes that holy land experience is a great thing. It will be very interesting. Hope she take s pics for you to post. Hope she gets the job. Yes a friend and i were just talking about her ordering a sandwich at Subway and this boy comes in no shirt no shoes. ( the sign on the doors says no shirt no shoes no serivce) and he leans over the counter talking to this girl while my friend is getting a sandwich made and he says so you still living with so in so She says yes but we are fighting the boy says well you just need to move in with me!!!!!!!!! Seh said gee I dont really want to hear about your sex life while your making my sandwich!!!!!!!!! Anyway I agree that guy probably does need to be careful. My bowling alley experience with that girl who talked ot the boys rather than do her job and keep our lane working and play songs requested really made sure it was a bad night nad so I do nto go there. that was the night I really found out who my friends were. None of the people I went with were for sure they did not stand beside me on that one. HENSE I have had to slow things down a bit. Well anyway hope you have a wonderful day do you know they are talking snow for htis weekend UGH!!!!!!!! I cant believe it. after 70's . Let us know what hte surprise is about with wee one. So glad she is better.
You've gotts share about the Holy Land trip. Never heard of it. I have a 16 year old daughter too. She's looking into all of these Summer Music Programs and although I would love for her to get a job, I don't know when she'd have time with all these crazy programs she wants to go to. I remember the first time I was out with her at the mall and I realized the guys were checking her out. Man, that was a wake-up call. Now they are also checking out DD#2 (she's 14) God help us mothers of daughters! Hope you have a great day! (PS..I have a 10 year old too....but I have a boy, not a girl. Geez, maybe he'll be cheching out YOUR 10 year old daughter!! LOL!!)

I fear that Betsy is not going to be hired just because she is pretty! I think that was the "code word" for the person that was interviewing saying they were having "trouble with their employees flirting". Who knows though, sometimes that beautiful smile will get her everywhere in life! :) I hope she has a great time on her field trip! I never even heard of this Holy Land, but then again, I don't know much about Florida at all. Sorry about your patio furniture. They have some really beautiful sets at Target though, so you should keep that in mind.
Hugs and love, Lisa
Let us know more about the Holy Land trip. It sounds very interesting.
I'm with Betsy, gotta have my mountain dews.
I hope she gets the job! If they don't hire her because they are stupid then some smart manager will hire her somewhere else. The only thing I ever liked about school as a kid were the trips. LOL They are gonna have a great time...I Hope.
Good luck finding the perfect set for your patio. You have greatttttttttttttttttt taste so whatever you choose will look marvelous!
OOooo!! I love Mountain Dew...just can't drink it like I use to...gives me nasty stomaches now. lol.
What a cool field trip to go on...hope she enjoys it!
I hope she gets the job!! There is nothing like you first job! Keep us posted!!!
*hugs*
Congrats to Betsy on her first job interview!! And the Safety Patrol meeting for Wee One! Hope you find your patio set! Just put a swing in layaway that has an awning and makes into a hammock! I can't wait to get it home! But my umbrella for my patio blew away with the wind and we can't find it anywhere! Can you believe it? Oh well, it was only $25.00 but hey- now it's been gone a week so I think I'll have to replace it. This time I am going to secure it in a clay pot or something with loads of cement around it. UGH! One more thing... well two more... to put in the garage in case of another (hurricane.... sssshhhH! Hopefully we won't have any more of those...)!!
Hugs,
Lisa
I really hope Betsy gets her job, good luck :)........Jules xxxxx
