Well, the Florida summer is officially here....according to MY calendar anyway....it's been hot and humid for a week, although I must say the breeze has made it very nice. Balmy would be the word I'd use. The pool is warming nicely....so much so that yesterday when wee one was getting ready to jump in, she felt the water and said it was "warm". LOL....so much for a refreshing dip.
Our weekend was a lazy one....not much got done. Well, JB did take apart my manifold to fix some dohickey on my engine that wasn't working properly (and yes, those are highly technical terms....I'll explain it to ya later....), as well as work on the yard and a few other odds & sodds. I took Betsy to work (no driving for Ms. Andretti for a loooong time!) and wee one to mom's so that later in the evening, JB and I could go to the movies. That wasn't the original plan however....we were supposed to go out with a few couples from work, but it didn't pan out. That's okay though....it was nicer just having an evening alone at the theater. And what did we see????
"The Benchwarmers". I have never in my life laughed so hard at a movie....from beginning to end....it didn't stop! These three guys are hysfreakingsterical on their own....but together, playing off one another....unbelievable. Of course you know I am in total love with David Spade (sarcasm turns me on, what can I say? lol), and Jon Heder (aka Napoleon Dynamite) was perfect as the completely dim-witted nerd. Now, here's the strange part....Rob Schneiderplayed the "handsome, has it together, cool guy" part and....dare I say it....the man was hot! LOL....I guess there is no denying it now....I'm a geek freak! Anyway....the movie was great and we laughed all the way to the truck....then in the truck all the way home....
Sunday morning we went to church and then it was off to WalMart for a few things we needed. JB and wee one dropped me off at a clothing store and went ahead of me because, lets face it, who wants to browse around with those two right behind you, sighing and complaining every second? Sheesh. Of course, by the time I got to the mart (had to stop in at the newly reopened Payless to take a gander....$45 later I was out of there! lol....), I found them in the automotive section. The cart was FILLED. I looked at the cart, then at John and he says, "They are necessities." Ummmhmmm. Riiiiiiiight. Let's see....oh yes, I couldn't possibly gone another day without the specialized bumper wax or the $5 a roll shop towels that work the same as Bounty. Whatever....lol. I suppose I shouldn't complain being that his expertise with my engine saves more money per month than what was in that cart!
I made a nice Sunday dinner....and a lovely blueberry cobbler for dessert. The rest of the day was spent lazing about....watching my beloved Cubbies blow yet another game, (but oh it was nice to lie on the porch, earphones in, enjoying the game and napping during commercial breaks!), and chatting with my buddy....(even if I was left hanging for 10 minutes while they were messing around in the garage!!!! ;o) I finished my evening studying with wee one for quite a while. Thank goodness there are only 14 more days of school....I'm so sick of tests and homework! LOL....I'm so ready for the constant sounds of "there's nothing to eat, I'm bored, I want a friend over, why can't I have a friend over, I want to swim, oh crap not ANOTHER hurricane warning!"
Okay, I need to get my butt in gear and clean this place. Have a lovely Monday!!!!

Sounds like a great weekend!! Glad you enjoyed the movie so much. Now I want to go see it LOL!
Enjoy your Monday. Pamela
IT'S A MIRACLE, I HAVE TAKEN THE TIME TO MAKE A COMMENT!!! Aren't you impressed? I read every day, but my lazy post-partum butt hasn't posted a hello... sorry.
Of course, as usual, I am JEALOUS of your weather and ocean access. The Spring here in your home state is beautiful, a chilly breeze sometimes, but usually in the mid to high 70s. The grass is green, the flowers are blooming... you know.
Thanks for all of the sweet comments and notes about my sweet Ellie! Thanks for also predicting pink! I'm so glad you were right!

Your weekend sounded wonderful. I am with you there about school. My daughter only has about 3 weeks left. No more getting up at 7 am. Yeah! What has been happening to our Cubbies? This is suppose to be our year. LOL It is still early. That move The Benchwarmers sounds so funny. I think my daughter and her friends will love it. One day I will learn how to make cobbler. A lady I used to work for gave me a recipe for peach and I haven't tried it yet. Well, have a great Monday. Hugs
Sounds like a nice weekend all-in-all. Hard to believe there is that little school left, my girls still have about 25 days left.

Nice weekend. Special bumper wax? I didn't know they made such a thing.
Which shows you that I rarely get to the automotive department.
I can't wait to see Benchwarmers....that
will more than likely be one that we buy!
Glad you had a good weekend

Oooh Sherry.....balmy weather ~ how lovely!! I'd love a bit of balm lol. If wee one says the pool is warm that must mean you're about ready to jump in too :-) It's nice to have a lazy weekend.......the movie sounded great fun ~ especially the two of you :-) Glad your dohickey manifold is fixed!!! Sounds complicated to me! Funny you should say about John and the shopping ~ I had that with Mart tonight lol :-)

Have you seen "Hot Chick"? That movie is great as far as Rob Schneider being hot looking that's for sure! LOVE that movie, it's one of Bethany's favs and everytime I see her watching it, I get caught up in it. I won't take her to see "Benchwarmers" even though she has been begging me to take her. I have my limits afterall. LOL! Walmart and men, whattyagonnado??!?
Hugs and love,
Lisa
Sounds like you had a fun weekend. The movie sounds great.....it won't be out over here for a wee while yet, so I'll have to keep it in mind. We haven't been to the 'pictures' (as we call it) for ages! I too, am sick of studying....got loads to do before my deadline on Thursday so I can empathise with you and wee one! Enjoy the sun..and the porch..and the pool!
