First of all, I just want to thank everyone who sent such loving comments and e-mails. It helps to know that we aren't alone in our problems, and to know that our friends will stand behind us, next to us, and even catch us when we are weak and fall. ((((everyone))))
John and I went over and sat with my grandmother for a while this evening. She is doing good so far. She has a cast from knee to foot on her left leg, and shoulder to hand on her right arm. My mother and her brother have called a nursing service and are trying to set up a day nurse, and they are flying my sister in to stay with her during the night. That will be good because during the day, she can stay with my dad while mom checks on Nana from time to time. My sister is unemployed right now, no kids and her husband works nights....they talked about it and decided it would be the right thing to do, and she will also get the added benefit of visiting with dad. So, that's the plan for now.
John and I took Hayley to her class this morning, and then I dropped him off at work. I was so depressed by that time, that I went home and did the one thing I knew would help calm my anxiety....I made pancakes. They were really good....sometimes I think they work better than my anxiety medication! After that I spent the morning cleaning the house until 1:00. Beyond that, I did nothing. I sat on my rump and watched tv till 2, then napped till 3:30. It has just been one of those depressing weeks....I don't feel like doing anything....no motivation whatsoever. I have tons of things to do....yet I don't. I've still got wash to finish, clothes to fold and iron. However, I made a 4 thumbs-up dinner tonight. Something about the smell of a good old fashioned pot roast is so comforting.
Well, I'm off to take a bath and relax....soak my blisters, that sort of thing. I took a picture of my beat-up feet....but it was unsuitable for posting....lol. Have a lovely evening everyone....and thanks for being here for me!

Well I may not be able to catch you when you fall BUT I ll be a softer place to land hopefully than the ground and Then we can roll aournd laughing together maybe. WE have something in our community called commnutiny services. They come and do meals and help out alot and give people abreak when needed. Sounds like both could use it. ONce you get hooked up with on they will tell you of other services. The hosptial can also give you tons of info on this type of stuff. Maybe even the county attorny can too. I got some info at all these places. WOW pancakes huh. Maybe you should sell those relaxing pancakes cause I could use some. Lori
Glad you had sometime to take care of you. That's important.
Oh sherry, sorry I didn't get her sooner. But I'm glad that your mood has changed and that you feel better. Pancakes are great medicine for all kinds of ailments. Anyway, glad you are feeling better but I don't understand about your feet? Why would you want to flash your feet? Hugs Lanny
Good,it sounds like things have worked out. That's great.Have an unstressful evening.KIM

WOW, I am sorry I wasn't here for you with all this stuff happening. I feel terrible! I understand EXACTLY how you feel about your mom being the one that everything is dumped on. I was the one in my family that had everything dumped in my lap to handle, so I know what it's like. Todd would have to sit there and see it all happening until he finally couldn't anymore and I had to actually listen to him and stop the madness. The story about your dad and the phone brought me to tears as my grandfather is suffering from this same illness right now and if my grandmother leaves him even to go out and get the mail, he calls "911" and tells them his wife is "lost". I am thinking of you Sherry and I wish I had been here for you! Hang in there chickie!! You come from tough stock, so scream if you have to, beat up a pillow, but in the end, you will pull through just fine, lipstick and all perfectly in place! :)
Hugs and love, Lisa
Glad you are feeling better:) I get anxiety too...I will have to try making some pancakes!
Gald things are going better for you and the family. If you ever need an ear...I am hear! Hugs, Julie
Email me the feet privately please lol Im glad your grandma is all taken care of. That poor thing. I just can't believe it. Your such wonderful homemaker..you really are.
I'm glad your grandma is doing good and that your mom will get more help.
I like making french toast when I feel that way, not sure why, lol!
Take it easy and we're here for you in J-land :)
I am pleased your grandma is a bit better. I didnt realise she has broken her leg as well as her arm, poor thing. it's lovely that you all help together as a family.
I am a comfort chocolate eater. If I am fed up the first thing I reach for is a huge bar, apparantly there is a feel good thing in chocolate. I wonder if its the same in pancakes. You carry on resting those poor feet, take care...........Jules xx
Your poor grandmother! Don't forget that your mom has someone who understands and loves her so much, you! So'd you enjoy your day? What'd you watch on TV, Days? LOL That's what I watch around that time. haha Hope the stress level comes down for you a bit and that the bath helped. ~Melissa
I hope your circumstances sort themselves out soon. You can only take so much stress!! I couldn't agree more that lovely high carb food is the best cure for depression. I don't know if Americans mean the same thing by pancakes as we do, but my daughter will only eat pancakes when she is ill. They are like a magical remedy in our house. :o)
Kinky tomato! Just got back from the county fair! Did you go to yours in Indiana? I love the fair, I love to people watch... love fair food (only once a year, of course!)
I hope your Nana is OK. I said a prayer for her. Encourage her to stay as mobile as possible (safely) and drink fluids... lots of fluids! I've seen so many old people get pneumonia because they didn't move around and drink water after they have fallen.
Have a great night, I'll be thinking about you as I munch on my elephant ear and sip my lemon shake-up... do they have those in Florida?
~Erin
PS... Check out my journal.... I PASSED!!!!!!!!
How ya doing?
Where have I been and HOW did I miss so much? Please know you have been in my thoughts! I hope things improve for you! (((((Sherry)))))
