How does my garden grow.....with lots and lots of plant food....

As you may have guessed, my day consisted of gardening. I transplanted, planted, mulched, watered and helped dh move and put up the picket fence. I am tired, sore and very happy with the progress. Our back yard is really coming along. All we need now is the sod....and it will be gorgeous. I love gardening. I have never been one to garden before, but after we moved here, I got into it. I suppose it is because you can plant something in April, and it will still be blooming in February! I took before and after pics, which I will post when I get them developed....

After our day of hard work, dh and I took a little motorcycle ride. It was so nice. The sun was setting and the scent of freshly mowed grass was in the air. We took our usual route along the water, and ended up at the Sonic drive in. We had dinner together and a hot fudge sundae too....yum! I'm freezing right now, as I didn't wear a jacket. I was so hot from working outside, I didn't think I needed one....wrong!

So, now it's after nine and I am exhausted. I think I'll turn in early tonight. Tomorrow we are going out on the boat I think....so I had better get some rest. You know how exhausting it is lounging about, gliding over the water, sipping cocktails and soaking up the sun....

Glad you aren't sticking with the "dull journal" entries!  I was also out gardening today!  Nothing like it in the world!  You feel such a sense of accomplishment after it's done!  And, I feel so bad for you, you worked soooo hard today!  Out on the boat, then eating, THEN a hot fudge sundae!  You poor thing!  I hope you at least got good sleep after that stressful day!  Hee-hee!
Hugs and love, Lisa

One of my most favorite memories of living in Florida was when I planted these small, but very beautiful red geraniums in this huge flower box we had around the front of our house.  Those geraniums bloomed for many months and grew so huge that I couldn't believe it.  Everything I planted in Florida, roses, pointsettias, oleanders, just grew so beautifully there.  Anyway, glad to hear you had a great day and I hope you have fun on the boat tomorrow.  Down a cocktail for me.  Please?

I'm jealous! I SO need to do some yard work too but you know, journals, boating, cleaning, beer and all.  Just haven't squeezed in the time yet. My yard is so bad, "how bad is it" you ask? It's so bad that we've decided to put up a wood fence around the back and fill the back with beach sand. Yep it's that bad but cool idea don't you think?

I love gardening. I really never got into it until we moved to TX and the gardening season is so much longer than it was in KS. GA is the same way, plant early and enjoy it for months to come. Your "date" with your hubby sounds fun, have fun on the boat today :)

Hope you don't get pulled over by the boating police for drinking and boating!  That would not be good.  Sounds like a great day yesterday and if the weather stays nice like the last few days, you'll have a beautiful day on the boat. ~Melissa

I was just looking at Sonny's boat thinking he really needs to get it ready to go back out on the lakes SOON.  I'm so ready for that kind of relaxation. :)

Sounds like you are having a good weekend and that's what really counts, right?
