The above picture is my "E" pic....it's the Elephant wee one made me for Christmas....he's in the jungle....isn't he adorable?
I usually begin my Friday's with a thorough "before the weekend mess begins" cleaning. Today, however, I went to breakfast with my friend. I wasn't very hungry....and even thought about not going so I could clean....but I decided against it. I don't have many close friends down here, but Sylvia is one of those people you just can't help but be happy around. Always sweet and in a good mood. She has a son that is in the same grade as wee one, and a 3 year old daughter who is the spitting image of her mommy. She is the sweetest little girl, with a head full of curls. She calls me "Miss Sherry", which I find adorable. During our breakfast she colored frogs on the menu, blew bubbles in her apple juice, and stole a piece of bacon off my plate....it was so funny! I feel honored that she is so at ease with me that we can share pork products.
After our breakfast, we went shopping. Erika was thrilled with a painting book her mommy got her, and told me she was going to paint me a picture. Then we spent some time in the shoe department, searching for makeup, and sitting on the patio furniture swings. I ended up buying a "toad house" for wee one. She and her friend love catching toads and lizards....and once they see this little place, they will be thrilled.
Now, I'm home with my mounds of laundry waiting to be done, dusting and vacuuming, you name it. However, I'll do it in a better mood, since spending the morning with my friend and her daughter. We don't do things together often enough....although we could not see each other for a month, and pick up where we left off. You gotta love a gal like that.
Well, I'm off to clean....happy Friday everyone!

Glad you opted to keep your breakfast date with your friend. No matter how much housework there is, you have to break away and do special things for you. You're worth it!

Sounds like you've had a great day! I wouldn't know how to act to have a breakfast date (or lunch or dinner) with a girlfriend. I'm glad you went--housework will always be waiting on you, but friends might not be--I know you know that all too well! I love the elephant! That "wee one" has some artistic talent! Love, Kim :o)
