Owwwwww, my head!!!!

Will someone please take the vice off of my head???? I have had this freaking headache for two days straight. It is definately a tension headache. I broke down and took one of Betsy's migraine pills, and although I am a bit dizzy, it finally took the pain away. I took a nice, hot, leisurely bath and that seemed to help as well.

I was planning on spending a relaxing day sewing and becoming one with the thread....however, Betsy came into my room this morning complaining that her chest was tight and felt like someone was sitting on it. She was also dizzy and nauseated. Of course, that worried me, being that she had already been through a course of antibiotics last week for her bronchitis. I took her to the doctor today and she said that her lung were clear and sounded good. She did, however, say that she had yet another sinus infection, and that was irritating her already stressed throat and chest. She also said that the z-pack isn't the strongest antibiotic to use for a sinus infection, so she gave her a new prescription and said that if she wasn't better by Friday to come back. I felt much better after seeing her and being reassured that she didn't have pneumonia. So, Betsy and I ended up spending a nice day together....even though we were both feeling crappy. It was so nice to spend time with her....it was a bonding experience for us....awwwww. LOL. I'm sure she will roll her eyes when she reads this.

Right now wee one is at church with her friend. For the past three days they have been having spelling bee try outs. She has made it to the very end these past two days, only to miss the last word. I think that this last one that she missed should be stricken from the record, since they gave my Yankee daughter a southern word....shoofly. Who uses shoofly anymore? LOL....she spelled it "shoEfly" lol. Poor kid.

Well, I am getting sleepy sitting here, so I am going to go relax and enjoy the effects of my headache pill....ahhhhhhh, bliss!

Longtime lurker-first time comment. :)  I'm glad were able to take a migraine pill and have some relief.  There is nothing worse than a continual headache.

Shoofly-like "Shoofly don't bother me"?

I have enjoyed reading your journal especially the Florida in winter entries.  I grew up in Florida and now live in Nebraska so from you I get my dose of home. :)

Oh Dear, I hear ya. I get those dog gone things too. The doctor told me its cause of my lack of brains, then when I do get an idea, it rattles around my empty head causing tremendous pain.
Never the less they will weaken ya big time.
I take Midrin for mine. But if I am in a situation where I cant be "That relaxed",
a quick fix remedy is this.
Drink a can of cold coca cola, and eat 2 bags of "Old Saltys" potatoe chips.
It works. Something about the mixture of the caffeine and the salt.
But if I am at home................ Im popping Midrin.
The only thing that works better than that is the "SHOT".............
It goes right to the brain. But you have to go to the ER for that.

Tell "wee one", I said "Job Well Done"........................
Thats pretty awesome what she acomplished.
And your right, who ever uses "shoofly" anyways anymore.
If ya ask me, the contest was rigged.....

Shoofly- why I didn't even know that had made it into the dictionary!  I still remember missing the word lovelier.  I spelled it lovlier.  Duh!  Sorry to hear about your headache.  Hope Betsy feels better too.  Wish we could spend about five or six days just sewing.  Sigh.  Hugs,
Lisa : )

"Shoofly" is a word used in Pennsylvania all the time too, as in Shoofly Pie, so it's not only a Southern word.  Sorry about Wee One not getting it correct, I would have spelled it the same way as she did!  I hope your head is better today!!!!
Hugs and love,
Lisa

Glad you're feeling better.  I had one of those two-day headaches last weekend.  What!  You meant you didnt' make sure "shoofly" was part of your daughters' vocabulary?  BTW, my daughter was thrilled that "wee one" was able to call her last night.  Thank you.  It made her day.
